@breannacarels6479 which 2 do you own? Is chameleon sweet/feminine enough to be wearable? I struggled with a lot of their scents. Love them as an experience but not bottle worthy. I have mouse, cow, rabbit. And want to know if chameleon, hummingbird, dragonfly, cockatiel, or nightingale are a fit.
@@lajeit chameleon is sweet and feminine to my nose. I’ve also tried nightingale and hummingbird and they were also both very feminine. Nightingale turned into an instant powder bomb on me, but if it had stayed tart and bright the other wear I would have considered it too. Hummingbird is nice but didn’t wow me. Chameleon is a very bright and natural ylang ylang, which is one of my favourite notes. My son smelled it yesterday and said “wow, so sweet” when he smelled it. I don’t overly love very sweet fragrances… but this one speaks to me. My other Zoologist is TRex. I didn’t expect to fall in love with it, but I did. I’m a sucker for a good incense note. It’s obviously very different than Chameleon. The next on my wish list would be Elephant… but I think a 10ml would be all I need. Haven’t smelled them all but slowly working on it.
@breannacarels6479 elephant is amazing. It's evocative. I don't think I would do a full bottle because to me it's more of an experience than wearable but I'd love to continue to go through samples when I can. Have you tried dragonfly? I know I want snowy owl and seahorse.
"Ylang ylang is the main bitch" LOL Thank you again for the review! Daniel and I really wanted a ylang ylang fragrance and intentionally toned down the fruit accord. In the earlier prototypes, the fruits were so strong it's very "De Monte-style" syrupy. Ylang is all natural in this fragrance, however it doesn't last quite as long as the more powerful synthetic aromachemials.
Out of all the Zoologist scents, I picked 12 I love. That’s it. So I bought a few bottles and the rest in those travel sized bottles . I love this house, the perfumes are so unique and inventive. And the perfumes are truly extrait. Not bullshit extrait like DUA and other dupe houses that claim to be extrait. I really appreciate all of the work that’s gone into making these beauties. And yes I also love ylang ylang and I also lhave been searching for a most realistic ylang ylang. And also frangipanni. And I got both in this one, yeyyy I really love this one.. Full bottle worthy for sure...on me this lasts for hours. Which is great coz most perfumes don’t last long on me but Zoologists perfumes do last very long on me.
The missed note in this fragrance that really struck me as unique is the Skin. There was a long period of time after I applied this where I kept smelling the unmistakable scent of warm brown skin in the sun. That smell of laying out to get a tan (back when people did that). Of course you did a fantastic job as usual describing all the other notes. I really like this lush jungle of smooth yellow flowers and coconut while laying out on the beach of some tropical island.
Heyyyy, I just got a FB of hummingbird and they sent me three samples and one is chameleon. I love the stories about each fragrance, their all so magical! I'm digging chameleon, I'll give it a cpl of wears to see if it moves me. I like cow but it doesn't excite me.
Awesome review thank you!!! Your bottle literally disappeared in your hand. I guess cause it’s reflective and played tricks with your camera. Anyway, I adore your reviews and can’t wait to enjoy my bottle this spring/summer
Im a big fan of ZOOLOGIST for sure I love their uniqueness I own CHAMELEON as well as BAT & their new SQUID all are spectacular thanks for a great review JIM from MIAMI BEACH
I was thinking as you described the wearability that it fits the description of a Chameleon. There noticeably and then blends in quickly but is always there. Clever.
You are the best! I love to watch your vlogs , because of you, I wearing Samsara again. Thank you. I’ll keep watching. Oh yeah I can’t wait to try Zoologist 😃
If you love ylang it means you may know already Embruns D'Ylang from Guerlain and Ylang in Gold from Micalef.both amazing 😍 and i love chameleon i find it quite unique, the only probleme is that i would want it to be "louder" ,stronger. i have just a sample but i will buy a bottle soon! Great review
Am going to have to give this one a whirl. Sounds really nice. I forsee buying me a bunch of Zooligist decants in my near future so I can pick out which ones I like the most, starting with this one. Thanks.
It is worth it! I got almost all the samples (not at once), and when I'm on my own I'll sometimes use them just to enjoy a mood! Even if difficult to wear, they're all so nice.
My first Zoologist was Hummingbird. Since then I've picked up Moth, Nightingale, and Camel. They are all quite different from one another but I love them all.
Not to housewreck your relationship with Chameleon, but if ylang ylang is the dragon of your chase, maybe check out Indices Parfums. They only have three perfumes (I think) and the founders are a couple who have a wonderful perfume shop in Brussels (Parfum d'Ambre). They developed the fragrances with a perfume training school in Paris, making a competition wherein the students were asked to design perfumes based on ylang ylang. (The flower was the key note to build around because they have a relationship to producers in the Comoros.) The three creations that were selected are the ones that make up the line. The website is here www.indices-parfums.com. Hubert and Olga are lovely, lovely people to boot!
I’m not much of a fan of this one:. I don’t get ylang at all. And no Frangipanni at all. I love Frangipanni and own many perfumes with frangipanni so I would smell it right away. I wish it had Frangipanni in those one. And yeah on paper the notes sound great, but it’s not what I hoped it would be. Any who , what bothers me most about this house is that they never give customers amy discount codes. I’ve gone back 3 times and spent a lot of money at Zoologist and never received a “thank you, here’s 10% off your next one” . Nope nothing. Oh yeah I did get a 2ml sample.
It smells SO much of Ylang. Get yourself some Ylang essential oil (the real stuff) and it's exactly the same, it's the closest real ylang perfume I have ever smelled. So many perfumes that have ylang in them do not smell like ylang.
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews for penhaligons it’s insane, I can see why they discontinued it. Kinda old skool women’s floral structure but with notes of green, ylang ylang, milk and clove. I never bought it but loved the sample and it’s really nice to wear! Ends up smelling banana-y from the ylang green leaf and milk accord, supercool. 👍🏻
I guess it depends where you work? But I would say it's appropriate for many occasions. :) It's a dreamy Ylang with a tropical feeling and not super heavy.
Matching shirts! Love it. Just got a sample. Can't wait to try.
How was it?
@@lajeit I officially have a bottle. One of 2 Zoologists in my collection.

Still, it is GORGEOUS! And the ylang I've been waiting for!

I'm wearing it now, and totally agree, summery, fruity Ylang Ylang, an instant favourite

Hi Thomas! Yes, I think we've met before when I was working for Frédéric Malle. Great review, according to your taste and knowledge! Congrats!
We have! hehe. Thanks for Chameleon. :)
It IS a beautiful tropical scent!
Zoologist is such an amazing house. It’s story telling with fragrance and truly art in my view. Brilliant review as usual!
Thanks Pats. Zoologist are still my fave Niche house. :) Can't wait for the next.

Really good to meet you last week, I'm sure we will be back to try this one, best wishes Simon and Kate

I had to order and now the wait.......thanks for the review. This will be my first Zoologist fragrance and I'm so excited to try it!!!
Did u end up loving it?

Yes! I have tried both of those. Chameleon is still the most realistic Ylang I have found. The hunt continues though!
Chameleon. That is the perfect perfume for the majority of humans.
Truth!
I actually get a lot of mango and star fruit with this - it’s really pleasant! And you’re right, definitely super long lasting and demure.
That was a cool effect, the green on the reflective label turned in to the green screen for moments lol
Spritzonable is my new favourite word! Loved the review.
First off, I feel as though I’ve been in withdrawal from your videos. I miss you when you’re gone😂❤️
Secondly, fantastic review!!
This definitely sounds like one I would love. I think this may be a blind buy. great review as always tom

Any suggestions for a female making their first Zoologist purchase?
My first Zoologist was Hummingbird. Since then I've picked up Moth, Nightingale, and Camel. They are all quite different from one another but I love them all.
Am wanting to try Hummingbird since I love them so much.
Chameleon, nightingale would be my recommendations.
Do not buy hyrax
I would immediately say, Nightingale, Humminbird, Civet, Dragonfly and beaver. :)
Welp looks like a sample has to be ordered 😍 i hate that i love your videos so much 😂
YAY, lemme know what you think.
Haven't had the chance yet.
will though
Brilliant review thank you!! I love the sound of this one❤
I like Spritzonable!:)
Excellent description!! OK...fine...I'll buy it!
Love your reviews so much!
Thanks babe. BACK AT YOU!
