After knocking down a stud on public land, Mark decides to hunt a small parcel of pressured private land in middle Tennessee, near Nashville. He finds a an active scrape in the rut and rattles in a small buck and a doe and then knocks down the neighborhoods target buck with his muzzleloader. TN was good to Mark!

I know grunting,bleat cans and rattle bags play like a symphony here in central North Carolina and deer in general are up to game in that bs and they go opposite way… But I do wonder how a decoy and to actually rattle and grunt on the ground and try sound realistic and I wonder if it would work …

You can definitely make rattling have that real feel when you are on the ground. I’ve only had them come to a rattle one time from a tree stand but several times on the ground. Not enough instances to make a real conclusion but I feel like it works better on the ground. -Mark

Probly 15-20 mins. I actually heard bucks fighting on the next ridge over right before I rattled, so I let them know where I was and he came in looking for the fight. I like how he came over the ridge and saw my decoy and he like ran up the ridge to get a better look and grunted. U can hear it faintly if u listen carefully. -Mark
