Yes! This is exactly what I needed! I was under the impression you had to remove the yarn from the carriage and do something unusual! I think i can do this! And I enjoyed the casual conversation and thanks for the kind words, too!
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU. Finally my hat brim worked. Thank you so much for doing a stitch by stitch brim. I am soooooooooooo thrilled with my result.
Awesome tutorial Suzi. Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video. I absolutely love this type of brim. I am making quite a few of these hats for local charities.
Thanks for the great tutorial! I just ordered my Addi Pro; and can't wait to receive it! Gonna start slow with scarves, and then I'll order the King!!!
Thank you for this! I recently got an Addi King Size and was trying to make folded brim hats since I hate the rolled brim. I had the right idea, but seeing it up close I can see where I was going wrong! I didn't make sure the picked up stitch and the regular knitted stitch were both being knitted.
I noticed you are pulling a different loop of yarn than what I have been doing. I am using the yarn between the loop your using. No wonder it always looks like a bigger space than others I have seen. Sure glad I watched this one more time. Thanks
I really appreciate this video! It was great to see it close up and in real time. I live in Florida so the reversible hats seem a little heavy to me. I have done a few with roll brims, but mostly end up hand crocheting which doesn't always look neat at the pickup. This will be great! Robin
The old Legare machines used to use weights to keep their tension even. you can mount the addi over a dining room table that will split open in the middle, run waste yarn, plenty, tie it in the centre, and drop a soft ball in the middle. This keeps tension even! Go with something a little lighter weight for a bit looser knit, you have to experiment:)
I totally loved you video!!! I'm truly thinking about buying a Addi so I thought the best place to start learning before I buy was to come to UA-cam and learn, and I'm glad I found this video!!! Could you tell me what kind of yarn weights and yarn types work on the Addi without spending a lot of money, as I want to also make caps and donate them to the hospital in my area along with making them form schools in my area. Thanks for any help and advice Suzy!!!!
Canada has 2 seasons: winter and preparing for winter! Salut de Nouveau Brunswick! Winter is officially here, Nov. 28, 2014. We are just getting our first substantial amount of snow for the season:) I have seen that video, the sock video done by the German lady, a person who really knows what she is doing(or, got the design from the manual you can purchase). If you watch the YT videos for the Legare or any model of the CAMs aka circular sock machine, from the early 1900s, her method is modeled after those. As is the addi modelled after those machines. But, those machines are pricier, going from $700+ on EBay, or, up to $2500 by the very few(I only know of 2), companies on the planet, that produce them new. What our lady ancestors did with those machines for their families, is truly amazing. Many of these machines were made in Quebec and probably can be found on many old farm or general store properties. I have seen some from Manitoba and on kijiji, from New Brunswick.
Great and clear tutorial. Can you show how to do the farisle on the addi? I tried this but ended with verticle rows of each color not sure if that is how it's supposed to look.
Great video glad I found it. My one question I have is what do do when a stitch doesn't drop and you didn't see it happen after you already went around it happened in your video at the time 22:44 you can see number 15 does not have yarn around the two prong things.. sorry I don't know what to call it when this happens.. I've had it happen to me and I would grab another stitch but it always makes a hole and I don't know what to do... I hope I explained that right..
that is not a big thing. It is easily correct with using a latch tool or a crochet hook to redo what had been dropped.. Its like you do when you want to do ribbing, if you undo your stitches they can be done over eg. ua-cam.com/video/4g534u90JPw/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/m-asbja-mYA/v-deo.html
Brenda, once you take it off the addi with the needle you just pull it tight and the hat will close then you just sew the top like a plus sign, thats it.
This is perfect! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Suzy. I think I understand it now and I am going to attempt this in a little bit when I finish my friends infinity scarf. One question. .. how many rows or rotations of waste yarn did you do?
Thank you so much. Yes it is an excellent instructional video and I could see exactly what you were picking up. I am so happy to have found this group. :)
Great video I just got my addi . I have a question are you grabbing every stitch like loom knitting a brim or every other stitch? My vision is bad it’s one of the reasons I got the addi.
Thank you for showing how to knit a brim. It is a technique I will use. By the way, when a brave soul emerges with a stocking video, please let our community know in English. It would be helpful.
Here is a playlist for teaching.. I have a categorized playlist of all addi videos on my channel you should check out ua-cam.com/play/PLPoBpP8fXMV7g59bAPb3-jbRMdQIlRs7q.html
If you are talking about the knitted stitch, you have to make sure each one is knitted individually correctly, if it is stuck up over the white lip it will not knit properly.. See Addi Tips and Tricks ua-cam.com/video/cgz758TeJh0/v-deo.html
+Kelley this is a very common problem.. It is the static of the yarn that throws off the counter.. Try holding down the button a few seconds to reset. You could try a sheet of bounce or similar under the feeding yarn. A humidifier in the room sometimes helps.. See the file in the group for other ideas as there was a document made on this subject.
I would say Google is your best friend.. Look for addi express king size for the best deal you can find.. There are sometimes sales... I would recommend Mary Maxim, Woolery, Paradise Fibers, amazon etc.

Rose, you should not be getting loops. Make sure you started off with waste yarn as this will make it easier to see your stitches, also watch your tension perhaps will knitting the brim over.
I watched the making a brim hat. I had two different people talking at the same time. i was very confused. I could see how to from watching the video, but the didn't really know anything from the voices.

well you are one step ahead of me :) Did you watch the answerladies video on it?
Hello, can you please show me how to put the white row? Thank you very much, excellent video 👍🏻😊🇨🇷

hi suzy, could you please do a tutorial how to knit a baby dress using the addi machine. thanks a lot for your awesome tutorials.
Do not mind a longer video as you are going slow to teach us how to make a Brim on the hat. We appreciate you very much. Thank you
Thank You!
Great tips..
Brenda, once you take it off the addi with the needle you just pull it tight and the hat will close then you just sew the top like a plus sign, thats it.

Hi Ty. why do I get loops where I join the brim ty.
Pls do a tutorial to do the farisle close up. I tried the othe video but its hard to see since there is no close up. Thanks
This is perfect! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Suzy. I think I understand it now and I am going to attempt this in a little bit when I finish my friends infinity scarf. One question. .. how many rows or rotations of waste yarn did you do?
I am so glad it helped...I did two rows of waste yarn
Thank you so much. Yes it is an excellent instructional video and I could see exactly what you were picking up. I am so happy to have found this group. :)

My Kindle 's. auto correct is sneaking in undesired corrections: those machines are CSMs ie. circular sock machines.
Great video I just got my addi . I have a question are you grabbing every stitch like loom knitting a brim or every other stitch? My vision is bad it’s one of the reasons I got the addi.
You would grab every stitch
Ok thanks
Does anyone know of a tutorial for making a rasta beanie?
What is waste yarn and how do you do it?
How do I maintain the Addi. When does it need it?
Thank you for showing how to knit a brim. It is a technique I will use. By the way, when a brave soul emerges with a stocking video, please let our community know in English. It would be helpful.

how do you do this, but with changing the color for the main hat and brim being different colors?

hi Brittany
how many rows do you do with the waste yarn?
I would say about 4 rows would be sufficient

Why are you pushing the yarn down? Are you pushing both down or just one?
If you are talking about the knitted stitch, you have to make sure each one is knitted individually correctly, if it is stuck up over the white lip it will not knit properly.. See Addi Tips and Tricks ua-cam.com/video/cgz758TeJh0/v-deo.html
My counter seriously skips, unless I turn the handle backward. Can't understand why it works best that way.
Aonde eu posso comprar ?
Jamaica, Amazon has them. :)
What size yarn did you use?
+Anaya Bakhshi bernat premium
What's the name of yarn that you are using on the Addi?

Can size 3 be used?

+Suzy Notting AddiKingLoomersandKnits If you are talking about yarn, a worsted weight yarn is the best for addi
