@@mojito8948 It has been a tradition since TK4 that Lee says "Excellent" at the end of every ending/epilogue. It became a little catphrase among fans. But now they have him saying it all the time and threw in "Marvelous" and "Great". It makes him look goofy despite him formerly being a serious character.
T4 Heihachi will be proud of the amount of just frames Lee has in T8. Excellent!

It's pretty but if there's nothing breakable to go to a new place in the mansion or garden, then it's pretty weak.

Lee looks badass and his moves are even more aethetically pleasing now. The animations, presets, the smoothness of the combos. Everything looks so good.
I find it funny how Tekken 4 was the big comeback of Kazuya...and Lee, cause ever since then Lee has been getting quite a lot of attention from the devs, having a character he created debut in T4, getting a pivotal role in T6, Tag 2 and T7 and now getting his own stage in the form his EXCELLENT mansion in T8, very nice, I'm glad Lee still gets to shine.
Actually Lee debuted in T2 but it's very old and he was one of the extra characters in the game

Lee's new slide only knocks down only on counter hit btw, on normal hit it's just +3 and forces the opponent to crouch
yeah only +3 and MINUS 15 ON BLOCK, why is such a slow underwhelming low launch punishable? its beyond me
@@tigrisrgn4062 it depends how its spaced, at max range its safe at like -9 I believe, realistically you should never use it point blank from what ive seen but from a mid range where its like -11 to -13
My take? They're trying to swap his power low. Slide got a huge nerf for sure but look at db3. That little poke is a heat engager, talk about a glow-up

It's very subtle (especially in that scream 7:06), but I think the voice of the characters has been altered to eccho, since they are in a spacious, closed saloon. Nice detail 👍.
According to Arsenalty's breakdown of Lee, all just frame inputs turn into normal inputs during heat, which sounds just insane. You still get a small damage increase if you do hit the just frames still tho

The slide only knocks down on CH
Slide knocks down only in CH, if not you're give a few frames of advantage. Also, if you do the slide far enough it will be safe at -9
I cannot wait to get my hands on with game with Lee. I always played with him here and there but in T7, I don’t know, I really started to play with him a lot there. T8 will definitely be continuing that trend from what I see here. Loving the new animations.
I just hope they kept Lees high backflip and didn't ruin it like they did to Laws.

b3+4 (new kick) couldn't be "steel pedal" cos it's a high, isn't it?
1,2,4 change is so cool, also gives u +5 now u can pick frames or damage (acid rain)
Mainman missed this cuz he had counter hit on but slide no longer knocks down on normal hit huge nerf imo.
It leaves you plus 3 on regular hit which sets up the opponent for a mixup opportunity. We gotta wait and see but it may be better than the regular knockdown

They have been getting rid of all really fast launchers, it seems... Yoshimitsu's Flash doesn't launch on normal hit anymore and there are no more magic 4... Does it counter hit launch, anyone knows? I can't remember right now...
he's almost exactlee the same character as he was before. Honestly a bit disappointed compared with other characters like Bryan, Hwoarang and Dragunov.
As a Lee main (sucker) myself, I felt exactly the same. They took a lot of risk on the outfit but not on the gameplay... weird

Had the same opinion when I saw the trailer lee outfit it was goddamn UGLY shit. So happy that Lee is still hard to play he was my favorite in tekken and thank god he’s wearing a nice suit on his alternates.

Unless it's been changed in T8, you can't duck the second hit of 4 3 4 because you're jailed on block. You have to sidestep the backflip or interrupt it, which opens you up to getting hit by 4 3 3.
yeh thats what i was thinking, it doesnt jail but the last hit isnt a high its a mid at -9 so it is safe, the only way to punish is jab interrupt before the flip kick comes out. So glad they didnt gut my main and make him an easy mode character
@DomoSensei The flip can also be stepped in T7, but it's not the easiest to see coming unless they spam it, and if they removed the jailing of 4 3, then oooof.

My main is Heihachi in 7, but I've only been playing for about 6 months.
With him "missing" now, could Lee replace the old man fathery figure?
Reina is nice but everyone and their mother will be playing her, so I've been thinking of other options.

I mained them both in T7, it really depends on what you want, if you are into really technical stuff then he is perfect cuz Hei could also be really technical, but if you werent into doing all the technical stuff with Hei then he probably isnt the best pick if you are looking for something similar to Hei, Lee has a lot of very technical stuff that is unique to him, if you play Hei then things like electrics and wave dash will translate over to other characters like Kaz and Jin, with Lee all his technical stuff is unique to him so you could be putting in a lot of time for stuff that will only work with him
Basically if you are into very execution heavy characters that focus on CH then he is amazing, but he isnt a rush down bulldog like Hei is so idk if you would like him as much if you love to bully your opponent. He is one of those characters that you really need to invest A LOT of time into to use him at his full potential so just keep that in mind, I personally love him so I say why not? But if you are looking for someone with a somewhat similar playstyle to Hei then you might want to try someone like Dragunov cuz he is more suited to that aggressive "let me breathe" style of play
@@Section8dc Huge thanks man! Yeah, I really enjoy the presure aspect of Hei's style, and wall stuff, of course. I can pull off omen and electrics with good consistency, but it can always be improved, right?
Maybe I'll give Lee a shot and see how that works, if I'm happy with how much time would have to be invested to be decent with him. Thanks again!

I think Lee is perfect for anyone that loves very technical high execution characters, I personally live for that shit so I love Lee to death. He can be played aggressively as well but he doesn't have a ton of plus frames to build pressure, a lot of his pressure is based around the threat of his Hitman Stance, if you love wall stuff then he is right up your alley cuz once you get good with him you will reach the wall almost every single time lol
But like I said all of his technical stuff is unique to him and I always tell people that its a huge commitment to become good with him so all that work will not translate to any other character, but imo he is the single most fulfilling character to play, learning the ins and outs becomes worth it in the end but its a long road for most people to get to that point. As mainman put it so well "Lee is really good, but not as good as the amount of work you have to put into him", he truly is a character you play cuz you love him
