As a solo traveler I recognize the melancholic feeling. I think we feel the same at home, but we have our people and our trinkets around us to distract us from it. Being alone forces you to think and that enhances the feeling. I love that you said you wouldn't want to be teleported back though because not every day is the same.
changing your outfit last minute and forgetting to take a picture or record is so real i fear😭 also that rat moment made me laugh. i hope your travelling continues to go well!!!! safe trips! ❤❤❤❤
this is my favorite travel vlog of yours 😭 made me feel so sweet, emotional, melancholic, and nostalgic.. what a beautiful whirlwind of emotions ❤️ always looking forward to seeing you and what you’re doing!!
Hiii, i really loved this kind of vlog about the reality of solo traveling, i feel like it's good to romanticize but it's also really helpful and inspiring to show the ups and downs and it has still left me in a really good mood like all of your videos do!!
i hope u get to post more of these videos!! I'm liking your recent solo travel vlogs lately; been watching u since my freshmen year, got delayed a little but your videos inspire me to keep going :)) (hope I graduate soon!) ty deborah for being such a comfort content creator, ur videos soothe me in a way that I can't really explain.
I just came across your channel and I wanted to say that I appreciate you and these videos. I enjoyed the honesty and the vulnerability that you showed. I believe that, even though the sorta introspective/melancholic vibe a lot of us feel at times during solo travel (or life for that matter) can sometimes border on loneliness, It can also be a beneficial medium through which we can learn a lot about ourselves and our environments. I’m going on a solo travel trip in a few weeks, including to Vietnam, and your videos definitely have me even more hyped. Looking forward to going through your other videos, and hopefully future ones as well!
It’s interesting to watch your travel vlog. I think I was of a similar mind in my early 20s and now being almost 35, I find that the energy and hustle of cities is tiresome and overwhelming and I almost always feel more alone in them, the mountains and small communities feel more like home. It puts me into a perspective. I also think that with age I grew more into who I am and being comfortable with being alone. It’s my preference anymore and the very few lonely moments I have pass so quickly that I just have time to acknowledge them. Great blog Deb! You’ve got such fun opportunities. Live it up!
I love your reflections in travels because I also feel this way. I feel weird feeling it but it's nice to know you and other viewers have similar experiences.
I am traveling in Hoi An solo at the moment too. I have had a great experience but understand what you mean by loneliness sometimes. I took an amazing cooking class at clay pot restaurant and a fun coffee class nearby old town too. I also got clothes made. I like traveling solo and enjoy journaling. Hoi An is so breathtaking at night. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!
Your videography is so insane, It was such an amazing experience to watch this video just because you really captured the whole vibe😭🫶 i love your videos so much
i'm also a city girl so i can totally relate to you abt feeling kinda lonely being outside of hà nội, but đà nẵng is still a busy city compared to some provinces here. i hope once day you would have a chance to travel to đà lạt to understand what i mean 😂 it's quietly beautiful and dreamy so it would be very healing to some people. but it's oddly too quiet for me and i don't like being left alone with only my thoughts which are full of blues and even sorrows. maybe slow life isn't for me idk 😂 btw it's lovely to see you taking your time and enjoy being here in việt nam 💕 love you so much 😘
Commenting to boost bc this video deserves more love!! Lovedd the cinematic shots in this one omg especially 17:22 - 17:39 the lanternss and the birds eye view shot 😲🧡
Be so, so proud of yourself for travelling solo. I've been watching for a while now and find so much comfort in your vlogs. Proud of your journey through life ❤
I don't know if you've watched Eat, Pray, Love, but there's this scene where a Balinese shaman named Ketut is so touched by the kindness he receives that he says, "You healed me." I've been watching your videos for a while and I think you're an artist, but today Deborah, you healed me. ❤️
when you were on the beach feeling homesickness you gave me vibes of kiki, idk the dress, the melancholic atmosphere, the coming of age feeling ajaja. hugs for u
Your solo travel diaries are amazing. Danang and Hoi An are good choices. We have a list of spot chosen by local guide in case you need to pick. Hope to see you in the next part of Vietnam travel serie! 😉✨
I am a citizen of Vietnam. It's great to see my country through your peaceful and lovely eyes. I hope you had a memorable trip. Vietnam seems to be more beautiful. I love your vlogs, as always 😊💓
I’m a new subscriber and your videos are comforting. I love the videography! I’ve only ever traveled solo within the states but don’t have the courage to travel abroad yet. Your videos motivate me to do so soon! 🙏
The way it bring me back to my memories of old Goa in early winter I am currently in 12th and missing these types of vibes stuck doing just studying is exhausting I wish I could travel to my favourite places like this
Hi sweetieee, I randomly listened to your videos while cooking lunch. It brought me the sense of chilling. I look at the screen and wow, i like your outfit and your voice. I have never travelled to a foreign country alone so it's so brave girl ❤ although our country - VN is quite safe. I've been to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, China but with a companian. Btw, i wonder how long you research to know all the places and food stores 'cause it surprised me. I lived in Danang for 6 years.😊 Next year I am gonna go to Korea, hopes everything works well
I also feel a little bit of sadness when solo traveling. Its like you appreciate and enjoy your own company but sometimes it would be a lot better to enjoy it with someone and have a good conversation.
Ahh this vlog brings me back to when i solo traveled to korea. I also hit that loneliness/melancholy feeling by the second week, but it’s a bittersweet feeling now that i look back 5 years later :’)
at 3:47 I need to know where you got that shirt! I need more just like cute t shirts.. Loved the vlog! Keep up the great work! 💓 every vlog feels like I get to go on an adventure!
I know you're from Washington but I wanna know if you've ever been to Olympic National Park and drove around that whole peninsula because it's absolutely gorgeous!
Did you consider trying to meet other solo travellers? I know it’s not for everyone, but hostels have lots of group activities/tours, and most have private room options (I know the shared room life is not for me)! Might have helped to stave off the loneliness 🙂
omg Deb i love you so so much. i'm your big fan from hanoi(i hoped that i can accidentally met you some where) and i am glad you have a good time in vietnam. hope we can meet someday that i will take you to some more beautiful places. however, the dish that you have in 16:46 is named cao lau, not cau lao :))))))) still welcome to vietnam we love you
