  • In this film I finally get my hands on a new welder. A big thank you to everyone who has subscribed, become a channel member or a patron. I could not have bought it without you all.
    Here's to fine tuning it and getting stuck in to TeeCee's remaining panels and repairing the seat on Project Buddy.
    Thanks also to ‪@vwcoco‬ for recommending the welder.

    Excellent & great the new welder is compact so you can easily keep it secure & great you have the tools to sort Teecee. When The electrician wired my car shed, he suggested going to 30A feed if I wanted to weld, but I left it at 20A & not learnt to weld yet.

    The extra piece is for stick welding which is really useful if you need to weld into difficult to get to areas and also for thicker metal. Practice plenty on stick and you will find you use it just as much as mig/flux core in the end. Please convince Sheldon/Aaron of Classic Britain to do the same !

    Use a metal sheet as a table top so you can tig your work to it .

    That model of welder will do MMA (arc/stick), gas MIG, Gassless MIG and TIG . Have you welded much before? If not then a course on thermal joining skills will teach you everything you need to know to become proficient in all types of welding. Or if you dont need any qualifications then theres plenty of good how to videos online. I recently bought that same model of welder, with the arc, mig and tig attatchments. I am a qualified welder and used to larger machines but i heard good things about this one and thought it will be a great tool to own.

      @@scotthenry3401 Hi, I have welded the floors in my classic car but that was 4 years ago. I started using gas recently and this welder is good for it. I am taking a course soon to get a ticket in mig. I will try other types on the course I'm sure.

    • @scotthenry3401
      @scotthenry3401 Місяць тому +1

      @@CortinasAndClassics well, welding thin sheet like car floors can be quite tricky so if you managed that then you will soon use that same skills to do the other types of welding. I've found that if you practice with arc/mma and gas/ oxygen - acetylene then the skills needed for those two types can be transfered to do the other kinds of welding, tig and gas are treated in much the same way, the tungsten tip being thought of as the inner blue part of the gas flame. If you can get good at arc welding then the rest will be easy, get good at tig and gas welding will be easy. Good luck with it buddy.

    Nice review. Will take a awhile to key in settings regarding the steel etc. When using the flux and gasless I don't use any shielding nozzle. It's alot easier to use

    The stinger holds a welding rod for manual stick welding. Try low hydrogen welding rod like 7018. Suggest 3/32” and run it at just under 90 amp. 1/8” at 110 amp.

      El parpadeo se debe probablemente a que la cámara reacciona al arco de soldadura.

    Nice Vid. Hope you didn't break those lovely nails 🙃😂 It was v. informative as Ive got the MT2000
    as well. Cos it didn't come with proper instructions I had to use the arc/stick side of things, which it does pretty well too.
    Thanks again for your Vid. Mike 🙋‍♂🤛👋 Oh by the way, I think the welder will take 1mm so it should be 0.8mm & 1mm I believe.

    I have stick and flux core welders cos they are cheap. Stick welding is my favourite, flux core is frustrating to use, filthy and the welds look 💩. Metal must be spotless or flux will look awful. Stick welder isn't as fussy. Was going to get a mig but you need 16amp wiring 😢. Yours may say it's able to mig but it would work better at 16 amp feed. Abit like cheap jump leads, they work but thicker wired ones are better 😊

    Your flickering in an indication of low voltage going into the unit. Change the outlet. Make sure that its not on the same with your fridge or air condition.

    • @CortinasAndClassics
      @CortinasAndClassics  11 місяців тому

      Hi, it is plugged into a high resistance extension cable with a trip box.

    • @eudo1898
      @eudo1898 11 місяців тому +1

      The extension has nothing to do with the voltage output. The cable just helps to prevent overheating and the maintenance of the level of electrical voltage.

    • @Wetstriker
      @Wetstriker Місяць тому

      The flickering is an indication of the frame rate of the camera. Nothing to do with voltage.
