Synopsis:
DAAG is a story of a man convicted of murder, on the run from the law. Sunil (Rajesh Khanna) is forced to leave behind his new bride Sonia (Sharmila Tagore), when he kills her would-be rapist.
In an attempt to establish a new identity Sunil meets Chandni (Rakhee) and ends up marrying her to give her illegitimate child a father’s name.
Now a respected Mayor of his town, Sunil’s past catches up with him and brings together Sunil and Sonia but the long arm of the law is just a step behind... Can he outrun his destiny for long?

Daag as a movie is pure magic. 'Love is life' is the tagline. The Rajesh-Sharmila romantic track is one of the best ever in the Hindi movies of the 1970s, and on par with their romantic track in Aradhana. Raakhee in a supporting role and no songs with the hero was the picture of grace and dignity, and it earned her a pivotal role in Yash Chopra's Kabhi Kabhie opposite Amitabh, afew years later.

I had seen this movie and song in Vasai taluka of Mumbai about 40 years back. The lyrics of this gem...my God, Sahir Ludhianvi sahib has woven together pure magic. Sheer poetry in motion! Bollywood doesn’t make songs or films like this anymore. This golden time will never come in history again. I’m a child of the 80’s but I feel emotionally connected to films and music of the decades 1960’s through 1990’s. 90’s were my high school and college days and I honestly think the last traces of decent Bollywood films and music ended in the mid 90’s. After that it’s all been copy, paste, repeat. I feel blessed to be part of a generation that can truly appreciate music like this. May these beautiful memories live on and on through the magic of technology!
There is a popular debate that will never end. Kishore Da was the voice of Kaka. Many say KK made Kaka a, star. Some say Kaka was the making of KK. One thing is for sure KK with his voice would be a legend anyways - destined to be a great. Kaka was talented and had hits even with other playback singers

It is because i missed these numbers so much that i created songs in RDB's tribute which will transport any music lovers to 60's and 70's era of incredibly melodious world. this song is very special for me because I proposed my girlfriend way back in 2010 by singing this song in my college senior farewell. i was on stage and i was continuously looking into here eyes while singing the romantic lines of this song. and on the way of leaving, I talked her fr the first time and i asked "did you liked my song"..she repled: yes. and then i asked: will you come to college on Monday(because i was shy to ask, my foolishness). she said: yes. and then i left and my hands were shivering while riding the bike at 8 PM night.
and after one year of talking and all, we finally married in 2015 and now we are the proud parents of a 2 year sweet cute boy.
I thank you all the people who were with me always. this song is very special for me.
