I would dare to disagree on this being the main thing to take away. The most important question and answer (in my humble opinion) was: '(...)What are you currently working on? A: In 2017, the engineering team began work on our scalable back-end and got it to a point where it was functional, but neither optimized nor easy to develop for. Adding new gameplay required engineers and technical designers to be aware of the networking layer, and the underlying implementation of our Entity Component System (ECS). This was the impetus for doing much of our gameplay development in an offline, disconnected client, with the plan to integrate it into the back-end server later. So, one of my first tasks is to revisit the scalable back-end, refactor it so that it's easier to work with, and incorporate many of the lessons we learned in 2018 and 2019 with respect to our Entity Component System(...)' This was easily the most telling (and probably honest) response and information on the state of the project that we have received since its creation, at least if you know some of the projects history and a bit about programming. @KiraTV I am not sure how much you wanted to go into detail, what you know about the beginning of the project (mainly SpatialOS) and about game development. Going into detail (which would be kind of necessary to understand some of what's going on) would be a rather massive wall of text. So, before I'm going to write anything, are you even interested in that, even though it might not be good content since it would likely be too 'dry' and difficult to understand for most the audience?

After checking out your channel, i have to say that your game looks good and much more interesting than COE ever could have. Your game is the kind people should look to support, ambitious enough to be interesting but working within reason.
@@Aetius_of_Astora That is incredibly flattering! Thank you so much :) It's been a dream of mine to make this game since I was 8 so I'm very excited about how far we've come in these few months working with what we have, and am even more excited for the future of the project!
The character customization in particular is very impressive for an indie project and caught my attention. The graphics are also pleasant, they look good enough for present but aren't overstated. One of the big red flags with COE for me was how this supposed MMO made by an indie team had graphics that competed with well funded studios that have 500+ people. Even if the game was real that usually means they put far too much emphasis on appearances and left gameplay out. I wish you the best of luck with development.

A long road but the players will be able to see all of it and even test a lot of it as it goes on. No secrets, no bullshit XD
So is it all some elaborate lawyer plan to get him out of this without being held responsible... xd Wonder what next year will bring, imagining an actual release for this, i am sure it would just be pure dogshit.
Why does it seem like almost every new and aspiring game developer tries to make the grandest game of all time? More often than not an MMO type of game, as well. What happened with start small, and complete games that you're able to make and sell.
If he filed for bankruptcy , maybe. But he hasn't ever said that, he claims to actually have money in the company now, probably from the ppe loan people found. Even if there is a reason for him having one , there isn't anything that prevents him from sharing the report. That's the main point.
In a federal bankruptcy the audit process is a requirement to ascertain assists and or liabilities. If the filing is a personal bankruptcy that audit is required to remain sealed until discharged. In cooperate or company based bankruptcies there are processes that allow release of audit information in publicly transacted situational cases i.e. (PO and financial oriented business of a transactional nature). The prior post was to be informational and not meant to be a post of accusation. If there is any pending investigation known or unknown to your viewers in any civil and/or criminal manner those too would be require to remain undisclosed. I have been a backer for the past 3 years of CoA and am very skeptical of anything out of Jeromy Walsh. I have recently looked into the federal PPE as one requirements to receiving the initial loans/grants was maintaining staff levels. Which depending on dates could actually be considered defrauding the U S Government. If not violating the governing statutes it too is very shady. Bottom Line Never Trust Jeromy Walsh with any of your hard earned money.
it's a nothing burger. It will not go anywhere, because of these "development updates" even if they file bancruptsy, They didn't... The money probably came from PPP
Even his replays are copy-paste-shit from school book examples of course literature when you study Business. He is just replacing the blanks with his own company name and key words and vague answers. An AI could have done an equally of a good job. Edit: typo
Sadly if you go too hard in an interview the interviewee will just leave. I think starting with the hard questions at least shows to viewers that there is a controversy and that people shouldn't instantly trust them. I think they did the best they could. :P
The way these folks keep dodging the real questions and issues and honestly believe they can get away with it is making my skin crawl. It's really rather disgusting, and I don't want to see them fully wriggle their way out of this. Not even if they deliver CoE in the way they advertized it 8 years ago, which I absolutely doubt they will. Soon they will be asking for more money, I bet you.
Jesus Christ if a Taiwanese mmo developer had 8 million dollars to work with they could probably release 15 mmos in 4 years. I can't wait for the 60 minutes episode covering this lawsuit. It needs to happen.
Does anyone expect MMORPG.com to be more than propaganda? I stopped going to MMORPG.com a few years ago. For years they kept writing fluff pieces on games and P2W games because that is what these studios are paying for.
Why the fok did he do this? Try to scam people out of their money? This interview is painful. Very good focus on whats important by kiratv. I feel flippin sorry for those who invested a lot and hope the lawsuit turns out good. I dont really think he is working much on anything besides covering up his shit with empty words.
Wow this is aboslutely wild. Seeing the way he dodged these questions knowing that he always intended to just piss away the time and money on absolutely nothing is utterly infuriating. What an absolute trash human being.
@@matthewhewines258 yeah, I know. Hopefully the investors will get at least some of their money back from the asshole😁 What truly makes it worse is the fact that the guy discourages investment in games because people aren't as confident in their investment and that they'll make their money back, so not as many games will be developed from smaller companies that need investors.
People saying this is an elaborate lawyer plan to get him out of it are silly. He does not need a plan. People gave him money to make a game, he failed at doing so. Failing is not a crime in this case. The dude seems incompetent but he always did. I don't see how you prove he never planned to release a game just based on what he did show. Was money wasted? Of course but honestly money is very easy to waste in game development and $8 million is not a lot for building an mmo.
TL;DR no information or statement from "Caspian" of actual value, just stalling and acting as if something was happening, like an automated support-reply. Many played Among Us, which reduces the chances of being further fooled by suspicious actions such as Jeromy Walsh has done. He sus and the audit is invalid with him having lied and not mentioning who did the audit. A legit company wouldn't mind their names being mentioned for audits. Edit: If he was the President or leader of any nation, there'd be civil unrest if not open rebellion after that, or at least similar situations to Hong Kong, Ukraine etc. The last part was so... uncomfortably despicable "to rebuild our trust in the community", as if the community was the one lying and truth-twisting, throwing mud at the meaning of transparency. Any game that allows modding and true interaction with the community genuinely flourished, while those that scam the people get what they deserve (hopefully).
An interview is being done by asking questions and receiving answers. It is not the MMO website's task to comment on every answer. JW's answers are completely self-revealing, and everyone who is not completely stupid has realized by now that JW is a scammer and is trying to convince people that he is still developing the game for as long as possible. This was quite a good interview with critical questions, no clue what you are complaining about.
If after I've explained what I'm complaining about you're still confused , that seems to be a problem with you and not me. We can agree to disagree on what kind of journalistic responsibility you have when giving a platform to someone who has been responsible for taking millions of dollars and lying over and over.
How the fuck this guy is able to just speak words without any backing.. Even one JPEG of a roadmap would spark MAYBE something but no, this dude thinks that his words are enough.
I disagree, mmorpg dotcom stuffed this so badly, each question is long-winded and has multiple components. It honestly seems like whoever is asking the questions is too excited to ask too much or hasn't prepared properly. At worst it should be simple - 'statement of fact' then 'open question about said statement of fact' As an interviewer if you add more than that you are just giving the interviewee too much room to wriggle out of the question. After the response, follow up with direct questions on subject...
Hey! Kira! Review Kingdom Under Fire 2? It's been a year and pretty much no content was released for it , it was just a huge money grap once again. Make voice for it so people won't fall for it
It really doesnt tho. I mean there have been several actual streams Showing people playing Pantheon. CoE was basically bough assets and faked screencaps fron the beginning.
It's good for the clicks i suppose, but why would you interview a guy like that? WHy is it that bad people always get opertunities, but honest people are getting fucked over? The interviewer should have pushed for "If you have money, why can't you do the refunds then?", "How do you suddenly have the money when you first said you didn't had any anymore?" "What is the real reason, you don't misplaced words when you said "Game is canceled for x reason", that doesn't happen like that, so what is the real reason, you want to be transparant right? This is your opertunity to be completely honest". Journalists need to do their job, their job is not to promote, their job is to write about the truth. If you do a interview with a guy known to lie and scam, you will go in with stretched legs and interrogate the fuck out of him. You do not provide him a platform to spread more lies. He wants to talk to promote his game, then he has to deal with his past and should at all times be questioned about it and asked questions upon questions. That is what a good journalists does, he/she investigates, fact checks, and questions and keep pushing the questions till a anwser comes that isn't a lawyer formed one. If the guy refused to answer your question, you simply don't put the article up. It shouldn't be free advertisement for him.
Honestly, I think they probably did this over an email with all the initial questions and Caspian only replied once. There might have been follow up questions, who knows. But, yes, I agree. If what I think is right, then MMORPG should have disclosed that. Since they didn't, this looks like an advertisement or a marketing move for me.
Honestly, the balls it takes to come back is enormous, I'm willing to forgive him. I wont forget, but I cant be mad at someone this NAIVE. He really seems to want to finish it, and is totally unaware of how absolutely FUCKED the whole thing is.

I'm hoping for the best too and hopefully can find funding one day to really ramp things up but we're focused mostly on getting the ground work done so there's something early that's playable then flesh it all out. A long road but the players will be able to see all of it and even test a lot of it as it goes on. No secrets, no bullshit XD
It's that kind of passion and integrity that many of us look for behind the games we buy.
The gift that keeps on giving
a saying :fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me.. I dont let it get to twice
Im suprised the guy hasn't cashed out and gone to some island
well you're not timing THAT torghast run
So is it all some elaborate lawyer plan to get him out of this without being held responsible... xd Wonder what next year will bring, imagining an actual release for this, i am sure it would just be pure dogshit.
Zero chance this clown ever does a interview with Kira........he'll probably run for his life if he ever sees you lol
I *just* watched your first video you posted yesterday, today. So this was a nice drop LMAO
Somebody has clearly scared Caspian, because now he's using lawyers. Keep up the good work, whoever you are.
Why does it seem like almost every new and aspiring game developer tries to make the grandest game of all time? More often than not an MMO type of game, as well. What happened with start small, and complete games that you're able to make and sell.
Your dry snark reminds me of SkillUp. Both very entertaining and informative channels too.
Forensic Audit is a requirement in the bankruptcy process, this may be what he is referring to.
Bottom Line Never Trust Jeromy Walsh with any of your hard earned money.
the only thing I could think off that they are trying so hard is that they must have used up all of their money they scammed and needed more LOL
What is the state of the lawsuit? Was everything dropped?
(I didn't take part, but I am still interested)
it's a nothing burger. It will not go anywhere, because of these "development updates" even if they file bancruptsy, They didn't... The money probably came from PPP
The Leafling is pog AF
a saying: you can sugar coat shit and put sprinkles on it. But its still shit
the dude just dont want to die as a complete looser who failed his life and turning "fans" into haters. Good job!
Chronicles of E-LIE-RIA
Good video, but DO YOU HAVE AN OPEN INBOX, KIRA???!!?? ;D
Off topic but jesus the absolute state of MMORPG's...
BDO is literally the last MMO right now and I'd rather the fate not be in the hands of Koreans.
Then don't have the interview. If you're doing it just for clicks then you're doing the community a mischief by giving him that platform.
Kira mate i fucking love how transparent you are against this guy :) and rightfully so this guys is just a scammer.
They have made it clear that this company can no longer be trusted.
Wow this is aboslutely wild. Seeing the way he dodged these questions knowing that he always intended to just piss away the time and money on absolutely nothing is utterly infuriating. What an absolute trash human being.
Unfuckingbelievable.
The Chronic Lies of Elyria
Man this is the neverending scamming story... :D
Riot Ghostcrawler on Twitter just announced that they are working on a league of legends MMO pls report on it
We don't really know much other than him saying they're working on an mmo. Probably not video worthy but if I find anything interesting I will do
I bought the lie once, not gonna do it again
Chronicles of elyria would work better as a single player rpg.
It doesn't exist so it wouldn't work better as anything bro :D
those nasty bdo ads are literally everywhere ... if you browse mmorpg stuff
@kiratv is there any news about the riot games mmo?
Other than the fact it is being made , nope
Damn
You really hate that guy that's driving the company into the ground. The guy is clearly a piece of crap.🤣🤣🤣
Don't blame him
@@matthewhewines258 yeah, I know. Hopefully the investors will get at least some of their money back from the asshole😁 What truly makes it worse is the fact that the guy discourages investment in games because people aren't as confident in their investment and that they'll make their money back, so not as many games will be developed from smaller companies that need investors.
@@Nightowl5454 yeah is disappointing because some people who put effort it can make great games
20th comment! lol. This is crazy. It was a silly interview tbh.
mmorpg seems like a joke of a site. I haven't been able to really load it.
They fear prison
I want this fool to be fined and jailed for this crap
😎👍
TL;DR no information or statement from "Caspian" of actual value, just stalling and acting as if something was happening, like an automated support-reply.
Many played Among Us, which reduces the chances of being further fooled by suspicious actions such as Jeromy Walsh has done.
He sus and the audit is invalid with him having lied and not mentioning who did the audit. A legit company wouldn't mind their names being mentioned for audits.
Edit:
If he was the President or leader of any nation, there'd be civil unrest if not open rebellion after that, or at least similar situations to Hong Kong, Ukraine etc.
Shut up Caspian. Shit beard tho
Don't waste your time with this game ...
What game? theres no game.
How the fuck this guy is able to just speak words without any backing.. Even one JPEG of a roadmap would spark MAYBE something but no, this dude thinks that his words are enough.
HONHONHONHON
Le fromage.
Still a scam. Support real games like Ashes of Creation instead.
Hypeeeeeee lol
I disagree, mmorpg dotcom stuffed this so badly, each question is long-winded and has multiple components. It honestly seems like whoever is asking the questions is too excited to ask too much or hasn't prepared properly.
At worst it should be simple - 'statement of fact' then 'open question about said statement of fact'
As an interviewer if you add more than that you are just giving the interviewee too much room to wriggle out of the question. After the response, follow up with direct questions on subject...
It obviously wasn't a conversation or a back and forth to get a follow up. They likely sent him a list of questions and he returned it.
@@KiraTV1 yeah I think you're right but I still think it could have been done far better...
100% could have been
Hey! Kira! Review Kingdom Under Fire 2? It's been a year and pretty much no content was released for it , it was just a huge money grap once again. Make voice for it so people won't fall for it
I already did that when it came out mate
Obligatory, "looks further along than Pantheon " comment.
Since they didn't, this looks like an advertisement or a marketing move for me.
if you ar saying you ar okej with de platforming then we ar not on the same page
Honestly, the balls it takes to come back is enormous, I'm willing to forgive him. I wont forget, but I cant be mad at someone this NAIVE. He really seems to want to finish it, and is totally unaware of how absolutely FUCKED the whole thing is.
does ur forgiveness include willing to invest into coe again ? ;)
@@yesterdaywassunday I couldnt find an answer sarcastic enough for this. Hell no.
I disagree with you when it comes to deplatforming him, but jeromy's still filth.
Soy journalism, as always in these "gaming" sites.
