All due respect to all the great singers, and there are many... Rafi just had a uniqueness, he is music itself . And it cant be imitated or replicated. He was a once in lifetime singer.
Best thing about Rafi sahab was his range and versatility: range of emotions, situations, genres and characters. He had a bit of Sehgal, Talat, Mukesh, Manna, Kishore and Mahendra in him. In other words, he could sing songs of any other singer. Ghazals, Qawwali, Semi classical, Devotional, Patriotic, folk, Sufi, Party, High, low, exuberant, sobre, husky, full throttle everything he could sing.
In fact it was the other way. Rafi saab initially copied saigal. Each singer you mentioned had a bit of Rafi Saab. He was the ultimate singer. Voice of God. He had sung songs for every occasion. If all the other singers were college Rafi saab was University. If you follow his style you can get any degree in music. Above all he maintained godly behaviour with every co-artist. So humble and down to earth.
Jayettan has done justice to Mohd Rafi songs. Two legends Mohd Rafi and Dasettan could go upto any pitch, top or low with great ease and clarity. Jayettan's mesmerism is well known to all.
