After the high-souled Lord of all creatures had dismounted from that car, the celestial Ape that topped the mantle of Arjuna's vehicle, disappeared there and then. The top of the vehicle, which had before been burnt by Drona and Karna with their celestial weapons, quickly blazed forth to ashes, O king, without any visible fire having been in sight. Indeed, the car of Dhananjaya, with its quick pairs of steeds, yoke, and shaft, fell down, reduced to ashes.
Actually, by the effect of karna's brahmastra and earlier by Drona's brahmstra Arjuna's chariot was burnt into ashes but due to Lord Krishna it was ineffective.

1.) Virat war: Arjuna singlehandedly defeated all kaurava warriors including Karna (thrice), Bhishma and Drona and destroyed the entire kuru army alone to save the Matsya kingdom (refer Virata Parvam in Authentic Mahabharat eg: BORI CE)
2.) Fight with Gandharvas: Karna was defeated by Gandharva king Chithrasena, captured Duryodhana and Karna fled away. But Arjuna alone defeated Chithrasena and released Duryodhana
3.) Panchal war: Karna was defeated along with other Kauravas by Drupada; Arjun defeated and captured Drupada
4.) At Draupadi Swayamvar: Karna fought with Arjun but was defeated by Arjun and Karna retreated.
5.) Mahabharat war day 14: Arjuna slaughtered the Kaurava army and defeated Karna and Drona while hunting for
Jayadratha. Nobody could stand against him on that day. He destroyed 7 akshauhinis that day (refer Drona parva)
6.) Arjun defeated Karn 17/17 times.

Who is better:
1.)Abhimanyu's death: Abhimanyu defeated Karna many times during the war and he was invincible for anyone so he along with 7 other warriors through betrayal jointly attacked him like a coward. But on 17th day Arjun challenged the entire army to protect Karna's son Vrishsena and killed him in front of Karna in one-to-one battle.
2.) Arjuna was ambidextrous: He was the only warrior who could use both right and left hand for using weapon
3.) Arjuna could aim and shoot upto many kilometers even during night
4.) Arjuna was the only warrior to wield the mighty Pashupatastra in dwapara yuga, which could destroy the entire cosmos; the only warrior to fight Lord Shiva and impress him. If you read Kirata parva, Lord Shiva said, that no one except him and lord Vishnu from all the three worlds could defeat Arjuna
5.) Arjuna was the only warrior who knew all the five tatvas of Archery(fifth one is the ability to give back life)
6.) Dhanur Veda, the holy scripture of archery starts by praising lord Shiva, lord Rama and Arjuna
7.) Arjuna singlehandedly killed 30 million Nivatakavachas and Kalakeyas whom even Ravan couldn't defeat
8.) Arjuna was Nara, the partial incarnation of lord Vishnu himself.
9.) Arjun was the only warrior, with whom all the tridev were pleased.

Now coming to the last mentioned arguments:
1. Indra could have given and equally powerful armor (kavach) to Arjuna as he is also a demigod like Surya. He knew the power of his son but wanted to ensure a fair battle as Karna has a divine protection (which ofcourse, is obtained not because of his skill but as a boon). This would make the battle completely based on skills and weapons and not on boons. Just think, many demons got boons by which they could not be killed easily, eg: Hiranyakashipu, Madhu and Kaitab etc. But does that make them more powerful than lord Vishnu, never... just loopholes to escape death. Also Karna exchanged Kavach for an even more powerful weapon that puts Arjun in more danger. Exchanging one for another is not daan, it is a Trade
2.) Nagastra has many counter weapons like Garudastra and Arjun had around 130 celestial weapons in his arsenal. According to BORI CE Mahabharat, KMG and Mridananda
interpretation of Mahabharat, it was Ashwasena, a snake who lived in Khandava forest in order to take revenge on Arjuna got
into Karna's arrow without Karna's knowledge. It was in this situation Krishna
saved Arjuna. But when Ashwasena came face to face with Arjuna on the same day, Arjun killed him.
3.) Krishna told Arjuna to fire at the time Karna's chariot sunk in soil in order to give respect to curses and make Karna realize his
mistake and to remind him of the situation Abhimanyu was in. Krishna used to praise Karna in front of Arjun to make Arjun more aggressive and vengeful and also for not having any head weight so that he can continue sharping his skills even more.
Also, it is clearly mentioned in Mahabharat that Drona taught Karna along with Kauravas and Pandavas. Yes, Karna was a student of Drona (just google for yourself). But he was always jealous of Arjuna's skills so he decided to study alone under Parashurama. Also Arjun never got anything with ease, he struggled a lot, he never wanted to be better than Karna, but better than himself.

Also Arjun was an epitome of humbleness,
kindness and wisdom. He was morally far far greater than anyone else. Remember, it was Karna who ordered the disrobing of Draupadi. For saving the cattle of Brahmins from Thakshak, Arjun entered Draupadi's room to take his bow eventhough he knew
that he would have to go for exile, this shows that he was a selfless hero. Also, Karna surrendered himself to Duryodhana the personification of adharma and took part in
various evil activities but Arjun surrendered himself to Krishna, the supreme lord who gave him the purest of purest the highest knowledge- Bhagvad Gita. Please don't misunderstand me. I am not being biased. I was also a Karna fan, but after studying authentic Mahabharat like BORI CE(most accurate one till known), KMG and Swami Mrudananda interpretation and Srimad Bhagavatham, I got to know the real essence of Mahabharat. Please don't believe in TV serials, they create fake stories to
increase their rating. Karna was a good
warrior no doubt, but he ended up being a good mango gone bad. Pandavas suffered worst but the had complete faith in dharma
and Krishna and followed the right path. But, when society started teasing Karna, he had two ways but he chose the wrong path and got a tragic ending all his skills and valor
gone without any use to the society or nation, just he surrendered everything to Duryodhana...and that is the difference. And
finally, for those who says Arjuna is nothing without Krishna, we all are nothing without Krishna. He is giving us the power to speak,
walk, work and live and without him we are nothing. Krishna was there for everyone including Karna but only Arjun saw the true
light of wisdom of Krishna. It is so sad that we live in a society which considers the presence of the supreme lord as a demerit. If we understand Krishna we understand everything including Arjuna...

1.)Abhimanyu's death: Abhimanyu defeated Karna many times during the war and he was invincible for anyone so he along with 7 other warriors through betrayal jointly attacked him like a coward. But on 17th day Arjun challenged the entire army to protect Karna's son Vrishsena and killed him in front of Karna in one-to-one battle.

If you read Kirata parva, Lord Shiva said, that no one except him and lord Vishnu from all the three worlds could defeat Arjuna
5.) Arjuna was the only warrior who knew all the five tatvas of Archery(fifth one is the ability to give back life)
6.) Dhanur Veda, the holy scripture of archery starts by praising lord Shiva, lord Rama and Arjuna
7.) Arjuna singlehandedly killed 30 million Nivatakavachas and Kalakeyas whom even Ravan couldn't defeat
8.) Arjuna was Nara, the partial incarnation of lord Vishnu himself.
9.) Arjun was the only warrior, with whom all the tridev were pleased.

Now coming to the last mentioned arguments:
1. Indra could have given and equally powerful armor (kavach) to Arjuna as he is also a demigod like Surya. He knew the power of his son but wanted to ensure a fair battle as Karna has a divine protection (which ofcourse, is obtained not because of his skill but as a boon). This would make the battle completely based on skills and weapons and not on boons. Just think, many demons got boons by which they could not be killed easily, eg: Hiranyakashipu, Madhu and Kaitab etc. But does that make them more powerful than lord Vishnu, never... just loopholes to escape death. Also Karna exchanged Kavach for an even more powerful weapon that puts Arjun in more danger. Exchanging one for another is not daan, it is a Trade
2.) Nagastra has many counter weapons like Garudastra and Arjun had around 130 celestial weapons in his arsenal. According to BORI CE Mahabharat, KMG and Mridananda
interpretation of Mahabharat, it was Ashwasena, a snake who lived in Khandava forest in order to take revenge on Arjuna got
into Karna's arrow without Karna's knowledge. It was in this situation Krishna
saved Arjuna. But when Ashwasena came face to face with Arjuna on the same day, Arjun killed him.
3.) Krishna told Arjuna to fire at the time Karna's chariot sunk in soil in order to give respect to curses and make Karna realize his
mistake and to remind him of the situation Abhimanyu was in. Krishna used to praise Karna in front of Arjun to make Arjun more aggressive and vengeful and also for not having any head weight so that he can continue sharping his skills even more.
Also, it is clearly mentioned in Mahabharat that Drona taught Karna along with Kauravas and Pandavas. Yes, Karna was a student of Drona (just google for yourself). But he was always jealous of Arjuna's skills so he decided to study alone under Parashurama. Also Arjun never got anything with ease, he struggled a lot, he never wanted to be better than Karna, but better than himself.

Also Arjun was an epitome of humbleness,
kindness and wisdom. He was morally far far greater than anyone else. Remember, it was Karna who ordered the disrobing of Draupadi. For saving the cattle of Brahmins from Thakshak, Arjun entered Draupadi's room to take his bow eventhough he knew
that he would have to go for exile, this shows that he was a selfless hero. Also, Karna surrendered himself to Duryodhana the personification of adharma and took part in
various evil activities but Arjun surrendered himself to Krishna, the supreme lord who gave him the purest of purest the highest knowledge- Bhagvad Gita. Please don't misunderstand me. I am not being biased. I was also a Karna fan, but after studying authentic Mahabharat like BORI CE(most accurate one till known), KMG and Swami Mrudananda interpretation and Srimad Bhagavatham, I got to know the real essence of Mahabharat. Please don't believe in TV serials, they create fake stories to
increase their rating. Karna was a good
warrior no doubt, but he ended up being a good mango gone bad. Pandavas suffered worst but the had complete faith in dharma
and Krishna and followed the right path. But, when society started teasing Karna, he had two ways but he chose the wrong path and got a tragic ending all his skills and valor
gone without any use to the society or nation, just he surrendered everything to Duryodhana...and that is the difference. And

Similarly he cut off the second string, and then the third, and then the fourth, and then the fifth. KARNA CUTTING OFF ARJUNA'S GANDIVA STRINGS 11 TIMES CONSECUTIVELY. This was a feat which none had achieved. Neither Bhishma nor Drona.
2) Section 146 of Drona Parva, Krishna says "For the present, O Partha, it is not proper for thee to fight with Karna.The latter hath with him the blazing dart, like a fierce meteor, that Vasava gave him. O slayer of hostile heroes,he hath kept it for thy sake, worshipping it with reverence." (Fine, that was a normal situation, Krishna stopped Arjuna to fight, that's fine)
But again, in Section 173 of Drona Parva,
Krishna says "I do not, however, O sinless one,regard the time to have come, O mighty-armed one,for thee to encounter the Suta's son in battle. The blazing dart, resembling a mighty meteor, given himby Vasava, is still with him, O thou of mighty arms, kept for thee with care,by the Suta's son. He keepeth that dart by him, and hath now assumed a terribleform."
(This was unacceptable since Karna was smashing away everyone and Yudhishthira was panicking)
3) Section 182 of Drona Parva,
When Dhritarashtra (enquiring Sanjaya) and Satyaki (enquiring Krishna) regarding - Despite every night Karna and Kauravas discussed the usage of Indra’s dart (which Karna had for the sole purpose of killing Arjuna), why he did not use it against Arjuna during the brief encounters they faced in the 6 days, for which Krishna says
“'Karna having assented to this, saying 'So be it' (the desire of) slaughtering the wielder of Gandiva, O bull amongst the Sinis, was ever present in Karna's heart. “””I, however, O foremost of warriors, always used to stupefy the son of Radha”””. It was for this that he did not hurl the dart at Pandu's son, owning white steeds.”
Thus, Krishna not only prevented Arjuna from facing Karna, Krishna created illusions on all the 6 days on everyone of Kuru army (especially Karna) to forget the usage of Indra’s dart. (Despite every night Karna and others debated to use it on Arjuna, they still forgot due to Krishna.

Krishna says “When his car-wheels will sink in the earth, availing thyself of that opportunity, thou shouldst slay him in that distressful situation. I will make thee a sign beforehand. Warned by it, thou shouldst act. The vanquisher of Vala himself, that foremost of heroes, wielding his thunder, is incapable of slaying the invincible Karna while the latter stands weapon in hand.”
Krishna knew that Arjuna could never defeat Karna in a fair fight in the Kurukshetra War and had already given the hint to Arjuna that that was the only way Arjuna could ever defeat Karna as per the above point.

Bhishma said this when Karna met him with tears, “I know thy prowess in battle, which can with difficulty be borne on earth by foes! I know also thy regard for Brahmanas. thy courage, and thy great attachment to alms-giving! O thou that resemblest a very god, amongst men thereis none like thee! For fear of intestine dissensions I always spoke harsh words about thee. In bowmanship, in aiming weapon, in lightness of hand and in strength of weapons, thou art equal to Phalguni (Arjuna) himself, or the high-souled Krishna! O Karna, proceeding to the city of Kasi, alone with thy bow, thou hadst crushed the kings in battle for procuring a bride for the Kuru king! The mighty and invincible king Jarasandha also, ever boastful of his prowess inbattle, could not become thy match in fight! Thou art devoted to Brahmanas; thou always fightest fairly! In energy and strength, thou art equal to a child of the celestials and certainly much superior to men. The wrath I cherished against thee is gone.”

1. Indra could have given and equally powerful armor (kavach) to Arjuna as he is also a demigod like Surya. This would make the battle completely based on skills and weapons and not on boons. Just think, many demons got boons by which they could not be killed easily, eg: Hiranyakashipu, Madhu and Kaitab etc. But does that make them more powerful than lord Vishnu, never... just loopholes to escape death. Also Karna exchanged Kavach for an even more powerful weapon that puts Arjun in more danger. Exchanging one for another is not daan, it is a Trade
2.) Nagastra has many counter weapons like Garudastra and Arjun had around 130 celestial weapons in his arsenal. According to BORI CE Mahabharat, KMG and Mridananda
interpretation of Mahabharat, it was Ashwasena, a snake who lived in Khandava forest in order to take revenge on Arjuna got
into Karna's arrow without Karna's knowledge. It was in this situation Krishna
saved Arjuna. But when Ashwasena came face to face with Arjuna on the same day, Arjun killed him.
3.) Krishna told Arjuna to fire at the time Karna's chariot sunk in soil in order to give respect to curses and make Karna realize his
mistake and to remind him of the situation Abhimanyu was in. Krishna used to praise Karna in front of Arjun to make Arjun more aggressive and vengeful and also for not having any head weight so that he can continue sharping his skills even more.
Also, it is clearly mentioned in Mahabharat that Drona taught Karna along with Kauravas and Pandavas. Yes, Karna was a student of Drona (just google for yourself). But he was always jealous of Arjuna's skills so he decided to study alone under Parashurama. Also Arjun never got anything with ease, he struggled a lot, he never wanted to be better than Karna, but better than himself.

that he would have to go for exile, this shows that he was a selfless hero. Also, Karna surrendered himself to Duryodhana the personification of adharma and took part in
various evil activities but Arjun surrendered himself to Krishna, the supreme lord who gave him the purest of purest the highest knowledge- Bhagvad Gita. Please don't misunderstand me. I am not being biased. I was also a Karna fan, but after studying authentic Mahabharat like BORI CE(most accurate one till known), KMG and Swami Mrudananda interpretation and Srimad Bhagavatham, I got to know the real essence of Mahabharat. The argument is between great and greatest. Karna was definitely one of the great Archer of his time but Arjun was the greatest Archer because he resided in right side of war and survived the Mahabharata war

1.) Virat war: Arjuna singlehandedly defeated all kaurava warriors including Karna (thrice), Bhishma and Drona and destroyed the entire kuru army alone to save the Matsya kingdom (refer Virata Parvam in Authentic Mahabharat eg: BORI CE)
2.) Fight with Gandharvas: Karna was defeated by Gandharva king Chithrasena, captured Duryodhana and Karna fled away. But Arjuna alone defeated Chithrasena and released Duryodhana
3.) Panchal war: Karna was defeated along with other Kauravas by Drupada; Arjun defeated and captured Drupada
4.) At Draupadi Swayamvar: Karna fought with Arjun but was defeated by Arjun and Karna retreated.
5.) Mahabharat war day 14: Arjuna slaughtered the Kaurava army and defeated Karna and Drona while hunting for
Jayadratha. Nobody could stand against him on that day. He destroyed 7 akshauhinis that day (refer Drona parva)
6.) Arjun defeated Karn 17/17 times.

Who is better:
1.)Abhimanyu's death: Abhimanyu defeated Karna many times during the war and he was invincible for anyone so he along with 7 other warriors through betrayal jointly attacked him like a coward. But on 17th day Arjun challenged the entire army to protect Karna's son Vrishsena and killed him in front of Karna in one-to-one battle.
2.) Arjuna was ambidextrous: He was the only warrior who could use both right and left hand for using weapon
3.) Arjuna could aim and shoot upto many kilometers even during night
4.) Arjuna was the only warrior to wield the mighty Pashupatastra in dwapara yuga, which could destroy the entire cosmos; the only warrior to fight Lord Shiva and impress him. If you read Kirata parva, Lord Shiva said, that no one except him and lord Vishnu from all the three worlds could defeat Arjuna
5.) Arjuna was the only warrior who knew all the five tatvas of Archery(fifth one is the ability to give back life)
6.) Dhanur Veda, the holy scripture of archery starts by praising lord Shiva, lord Rama and Arjuna
7.) Arjuna singlehandedly killed 30 million Nivatakavachas and Kalakeyas whom even Ravan couldn't defeat
8.) Arjuna was Nara, the partial incarnation of lord Vishnu himself.
9.) Arjun was the only warrior, with whom all the tridev were pleased.

Now coming to the last mentioned arguments:
1. Indra could have given and equally powerful armor (kavach) to Arjuna as he is also a demigod like Surya. He knew the power of his son but wanted to ensure a fair battle as Karna has a divine protection (which ofcourse, is obtained not because of his skill but as a boon). This would make the battle completely based on skills and weapons and not on boons. Just think, many demons got boons by which they could not be killed easily, eg: Hiranyakashipu, Madhu and Kaitab etc. But does that make them more powerful than lord Vishnu, never... just loopholes to escape death. Also Karna exchanged Kavach for an even more powerful weapon that puts Arjun in more danger. Exchanging one for another is not daan, it is a Trade
2.) Nagastra has many counter weapons like Garudastra and Arjun had around 130 celestial weapons in his arsenal. According to BORI CE Mahabharat, KMG and Mridananda
interpretation of Mahabharat, it was Ashwasena, a snake who lived in Khandava forest in order to take revenge on Arjuna got
into Karna's arrow without Karna's knowledge. It was in this situation Krishna
saved Arjuna. But when Ashwasena came face to face with Arjuna on the same day, Arjun killed him.
3.) Krishna told Arjuna to fire at the time Karna's chariot sunk in soil in order to give respect to curses and make Karna realize his
mistake and to remind him of the situation Abhimanyu was in. Krishna used to praise Karna in front of Arjun to make Arjun more aggressive and vengeful and also for not having any head weight so that he can continue sharping his skills even more.
Also, it is clearly mentioned in Mahabharat that Drona taught Karna along with Kauravas and Pandavas. Yes, Karna was a student of Drona (just google for yourself). But he was always jealous of Arjuna's skills so he decided to study alone under Parashurama. Also Arjun never got anything with ease, he struggled a lot, he never wanted to be better than Karna, but better than himself.

Also Arjun was an epitome of humbleness,
kindness and wisdom. He was morally far far greater than anyone else. Remember, it was Karna who ordered the disrobing of Draupadi. For saving the cattle of Brahmins from Thakshak, Arjun entered Draupadi's room to take his bow eventhough he knew
that he would have to go for exile, this shows that he was a selfless hero. Also, Karna surrendered himself to Duryodhana the personification of adharma and took part in
various evil activities but Arjun surrendered himself to Krishna, the supreme lord who gave him the purest of purest the highest knowledge- Bhagvad Gita. Please don't misunderstand me. I am not being biased. I was also a Karna fan, but after studying authentic Mahabharat like BORI CE(most accurate one till known), KMG and Swami Mrudananda interpretation and Srimad Bhagavatham, I got to know the real essence of Mahabharat. Please don't believe in TV serials, they create fake stories to
increase their rating. Karna was a good
warrior no doubt, but he ended up being a good mango gone bad. Pandavas suffered worst but the had complete faith in dharma
and Krishna and followed the right path. But, when society started teasing Karna, he had two ways but he chose the wrong path and got a tragic ending all his skills and valor
gone without any use to the society or nation, just he surrendered everything to Duryodhana...and that is the difference. And
finally, for those who says Arjuna is nothing without Krishna, we all are nothing without Krishna. He is giving us the power to speak,
walk, work and live and without him we are nothing. Krishna was there for everyone including Karna but only Arjun saw the true
light of wisdom of Krishna. It is so sad that we live in a society which considers the presence of the supreme lord as a demerit. If we understand Krishna we understand everything including Arjuna...

@drinkinman86 kavach and kundal were not invincible rather it ensures the person who wear it will not die. Arjun peirce through his kavach and injured him in Virata war. When you are bound to die, Devas make sure the boon is countered and taken back somehow like the same way devas found their way to kill many Asur with boon.

Very good sir ji, glad to know the truth because- To the extent of my knowledge, Arjuna never demanded any Weapon by his harsh penance but whenever karna get chance to earn any Weapon, he always demanded to kill arjuna. So a person who has this type of fear in his heart, how he can be greater than Arjuna. So now there is no confusion left that arjuna was greater than karna.
