- In this film I finally get my hands on a new welder. A big thank you to everyone who has subscribed, become a channel member or a patron. I could not have bought it without you all.
Here's to fine tuning it and getting stuck in to TeeCee's remaining panels and repairing the seat on Project Buddy.
Thanks also to @vwcoco for recommending the welder.

Hi Simone congrats on the new welder, You cant beat new toys day. It looked like a good penetrating weld on that sheet steel, well done.
Cool! Hope you get years of use out of it, Simone!! Thanks for the video!
Excellent & great the new welder is compact so you can easily keep it secure & great you have the tools to sort Teecee. When The electrician wired my car shed, he suggested going to 30A feed if I wanted to weld, but I left it at 20A & not learnt to weld yet.
Saturday night watching the lovely Simone weld . Fantastic. ❤
The extra clamp attachment looks like a stick/arc weld one?
hi simone cool welder👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😄
Ip rating is its waterproofness
Well done Simone love.. (Phil)..
The extra piece is for stick welding which is really useful if you need to weld into difficult to get to areas and also for thicker metal. Practice plenty on stick and you will find you use it just as much as mig/flux core in the end. Please convince Sheldon/Aaron of Classic Britain to do the same !
Use a metal sheet as a table top so you can tig your work to it .
Will do. Thank you 😁
That model of welder will do MMA (arc/stick), gas MIG, Gassless MIG and TIG . Have you welded much before? If not then a course on thermal joining skills will teach you everything you need to know to become proficient in all types of welding. Or if you dont need any qualifications then theres plenty of good how to videos online. I recently bought that same model of welder, with the arc, mig and tig attatchments. I am a qualified welder and used to larger machines but i heard good things about this one and thought it will be a great tool to own.
@@scotthenry3401 Hi, I have welded the floors in my classic car but that was 4 years ago. I started using gas recently and this welder is good for it. I am taking a course soon to get a ticket in mig. I will try other types on the course I'm sure.
@@CortinasAndClassics well, welding thin sheet like car floors can be quite tricky so if you managed that then you will soon use that same skills to do the other types of welding. I've found that if you practice with arc/mma and gas/ oxygen - acetylene then the skills needed for those two types can be transfered to do the other kinds of welding, tig and gas are treated in much the same way, the tungsten tip being thought of as the inner blue part of the gas flame. If you can get good at arc welding then the rest will be easy, get good at tig and gas welding will be easy. Good luck with it buddy.
Nice review. Will take a awhile to key in settings regarding the steel etc. When using the flux and gasless I don't use any shielding nozzle. It's alot easier to use
Thank you for the advice, much appreciated 😊👍
Great video Simone,really enjoyed it
The stinger holds a welding rod for manual stick welding. Try low hydrogen welding rod like 7018. Suggest 3/32” and run it at just under 90 amp. 1/8” at 110 amp.
You can buy a lift tig cable separately
Interesting video, hope you have good quality safety clothing and equipment. Keep safe.
Bought a new HITBOX HBM1200 (£120 from Amazon) delivered last week and it lasted ten minutes doing some test welds before it tripped the MCB in the garage and the house consumer unit.
Oh my word 😮, So to hear that. I always have mine plugged into a trip box at the outlet.
Could be a faulty unit.
New toys! I'd be interested in learning to weld myself. Would be a useful skill to have. ❤
22:31 Very cool!
Todo bien pero porque la pantalla Parpadea?
El parpadeo se debe probablemente a que la cámara reacciona al arco de soldadura.
Nice Vid. Hope you didn't break those lovely nails 🙃😂 It was v. informative as Ive got the MT2000
as well. Cos it didn't come with proper instructions I had to use the arc/stick side of things, which it does pretty well too.
Thanks again for your Vid. Mike 🙋♂🤛👋 Oh by the way, I think the welder will take 1mm so it should be 0.8mm & 1mm I believe.
@@MikeCCO Thanks for watching Mike. I have started using argon gas and it works really well.
Shroud removal and fitting turn clockwise
IP rating is ingress protection
🤠
Can I weld thin steel? Like car arches, body overall?
1mm thick steel sure
Were you going to the Hubnut social on Saturday? If so it's actually the week after.
No sadly I can't.
I have stick and flux core welders cos they are cheap. Stick welding is my favourite, flux core is frustrating to use, filthy and the welds look 💩. Metal must be spotless or flux will look awful. Stick welder isn't as fussy. Was going to get a mig but you need 16amp wiring 😢. Yours may say it's able to mig but it would work better at 16 amp feed. Abit like cheap jump leads, they work but thicker wired ones are better 😊
Hello, when I turn on my hitbox the fan starts and after a few minutes it stops, is this normal?
@@bernardgiordanengo1090 The fan should be on all the time.
@@CortinasAndClassics Ok, thank you, so I have a big problem.
@@bernardgiordanengo1090 It could be a relay but might be worth emailing Hitbox they might help.
@@CortinasAndClassics Hello, I solved the problem, it was the fan outlet that was not connected. Now it works normally. Thank you sincerely.
@@bernardgiordanengo1090 Oh fantastic. well done indeed 👍🏻
Sounds like a hoover see if it cleans the carpet!
stick welding the other gun is not tig.
Your arms are always in the way, but what lovely arms
I'm sure you already know, but try to not have the mains cable coiled when you use it. Back EMF and heat and stuff. 👍
👍lovely job Simone
Thanks Jimmy 😁👍
My job is a welder, and lucky me I had the pleasure of setting my mates one of these up, got to be one of the worst welders Ive ever used ! But that is just my opinion.should of named them sh*t box
It's much better than the SIP I had. In all honesty.
Теперь я знаю что не нужно покупать этот сварочный аппарат.
I think I have just brought a welder that only good for car bodywork does anyone want to buy it, still in the box brand new and unused £259 in Nottingham 😡
Don’t be tempted to use any solvents to clean the metal ,this can cause a disaster effect with your life ….either
Your flickering in an indication of low voltage going into the unit. Change the outlet. Make sure that its not on the same with your fridge or air condition.
Hi, it is plugged into a high resistance extension cable with a trip box.
The extension has nothing to do with the voltage output. The cable just helps to prevent overheating and the maintenance of the level of electrical voltage.
The flickering is an indication of the frame rate of the camera. Nothing to do with voltage.
Id let a man look at this first before you use it ,simone
I don't follow you. I spent months welding a car.
Why???
I'd let your mum check your comments before you post them.
Ooo.... i just fell over and and woke up in 1958.
Aren't we awfully lucky to have big strong clever men to help us feeble silly brained little females build cars. What would we do without such learned beasts! ( swoon) 😂
Please Ignore him lovely. I get this nonsense too. It tends to be an indication of a small problem with himself. A very very small problem usually.
Cracking job. X
