  • Day 37 thru hiking the Oregon Desert Trail. Another epic day of hiking in the Owyhees. A brief but stunning canyon with water to wade through leads to the main fork of the Owyhee River near Five Bar. I ford the Owyhee River and hike up Drummond Breaks to Brown Ridge. I crest the top and enjoy the incredible view over Three Forks and Three Forks Dome. This is where the Middle Fork and North Fork meet the main fork of the Owyhee River. A legendary landscape! At Three Forks, I meet up with my buddy Mike again who is camped with his two dogs. After a short afternoon stay, I hike out of Three Forks and up to the rim above Owyhee Canyon. This too is ridiculously beautiful. Storms chase me all afternoon and into the evening as I hike along the rim. I set up camp above Owyhee Canyon just in time before the rain comes, and brings a beautiful sunset.

Those grass waves in the wind remind me of prairie back home. Has its own beauty! I hope you didn't have to deal with ticks!

Pretty cool trail. I've only been on the west side of the state so it looked nothing like this. Neat to see more of it, I'll probably never see in person. I just saw your stats in the description, that's a LOT of edit work, yikes. I hope your channel grows for ya.

That cave at 3:33 is interesting. It's almost a perfect arch and the slope leading up to it looks like a ramp.

You didn't go to the hot springs by 3 fks. The most scenic hotspring on the planet. I left a water cache but there were cow troughs up ahead.

The original ODT stayed in the canyon.
