Would Nigeria benefit from being split into smaller states? Because Nigeria was made by the British with no respect to the different peoples who lived in it wouldn’t the country always be plagued by regionalism? I ask as a Canadian and we have a fair amount of regionalism here and it makes it tough because rather than debating issues the political parties are just a front for regions. But even we do not have the tons of different languages that Nigeria has so I would imagine it would be much bigger. Maybe if Nigeria is so difficult to govern is because it was never designed to benefit the people but instead it was designed to benefit the British colonials. In countries where the BIVAS has been deployed, the norm is that results from polling centers should be trickling into the Servers. Here it would be available to the media. Then after some days as the officer is saying, the returning officers would then have made thier way to the National tallying center that's when the results are verified,validated and tallied into official poll numbers. Why is it that things are done upside down in Nigeria? If results are not accessed seamlessly on the servers then one of aims for deploying BIVAS has been defeated. The Opaque nature of the INEC servers breeds speculation and confusion. Anyway Nigerians are adviced to be calm and monitor closely until they begin official announcement.

What is all this ? The results should be uploaded into the INEC server right from the Polling Units immediately after counting in the presence and views of the voters. There should be no rooms for manipulations. All these collations and transportations leave rooms for manipulations. Besides, INEC should fully key into modern technology, devise ways and means of monitoring elections and providing security for the voters.
