Currently in Scottish League 1, Cove Rangers FC are the newest club in the SPFL. In this video I take a look around Cove Bay Harbour as well as their home ground Balmoral Stadium.
They are based just outside of Aberdeen and Aberdeen FC are their local rivals. Will they ever get promoted up to the Scottish Premiership to play them? Who knows!

Is it always this sunny here?!
No it’s not tbh that’s very lucky to have sun in scotland
The east coast is usually sunnier than the west due to the prevailing Atlantic westerlies that hit Scotland’s west
@Andrew Johnston I know!
@@twitchsoljaf1951 Haha buzzing!
@@Rathardican Ah nice good to know!
It is amazing how you can find places like this so close to the big cities in Scotland
Can’t believe you posted my local team on my birthday👍
Oh cool! Happy birthday, have a great day!
Happy birthday mate
@@FootyAdventures cheers
@@celticdaft1084 cheers mate
A good, well set up team. They have a number of players who played at a good level - Mitch Megginson (captain) who played for Aberdeen, Fraser Fyvie who played for Wigan and won an FA Cup winners medal with them, Hibs (Scottish cup winners medal and Championship winners medal) and Dundee United, Rory McAllister (ex Peterhead striker), Leighton McIntosh who looks good for them and had ex Inverness Caley Thistle LB Roy McBain in the past.
A number of players have employment in local companies, I suspect because the directors are well connected to entrepreneurs in the Aberdeen area and it's good for players who have had to drop down the leagues. Their manager is ex Hearts player Paul Hartley.
A genuinely well run club who deserve their success.
That’s actually quite interesting I never knew that
9:05 You had astroturf in school 😲All we had in my day was red ash 😂
Great video, Sam. Talk about always taking the weather with you...wow! Made it stunning throughout. Looks a great place to visit.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey great video Mitch Megginsons goals have definitely helped with their promotions, plus their manager is Paul Hartley who used to be Dundee manager he's done very well with Cove Rangers
Your style is crisp, clear and easy to listen to. I always make a point of watching your videos. Good on ya. 👍
Cheers! Really appreciate that 😀
Start of the video looks like a banging COD map.
Haha yeah true!
You have inspired me so much to travel up to Scotland
Nice! Yeah I'd recommend it when you can!
Love the videos. Local of Aberdeen and recent goer of Cove games. Lots of good investment into the team, management and facilities. Some good players, ex Aberdeen FC players and Fyvie who played for Wigan.
Nice! Would love to go to a game there!
Class video as always mate 👍 looking forward to the Queen of the South video because I have family living down there
Thank you! I hope to get down there soon!
Great video and keep up the great content!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Another brilliant video you are doing some travelling mate 🏴⚽🏴⚽🏴⚽
Thanks 👍
Nice one again,it was so like Penrith lol.
another one down keep it up all the best.
Haha I know it's so funny how alike they are!
What a lovely place ☀️
Absolutely!
Anyone else watch his videos in Scotland and think about moving there.
Haha that's a glowing reference! Cheers!
Cove isnt even the nicest place in and around Aberdeen
Loving the videos as per!
Thanks Ross!!
It is amazing how many people mistake Balmoral Stadium with Balmoor Stadium which you visited with your Peterhead video. You play in plastic studded boots on that surface or AG specific boots, never metal studded boots as you are likely to get them stuck inthe turf and cause yourself bad injuries
It's mad how similar the stadium names are!
You should definitely hit 1000000 views by the end of this week. Hope you have something planned for it.
Great videos
Really enjoyed watching this. I lived in Cove in the early 80’s. Not a suburb but a village in it’s own right. I cheered on the local amateurs, Cove Forest, as the pitch was next to the house. Loved the harbour. Even better during a storm. Did see Cove play a friendly against my team, Aberdeen. Enjoyed that one too.
Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed!
Discovered you by accident last night when your visit to Aberdeen popped up on my feed. Spent my childhood at Pittodrie. In Radcliffe now and used to follow Bury across the NW. Visited some terrible grounds in the 90’s, including Tranmere, Crewe and Bolton‘s old supermarket end. 😃
@@chriskelman9848 nice! Glad you came across my videos, I really enjoyed aberdeen! Hopefully I can visit a few of the clubs you mentioned there soon!
I spent 6 months at the cove bay hotel when I worked in Aberdeen back in the late 90s and the players use to come in the bar and play pool ,whenever I played they never called me George ,all I got was ' ay Grimsby you playing he shot or what ' lol great set of lads lovely place as well
u been gettin some lovely weather these past few vids. Hope you're at least enjoying the views even when you can't get into the stadiums. ;) It is very similar to Penrith
Yeah loving it mate!
Someone just asked where Cove are from! I have referred them here. Brilliant stuff.
These videos are amazing. Hey dude, ever fancy doing a UK non-league tour?
Thank you! Yeah I'm defo planning on more non league grounds in the coming months!
Really enjoying your videos mate. I’ve sat for about the best part of an hour watching them all. Are u going to do the junior stadiums? There will be a few in Glasgow to check out
Legend, thanks so much! Really appreciate you watching. Yeah for sure, I've done a few junior clubs in the past few months but have plans to do even more!
@@FootyAdventures You should look at the nonleaguescotland website. Covers all senior and junior clubs outside the SPFL. I think there is still a few grounds they don't have pictures of yet so you could send them yours.
@@tonyh7994 I'll check them out!
Great video, there's some decent junior teams stadiums as well to visit, Largs Thistle Auchinleck Talbot Cambuslang Rangers Clydebank etc
Yeah I'll get to a few more of them soon!
I remember they were going to create a Cambuslang Celtic
In the early 90s when Celtic were going through a bad patch, Celtic were talking about building a new stadium in Cambuslang, but it fell through and they stayed at Celtic Park
First class my man
Have you considered doing some videos on the N.Ireland Premier League grounds? Some great little stadiums over here and a couple of larger ones too. 12 teams in all.
Yes mate definitely! I'm planning on going over in 2021 😊🙌
@The 90's the oval looks amazing!
The oval in Belfast is a shit hole
Why is there something so satisfying about looking at that park with the 50 seats
Haha absolutely!
Been following Cove Rangers for a couple of years..They've dominated their opposition...Only draw 500 - 600 per match but they are definately headed up - a wonderful side
Fair enough, will be interesting to see where they end up!
@@FootyAdventures At least the Championship
Cheers dude 🥃🇬🇧🎥
Thanks mate!
One more tick of the list ⚽️⚽️⚽️🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

Looks like a proper stadium that! 🙌🏻
It's decent to be fair!
0:57 that looks amazing
Plastic Pitches need to be replaced.
Try taking scans of different positions - ie from Distance & exterior to inside the ground - the corners, top of a bank overlooking different areas of grounds (not just ground level), shots along the terraces - it's what the locals see every game (not 'the distance travellers'). Not trying to be negative, just adding a few more ideas that might make your presentation a touch more interesting (make up a template of data / information to mention during the vids), Name the Venue - Club Colours Home & Away, Nicknames, which is the 'Home Supporters' end / side, is there a club shop, social club on site - or nearest Pubs, Chippies, Coffee shops- ie Local facilities for a social Before & After games, just general information for 'first time' supporters, might help a little. Great work & a lot of Fun too. Lets have more. Cheers.
My team at last we have slipped under the radar a bit the size has been stunning I still have to pinch my self some times
Glad I could cover them, would love to see a match there some day!
@@FootyAdventures I have some pictures of allan park i shall try find them if I can its worth noting that a lot of there resent successes was all done as a homeless club wile this place was built definitely come for a game it's a friendly wee place I don't want to tempt fate but we have a 100% home league record since we joined amazing don't you think
excellent fit phone are you using great pictures
Thank you! I use a sony camera for my pics!
Been waiting for this video
Hope it was worth the wait!
@@FootyAdventures yeah definitely, I shared it into their supporters group on Facebook
Also players can wear studs just not metal ones though

@@FootyAdventures cove fans are liking the vid, should try join the group on Facebook
Lovely views 2nd time in aberdeen
Have to stay alive Sam to visit Cove Rangers FC .
Cove won their last Highland League title before moving into Balmoral iirc, I believe they were nomadic for three years, playing home games at Inverurie, Formartine and Banks of Dee after selling Allan Park in 2015.
Oh cool good to know!
Used to go doon there as kids and build fires and drink cans that i swiped fae my dads stash haha. Good times, beautiful place
Haha nice! And thanks!
@@FootyAdventures great vids mate watched them all 👍
Superb
Thank you! Cheers!
I Notice the highland league starts on Saturday coming (nov28th)clubs just playing 15 game short season, forres mechanics have withdrawn but crowds are allowed at 11 of the 16 grounds as they fall in highland region level 1
That’s where I live. Played on that pitch yesterday aswell.
I was just thinking it looks like Days Gone
Nice! Looks like a good surface
Great video. i'll be sad when you run out of clubs to visit, you could always do all the non league clubs. lol
For sure! There's still LOADS of vids I need to make. For a lot of the clubs I've only seen the outside. But also I've got plans to do videos in other countires :)
Looking forward to it already. 😉
@@FootyAdventures
Never been to this place, but did once have a look at their ground, Allen Park. It had the shortest, stubbiest floodlight pylons I've ever seen. Very spick and span, well kept, like Highland league grounds usually are. This place doesn't look any bigger than Allen Park, which has now had expensive housing built on it. I assume they made money by selling one ground and building another and that may account for their recent success, too.
Iv watched your last 4 videos all today. Grear viewing. Im a big fan of artificial pitches. As iv said before they should be allowed in England.
Cheers for watching them all!
When u come to Northern Ireland.. Make sure you go to the.. causeway costal route.. voted top 5 Road trips in the world!! A good way of reaching the northern clubs from Belfast, 👍
Sounds great! Cheers for the tip! 2021 I'll be over!
@@FootyAdventures 👍.. Can't wait to see the videos
Cove cove mighty cove
The reason cove rangers are where they are is mainly due to buying their way into the leagues and loaning all the Dundee United b team
Was trying to send you some old pictures of games at Allen park apologise I cant seem to find a way to do it
This guy has been to every stadium in Scotland
Absolutely! Not many vloggers go to Cove!
Dude that's one of the reasons why our country is called BONNIE SCOTLAND!
Did you go to Banks O Dee FC while you were there? I like the name of that club and the stadium is beside the river.
Spain Park 👍
The lost ball in river & someone picked it up in North of Norway
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-40070744
The black bits is called fibres and yes you are allowed to play on Astro with studs
Ah cool, good to know, cheers mate
Was looking forward to going there in a couple of weeks but unfortunately that's not going to happen now. Am I wrong or have Cove now moved away from the village into Aberdeen
It's about mile and a half west of there old ground still in cove just
Keith lord of alba Scotland thanks, never been to any of the grounds. Was looking forward to going but will need to wait until the new year now
Fabulous video. Now some that some English grounds are welcoming supporters back into their grounds from 2nd December, the clueless Scottish government needs to start allowing Scottish Clubs from the Championship down the ranks to welcome theirs. Especially for the likes of Cove Rangers, Stranraer, Arbroath, Montrose. Well literally everyone, including Queen’s Park who are still playing in Hampden Park with a average gate of 500 for heaven’s sake. I’m not naming names, but the Holyrood Assembly need to get their act together and give the lifeline these clubs so desperately need.
Yep, surely Scotland wont be far behind! Maybe they wanna see how it pans out first?
They can follow examples like Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County from Highland League to Premier League even Inverness Caledonian won there first trophy and qualified for europe
Yeah true!
@@FootyAdventures Ross County is a lovely team but why not a Highland double of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County and one of my family members is called Ross although he wasn’t named after the football club
Get yourself to sweet Sadie's when go to queen of the south it's just down road from the stadium
Its Baltic tho mate.
Kin freezing.
I may be early
Thanks for watching!
I remember when I played in that ground and blasted a pen over
Ah shame!
Falkiek bet them yesterday! 💙💙💙
Falkirk
Yes I saw!
Kelty Hearts should be the newest team in the SPFL.
I saw them play list night! Video will be up in a few minutes :)
Don't forget Brora Rangers they got the same treatment as Kelty Hearts I suspect they will face each other in the p,layoff this year but nothing is definite theres some very good teams in the High league not to mention the lowland league and the bottom team in the lowest scotish decision in the past have proven they can be really stre8 wise when it comes to a one off survival game
@@davemitchell7330 I think Brechin got off very lightly in 2019/20. I couldn't see them beating either Brora or Kelty had the play offs taken place, that is assuming Brora were serious about wanting promotion to the SPFL, which in the past their intentions have been dubious
Cove rangers are the best club
Cheers for watching!
Did u see anyone from club
I think this plastic grass ıt was should be natural grass. But is very nice stadium.
highland league
Cove Rangers are the first of many new additions to the SPFL that will fly through the lower leagues. The East of Scotland and West of Scotland leagues are of a far higher standard than anything in League Two and most of League One from what I saw last season. It's sad for all the Scottish lower league clubs who will be relegated to non league in the coming years but overall its a big positive in Scottish football.
Interesting to hear your comment! It's certainly going to be mad to see who is up and who is down over the next decade or so
God made Scotland first and then the rest of earth.
if oor wullie never had any family would it of been called my wullie?
Why wear a mask when you’re outside
Its almost a carbon copy of Penrith FC ........
Melodies on plastic pitches
