Reg For me, I always found Luke Spencer to be overrated same how I feel about Sonny. The Quartermaine family were the only reason I watched GH as long as I did.

@@heddalee If what you are saying was true then Edward would have happily accepted his son Bradley Ward instead of hiding his secret. Edward used Mary-Mae and when she needed him the most to protect Bradley Edward turned his back on Mary-Mae allowing their son to be murdered by his racist friends.
@@justusphillips2480 I know nothing of the story I know nothing of this part of General Hospital history but reading all about it is incredibly sad and watching these videos is heartbreaking. I love General Hospital for portraying such a story in such a real way so we can actually see it from all angles. People have affairs for many reasons and the cheated on party sometimes will choose to forgive that person and stay in the marriage. That's love and forgiveness and understanding and a true friendship and relationship of a long time love. I wish each generation would not have lost that sentiment because that is why the divorce rate is so high in today's standards because people don't understand about forgiveness unless of course the affair was to be vicious or baseless or done in Revenge of some sort. That's not the kind of Affairs I'm talking about. Edward Quartermaine had true feelings for the southern woman. It was not a fling or a casual affair. That's why Lila invited that family into her home to get to know them because she knew her husband Edward would not have had an affair with this woman if there were not feelings involved. In other words this was not a casual thing. Lila is gracious enough to understand all of that and still be able to forgive her husband and invite this other family into their home and into their lives especially since a child was created. Man, General Hospital really knew how to tell heart compelling tug on your heartstrings type of stories with such truism and of course the acting is so superb you can't tell that they are actually acting is a huge sentiment on how connected people get with the story lines and these people that they watch on their TV everyday and that's because EVERYBODY was damn good at their jobs. Kudos for uploading these videos so people like me can see and hear about these stories for the first time ever and actually understand a lot of background history that I barely scrape the surface on trying to figure out on my own the history of the show. Thank goodness for the internet and for UA-cam and for the people that upload these videos. Thank you also to the people that comment because that is also helpful to see other people's perspectives on the same story that you were watching no matter how many years apart it may be from when you watch it from when they have watched it. I had no idea that Justice Ward was a Quartermaine by Blood. Now I understand the family connections a bit better with later stories that I'm familiar with. I just know he was a decent man and I never I still don't to this day understand his connection with Faith and why he gave up everything and stood by her. I will never know. In the end though I do believe that Justice turned Faith in and that's why he wasn't killed by the Corinthos family. I can tell you though a lot of things make more sense now that I'm seeing a lot more back history. I miss so many people from the Quartermain family nowadays because there isn't many left.......
@albertbaley i wish as well, but they are running out of quartermaines.. the only ones you see at all is edward and everyone once in a while you see monica.. i would count michael and jason but you might as well say they are corthinos (michael is adopted by sonny and i swear that boy acts like sonny more than ever , everytime he gets older.. and jason, is a mini ,muscular, blonde version of sonny )
Pay no mind to what the script makes the actors who play their parts say...we've got Eddie and Lila's whole entire history posted up plus all their family and the hardships and yet great times they all went through to prove that E always loved L and vice versa. end of story. I only stick to what I've seen...He did not love Mary...two ppl being drawn together coz of war is nothing.
It's not nothing, it was a friendship and fascination that lead to an indiscretion and the creation of a human being, i dont think it altered his love for Lila but i think Edward respected Mary Mae as a woman and later as a mother and let's face it for him that was a pretty big deal, the only other women he showed respect to where those he felt were his equals it's a short list to be added to Lila, Monica and Tracey.

I miss Lila and Edward so much. The love between them is the definition of true love and you can get through everything together.

Right now Edward saying that he was so in love with Mary Mae..was he? I don't remember him being in love with her, especially by his/her story.
He talked about her a number of times as a woman he loved deeply.
They had a friendship and deep respect for one another I believe Mary-Mae loved Edward but Edward loved his wife.

I think it was possible for Edward to love Mary Mae but be in love with Lila at the same time.
