I have a theory, Adrien figured out Ladybug is Marinette and when Gabriel got angry when they started dating, he tried to make Marinette sad to get her akumatized, then Adrien tried to save her by transforming into Cat Noir and then cataclysming the akuma, When they both found out that Gabriel is Hawkmoth by following him underground to see Adrien's mother, they fight like always, then when they were outside Hawkmoth tries to manipulate Adrien/Cat Noir to akumatize him, and thats how he got akumatized

My theory: cat noir finally understood that ladybug doesnt like him so he dates marinette (as adrien) gabriel isnt happy with that so he reveals everything (incluiding his mother) to adrian and blames marinette for all of it

My theory: Maybe he is from another universe where ladybug and cat noir found out who hawkmoth is and they fight him and Gabriel know who cat noir is and tries to manipulate him but he didn't listen and Gabriel went to jail marinate and Adrian started dating but Lila has butterfly miraculous and shows him a video with marinette cheating or talking behind his back and somehow he came to THIS universe. i think ladybug left because she forgot to do homework so she left while playing hide and seek then he started to cry because he lost his teammate. Hawk moth, shadow moth, or monarch in this au, akumatized him and he asked who you are behind the mask then cat noir could not say no to him and when gab(hawkmoth ig) said who he is to akumatize him. Then Hawk moth told him why he was doing this and gab(hawkmoth) touched his ring and then he got akumatized.
