  • This week i tried scratch building a Maschinen Krieger model.
    Yes, things went wrong on the painting stage and I tried to make the best out of what I'd done wrong.

    The guy who invented maschinen kreiger, kit bashed them so you are not only folllowing in his footsteps, but paying homage to those models. I salute you sir!

      Thank you so much. I feel I let him down with this one but future builds, learn from my mistakes.

      @@TerrainbyAaron you shouldn’t feel that way, as it’s still a cool attempt to see his style for yourself. To reiterate what he said in slightly more detail many of the complex torso shapes and parts in general were made from donor model kits. An example is the PKA, which is made from the fuselage of a OH-6 helicopter, a lot of the design lineage comes from armored vehicles and aircraft. Just like star wars in a way, which kow drew inspiration from.

      @SlowpokeSpartan thank you. Yeah I tried the bottle technique. It has alot of flaws but I'll improve with the mark 2.

      @@TerrainbyAaron a couple things I would recommend is to look close at the shapes and proportions of an safs and for the rough armor texture you should have mixed putty with model cement and softly apply it on with an old brush.

      @SlowpokeSpartan so that's the secret mixture. I've written it down. Thanks

    Brilliant build!

    I think the texture you added would've looked great if you'd made it a diorama of an abandoned mech that had broken down out in the countryside and was overgrown with moss and weeds. The green color you added was like halfway there.

      Yeah, trying something new that didn't work. But I know for next time. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it

    Outstanding Ma. K inspired mech suit Aaron!! I really love 💙 those models, but as you found out here they are stupidly expensive.
    My favorite one is the "Luna Driver" fighter craft, which I figured I could replicate by using two WW2 plane fuselages...maybe. 🤔
    I hope that you attempt a few more of these again, this one was awesome and I'd love to see you make more. Best of luck to you sir, may you keep on scratching!!

      Thank you much. Yeah, it's a shame that they are expensive as I'd have a new hobby building them all but I can't justify the price.
      I think I know which one your talking about and that was one of the options I thought of making.
      If I can find the parts that very well maybe the next attempt.

    Pretty cool.
    Can you make a swappable bubble on top with a little pilot in a clear dome.
    If you do a mkII version, could you alter the wings to body ratio so it might fly in for ground support then redeploy.

    • @TerrainbyAaron
      @TerrainbyAaron  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes more than likely I can do all those things. It's a mark 1, so no doubt I will start making modifications to the next model

    So found something that might help you as well as me. Watching another crafter on youtube and he was using his 3d pen to fill in voids and make bonding a bit better between the junk pieces he put together for his mech. Otherwise this wasn't a bad build. Just a learning experience for paint.

    • @TerrainbyAaron
      @TerrainbyAaron  4 місяці тому +1

      I've looked into those 3D pens. For me to buy the filament is quite expensive but good call. Were on the same wave length 👍

    Try adding the putty to the model then stippling with a brush dipped in thinner.

      @@TerrainbyAaronMight I suggest that you try and find some 1/72 scale Soviet tanks on sale. From when I looked into it, I thought I could most use those turrets to replicate some of the Ma K. style mech suits.
