At the engine works has no idea when or where the engine was built just that it showed up one day. There is just something all about the engine engine, so despite the lack of information, the controller purchases the saddle tank. When Percy arrives on the railway takes pleasure, scaring the big engines by wishing them suddenly scold and steam. And then Percy stumbles onto the mainline, nearly causing a head-on collision with an express train, pulling hundreds of passengers. Disaster was only narrowly avoided. This Percy is quite accident and he goes to destruction seems to follow. I’m not saying I want an analog horror, Percy, but I’m just saying it wouldn’t be that hard to reimagine him in that way
23:25- This is what I like about Trampy's characterization of The Fat Controller. He can be deadly serious and no-nonsense, but on occasion he'll have those lines that remind you this is the same Controller who said 'My doctor has forbidden me to pull.'
Seeing as no one else mentioned it, I wanna bring up Edward's usage here, and how he's still very present with the Big 3 at Tidmouth Sheds. While his branch line work technically started in the decade gap between Book 6 and 7, rarely did we see him at Tidmouth Sheds in even Book 3 or 5 - Hatt even saying "you'd be happier in your own yard" - despite the Sodor book saying he sleeps at Tidmouth as his service starts at the Big Station. With the transfer from Vicarstown to Tidmouth not that highlighted, it basically said initially that it was James' shed in Book 3, and Henry and Gordon would sometimes sleep there, and seemed to just become the mainline sheds there with Edward rarely ever seen there. And of course his response to the strike. The original has him put down by the others hissing at him, but here with the 3 not let out upon announcing their strike (plus James seems he'd be too reluctant to hiss Edward here), and still being very present alongside them, he reprimands them for this decision.
Phenomenal reaction as always. This is one of my favourite Trampy movies as well. Gordon definitely did go full supervillain here lol. The Percy movie is definitely one of my favourite ones too so I look forward to seeing that reaction.
