Filmmaker, actor, TV presenter and creative entrepreneur Shekhar Kapur is best known for films such as Elizabeth, Elizabeth: the Golden Age, Bandit Queen and Four Feathers and What's Love Got to Do with It? His iconic Hindi film, Mr. India, has been nominated for numerous awards including the Oscars, BAFTAs and Filmfare Awards. In conversation with celebrated actor and writer Jordi Mollà, Kapur evaluates his career journey in cinema and discusses the nuances of creating visual narratives.
Shekhar Kapur is a filmmaker, actor, TV presenter and entrepreneur best known for award winning-films such as Elizabeth the Golden Age, Bandit Queen and Four Feathers. He was the executive producer of the Bollywood-themed Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Bombay Dreams and of films such as The Guru for Universal Studios. Kapur set up Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation, and he has been on the jury of many international film festivals. He is a recipient of the Padma Shri and has been the President of the Film and Television Institute of India since 2020.
Jordi Mollà is a Spanish actor, filmmaker, writer and artist. He has acted in more than fifteen films and worked with several well known directors. He made his Hollywood debut in Blow, alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz. He has directed the short films Walter Peralta and No me importaria irme contigo. He is also the author of two books, Las Primeras Veces and Agua estancada. He has acted in the Spanish films Todo es Mentira, Los Años Bárbaros and El Pianista, to name a few. His English film career includes films like Bad Boys II, The Conspiracy, Knight and Day, Riddick, Ant-Man, Criminal, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and Ibiza. He has also promoted his career as a visual artist since 1995.
