Remember that if you have a restricted budget, you don't necessarily need a whole new rifle. An extra upper, set up with a mid range optic, will work great. Or just some high quality qd mounts so you can switch optics.
What I learned from an Active Threat Training through my job, is that there is an increase attacks on open area events. Average range of attack is about 100yds and max range 400 yds. Why an increase attacks of open areas, is due to the inability to completely secure or lock down the area. Security can prevent attendees carrying in weapons, but can't prevent a shooter with a rifle shooting from outside of the event area into the event area. Furthermore open areas has multiple weak points for someone to sneak in. Indoor events, the building alone makes it a harder target. I am glad to see a gun channel in Pennsylvania.
I’ve tried LPVOs, holographics, red dots, and a modern heavy MPVO. I’ve arrived at the end conclusion that I prefer a lightweight 3-9x40 with a piggyback MRDS as my “do it all” option. I’d rather become intimately familiar with one system that you can train from 10 to 600 yards than 3 setups “tailored” for different use cases. Which one are you going to grab bro? You think you’re just going to be able to switch it out when the landscape changes under your feet? #doubt
14.5 pinned. Is a perfect all-around rifle. If you can. Get an 11.5. SBR the lower. Being behind a rifle for a long period. ..... 14.5 is perfect. 10.3 for at night, but there's nothing scarier than returning fire with a 10.3
Using any "rifle" for self-defense is arguably harder to justify. James reevs went over a study that found that even if you use an AR style rifle for defense, you are more likely to be charged for manslaughter. So, at that point, I dont think a carbine vs. midlength matters much.
I don’t have the ability to shoot past 100 yards here on O’ahu, I have to fly over to Moloka’i then I have up to a mile. I guess I can up-fit my LWRCi M6IC Di 16” to a DMR build by increasing the magnification of the LPVO (1-10x) to an MPVO in the 2x+ range.
Going with a bolt action for my mid-range needs. Ruger American Ranch in 6.5 Grendel with a Leopold 3x9 with caliber specific adjustment knobs, and a Harris ultralight bipod.
I love midrange rifles myself. My favorite rifle to take to the range is my bastardized MK12 clone with a 18” BCM upper and fixed A2 stock. It wouldn’t be my “go to” if I could only grab one rifle but it’s great.
Bought an in expensive primary arms 4-14 for a cheap 18” build I have…. After using it very little it so tempting to put on my main squeeze 16” or get a 14.5” pin and weld for it….
As a fellow Pennsylvanian I respectfully disagree in only your choice of caliber I prefer and would recommend a 308/7.62x51 especially for as you said a mid range rifle and will preform better at putting food on the table in most cases but then again this is a really big state so your part of the country might not be as open as mine so to each is own but on everything else you said id say you hit the nail right on the head great video
A reasonable thought process. I've always thought modern minutemen should avoid close quarters battle at all costs for many reasons that should be self evident.
Oh, hey Jared. It's me, John. Liked, already subbed, and sharing. I'd like to purchase more outstanding TA Products, but my cc is maxed out from the last 7 systems I bought. Which I love.
Really like your content recently. Right in the same track with you brother. I am really local to you and really happy to see like minded and similarly capable people close to me.
True but a 308 system will not be compatable with anyone in your group most likely. Ammo and the whole settup weigh far more and cost nearly twice as much for a good ar10 that is sub moa. You can get great 5.56 guns for 1500 or less that shoot sub moa and follow a mil spec parts standardization. And good ammo out of a 16-20in 5.56 with good ammo is balistically capable out to 600yards any day. Not on something like elk but this video wasn't about elk.
We have some work to do as a society to be able to compare with our ancestors at the time of America’s founding, both when it comes to gun culture as well as our morality and grit.

And I don't say that to denigrate the awesome company you've built, but to quote Brad Pitt in Interview With the Vampire: ''You lack the courage of your convictions, sir.'' There should not be a Dem or RINO stiII drawing breath today... Introduce SIeepy Joe to the lovely Norma Magnum, and *then* I'll take you seriously as a rifleman and a patriot... If I wasn't trapped in the UK, I'd do it myself, because I despise tyranny, and what the world is now, absolutely sickens me. But what sickens me even more, is those who have the capability and opportunity to actually do something about it, larping rather than stepping up to the plate and actually *doing it...* Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍

If you have a 1-10 then you have plenty of magnification for 4-500 yards
Your situation will definitely dictate your load outs. Not everyone will find a rifle like this best suited for their situation.

Well that is the rage these days (a modernized mk12 or "spr").
These videos get better and better.
More to come!
Mutiple studies based on combat have repatibility shown that 5.56 with a 16" barrel is a 300m max combat cartridge.
Fun fact, 45gr ammo coming out of a 22 inch barrel will easily defeat 3A+

@@TATargets fair enough I've never heard of .243 hammer but I suppose it'll fill the role better than a 5.56

Mid range rifles gives a person all the range and power that they ever truly need.
Bien dicho. 👏 👏 👏
I think a 16 inch barrel .308 ar10 would be much better than 5.56 ar15 for engagements more than 300 yards. Plus you can hunt with an AR10.
