It looks amazing on you!! (I have 7 of them myself) I have ordered all mine from the Hats by the Hundred, shipped to Canada in less than a week....I couldn't be happier...they are comfortable and durable!
Mine came from Hats By the Hundred too.Great selection and very reasonable and quick shipping. My wife’s hat came from David Morgan here in the US. They are also good but have a much more limited selection. I guess I have to get six more to catch up with you!
G’day, enjoying your videos. The “golden spur” looks great. The colours are nice on both. The “rough rider” also a good style…more western with cowboy crease crown. It has a wide brim to keep sun off, and comes standard in black and other colours. Hats by the hundred are a great bricks and mortar company, and show Akubra hats styles briefly on UA-cam. All the best from Oz.
G’day, enjoying your videos. Akubra are my main hats. Akubra “Tablelands” is my work hat, crown is not too high, and brim is good to keep off the sun, and I have many different for going out. Thanks. The Roughrider hat and the arena hat were finalists as I was making my decision. I agree the Roughrider is more western. I must’ve been feeling a bit Australian at the time I ordered my hat, but I like it. Thanks for your comment and keep watching from down under.
They are good hats. I have an Australian Outback. It’s canvas. I have a hard time with felt hats keeping their shape. Of course living here in upstate New York. It kind of stands out. I’ve been in stores and have people say “hay there’s that guy with the hat”.
@hermgaileyalifetimewithhorses I bought my arena hat on EBay for around 100.it was basically brand new.coober pedy too.i don't wear my stetson's much.my akubras make my horses even look and act better 🤠
Thanks for the vote. I think probably my wife’s hat with the down turned down is a little better sun protection. However I wasn’t prepared to go quite that “Aussie.”
Can’t beat an Akubra! I’ve wore them for years! I will say that to me they are more authentic to what was really wore back in the “old west”… if you look at old photos the modern cowboy hat as we know it today was not wore at that time, that style is a more modern invention. So if you wanna look at it that way… you are not straying really far from a “western” look! But an Akubra will take a licking and keep on ticking buddy! They don’t need beaver felt because they are simply tough enough already. That thing can repeatedly get soaked plum through and still be okay… trust me, I’m rough on my equipment and I’ll have to say these hats are tough as nails. I like modern cowboy hats okay… but I prefer the Akubra… wears better… the style I wear doesn’t have a huge 4” brim so it doesn’t get in my way as much either while providing great shade from the sun too. It’s the best hat I’ve ever wore and don’t really want any other nowadays!👍
Thanks for the positive vote. You have identified my exact plan. This will be my go to work hat.My old farm hat has gotten pretty nasty and I’ve been instructed not to bring it in the house anymore. That’s a good sign that I need a new hat and this will be it.
Thanks for the input. This will be my go to hat around the farm. Based on the response so far it looks like I don’t have to wear it in solitary confinement!
You’ve hit on my main negative on this hat. I’m a pretty traditional western hat wearer. This one does stray from that tradition. it willprobably never see the inside of a horse show arena but I think it will be useful around the farm and for trail riding. Also from past experience with Akubra hats wornby friends they are tough as can be and that’s an important thing for a work hat for me.

Outstanding hat. My dream is to acquire an akubra hat.
You should do it! I’m looking back to getting back to mine in the fall season. My wife was hard-core and wore hers all summer.

Golden spur looks great mate, as an Aussie looks plenty western enough!
That’s what I like to hear. Always good to hear from Australia. I have fond memories of time spent there.
@@hermgaileyalifetimewithhorses would be good to hear your stories mate, enjoy the hat
I like both of the Akubra hats!! I am going to look into the one your wife has 🤩
That hat is called the riverina . I sound like an Akubra salesman!
I love it! And might I add, you look most handsome in it!
ThanksThat’s one vote!
fantastic
Now those are words I don’t often hear! Thanks.
Golden spur looks great!
Thanks . Comments have been good so far. Didn’t really know what to expect. So far so good thanks for your kind thoughts.
I love it! Going to their website now to pick one for myself!
Hope you like it. Remember they tend to run small.
Yes. It's a good one!
Thanks. You guys are giving me some confidence in this new hat. I was a little undecided.

We are in the same club. In Pennsylvania I am the “guy with the hat”. It’s a great fraternity. Thanks for your comment.
Oh, yes, love the new hat. It’s you.
Thanks. That hat is getting a lot of love!
I like it.
Thanks. Pretty favorable response so far.
I like the golden spur,i have the arena and about 10 others great hats year round.good for my bald head in California
I have had my Akubra for about six months now. I got to know them during a stent in Australia quite sometime ago. So far more than pleased.

Sales of Akubra hats are set to increase worldwide 🏴
I will be exercising my stock options immediately!
Looks good on you. Didn't know Akubra made a 'western' style. Looks like both keep the sun off about the same??

Thanks. I saw a lot of Akubras when I was in Australia years back. Go to hat of the bush guys. Figured they were tough. Your comment is encouraging.
I think it looks good!
I would make a good work hat.
Thanks for the positive vote. You have identified my exact plan. This will be my go to work hat.My old farm hat has gotten pretty nasty and I’ve been instructed not to bring it in the house anymore. That’s a good sign that I need a new hat and this will be it.
I like it. Wear it a lot
Thanks for the input. This will be my go to hat around the farm. Based on the response so far it looks like I don’t have to wear it in solitary confinement!
I'm in California and own horses I love akubras and have many styles the latest is the arena, golden spur looks good.
Looks great! I am not so much a fan of the modern cowboy hat, just because I keep seeing the "Flying Nun" from that tv show back in the 60's.
Now there’s an image I won’t unsee!
Keeper look fantastic, more natural than US hats but of same quality.
Thanks. I’ve been wearing it on the cooler days as fall approaches. Well pleased with it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Better keep a stick handy Herm, you might need to beat the girls off with that new hat, specially if it gives you the Aussie accent.
I think maybe Clinton Anderson sells those sticks, doesn’t he?
Golden Spur is more western like
Yes. Couldn’t step too far from my roots.
it's ok. i guess i'm a western girl through and through
