Well a winter storm has arrived here on the property. This has been the most snow we have seen since we have moved here. I believe it was around 10 inches. The dogs were absolutely having a blast. While we were walking around, a trespasser shows up and we were terrified at first! After that was settled, the kids had a awesome time. Thank you all for being here, we appreciate you! Enjoy!

If you have snow as you do now, put a bowl of snow in with the rabbits and chickens and they will eat it for water.

When my children were young I went out with them and some ice cream containers and made blocks out off snow and built a igloo it come out grate ❤🏴👍

We live in Michigan and it is common for the kids to use trash bags for sledding.. Make sure they are heavy ones and they work really well.. My kids preferred them over their sleds and they are relatively cheap and most people already have them in the house//

I found a neat little gizmo for processing rabbits. It's called a hopper popper. I am raising rabbits and found this to be very humane. Wasn't sure if you'd heard of it. Love your place. Beautiful with the snow.

I still remember one winter I was about 9 years old we had a three day blizzard and on the second night we went outside at about 8 pm and went ice skating on our street!! Outstanding drone and camera footage! Just beautiful! When we were kids, we used anything we could find for makeshift sleds too. The snow shovel with the handle as a way to hold on and to "guide" us down. Cardboard in a trash bag and we'd get our legs and behinds inside the bag to keep us a little dryer. This was a fun video! Time 3:50......beautiful shot with the flag, snow, and house. And yep, at my place in utah, last week we got that much snow. It's working on melting on the south side, but the north facing areas are still pretty much still deep. Prayers for Southern California, Monrovia where i grew up is burning. So sad. Mismanagement of water and forests are to blame. Too much devastation everywhere.❤
We got 4 feet over 4 days last week. Couldnt get the front door open...hubby had to push! Hope all goes well for you guys during this snowfall. 👍❄️👍

Anthony, when you were talking about those large icicles when you were stationed in Germany reminded me of the ones when I was a young child (many many years ago). I remember how huge they were and big around hanging from the barn roof and trees etc. They are so very pretty when the sun shines on them.

My chickens love the snow. They are free-range and play in it all day. I think they like digging under it and the leaves getting bugs.

The snow is beautiful and the kids love it! We got 3 to 4 inches here in Georgia, usually we don’t get any or just a dusting. The done footage was awesome. ❤❤❤❤❤stay safe and warm❤❤❤
My dad used to snowblow our two car driveway all into one huge pile by the house. I didn't know it, but my brothers and all of their friends tunneled into the pile, and made a fort, burning candles to ice pack the roof. I woke up one morning, and the pile was almost as high as our roof. So I got out a ladder, grabbed my sled, and slid off the roof thinking I'd make it out to the road. Once I cleared the eaves, it was a straight drop down about 6 feet into a bunch of laps. It was fun....lol
Now is the time to mark the trees with colored tape.... ! You can see the ones that need to be removed when the snow melts.

As kids we would build snow-forts and stock pile us a bunch of snowballs behind the wall and have snowball fights. Oh the memories that are going through my head now.
Absolutely beautiful b roll from the drone with all that snow! 💯❤️ We got some Samsung Smarttag2 and silicone pet protector thingies to put them in that attach to their collars or harness. It tracks the cat and dog! There is an app for free and no monthly fees! Love it! They work with newer samsung phones, but if you have iphones, im pretty sure they have itags thingies too. ❤

You can have All the Snow! I grew up in New England! Icicles are pretty; but when they are hanging off your roof; it’s a sign of heat loss.
Here is Kansas City Mo we received 9 inches, after nothing but 1/2 inch of ice.

Do you not think to put like a shelter over your electrical on the side of the house like your front porch. It would keep the snow off and still keep it open. So in love with your scenery . So beautiful.

You could always nail some shingles on to your steps so you won't slip and slide when it gets wet. That's what we did to my mom's steps and I worked out perfect.

There are rolls of a sandpaper like black tape that you can purchase at the hardware store. The only problem is you have to stick them on when the steps are dry and I think above 50 degrees. I use it here in NE Wisconsin and it works well and lasts for years.

Nice place!!👍🏾 Dogs are more resilient and can take colder weather…I have outdoor dogs and they all sleep outside in minus weather under shelter..It’s good to give them beef fat in cold weather which warms them up !!

The snow is beautiful but when it melts it’s messy but I wish we could get some of that beautiful snow.
We always went to the junkyard and got a big old car hood. Put four or five kids on it and go down a couple times and you pack the snow good and then the smaller sleds go down like a breeze!

We used to build snow forts we used buckets packed the snow in an then dumped it out an kept shape stacked them up it was so much fun.

I wonder if plastic soda bottles will fit those screw tops for the rabbits water bottles, if so you can just have extra soda bottles filled with water to change out, rather than having to run them in hot water.

Anthony, I lived on the base in Hohenfels as a kid back in the late 60's. We would sled down that hill from the picnic area down to the parking lot in front of the apartment buildings.
