Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate the product Garry. Please ignore detrimental comments from people who probably have no perception of what it’s like to have limited use of their hands. I myself struggle badly with dexterity due to a debilitating nerve condition (HSN1) so anything that will enable me to carry on fishing for a little bit longer is a godsend in my book. My condition effects sensation in the extremities and my balance so I really do struggle to do things I took for granted less than 10 years ago. I’ve always fished for big fish of all species except carp ( I used to back in the late 70s early 80’s but the modern scene just isn’t for me - i’ll leave it at that!). I get by at the moment by tying all my hook lengths at home with a hook tyer ( can’t remember the name but I believe Nathan’s used to stock them). This model has a shaft to ensure the length of each link is exactly the same, has a handle that turns a fly vice like contraption and a line cutter to trim the knots. It’s absolutely brilliant but I now struggle to even use that so tend to bribe my son to tie up batches for me. Trouble is once tied I still need to mount the bait and in cold weather with locked fingers this is no easy matter especially using size 18-20s. A little tip I find helps it to put some foam in the jaws of forceps. I use a pair to hold the hook and another to hold the bait - far from easy and really slow but it does work. Alternatively use plastic grubs - ideal for tench, barbel, chub n bream but a bit of a waste of time for big roach. Anyway enough waffle but food for thought. If the contraction you’re reviewing handles smaller hooks and ties a proper smell knot then I’ll certainly try one. All the best.
I only hope these people don't lose dexterity in their hands, as we both have. I find myself dropping things, simply because I have no feeling in my index finger, so I'm never certain how much pressure I'm applying.
The machines meant for eyeless hooks I have one and have the hooks that have a flattened down end where the eye is supposed to be. The hooks are really sharp and work well with large fish i have had great success.
Thank you for the tutorial, super helpful ❤️ We were struggling to work out the picture instructions we received with ours. (Different brand, same setup)
i got into a small motorcycle accident falling in a parking lot, it severed the tendons going to my feet fingers and i cant move them anymore. i understand how some people might had a similar accident with their hands. having a little gadget to help is very good, i myself in the cold have problem tying knots unto small hooks.
I had a freak accident pull starting a petrol generator. The handle snapped, and cut my index finger through to the bone, severing the nerves on one side. P.S. Out of all the fish hook tying devices I've tested so far, this one is my favourite.
@@GarryPurcell I bought that 1 years ago, and I could not figure our how to use it . Asking around and no one knows, until I saw your youtube. Thanks again
Cool gadget but I believe you'll get a stonger snell knot if it is done by hand an if you have a mini vice or the vice for fly tiring you'll be able to achieve a perfect snelled hook an you'll be ready to go after those big fish
I personally like this electric knot tying tool, out of all the mechanical ones Iv'e tested so far. I have a few more videos to make and publish showing these other knot tools. (One is expensive, and a real dissapointment.)
Seem like it's just as difficult to work with all the little parts with arthritis as tying a Knot.....palomer is a better knot, faster and doesn't seem to be as hard on my hands as other more intricate knots
HI GARRY Great video can you let me know when the comparison videos are out as i am a KAYAK fisherman the little SANXIN would save me heaps of time CHEERS HAPPY NEW YEAR
The main usage is for people with problems tying hooks. I had an accident where my index finger pulling a petrol generator start cord, the plastic handle broke, and cut my hand through to the bone and severed nerves.
I tried mine out and it works pretty well. But as warned, it eats the occasional hook. Now I need instructions on how to retrieve the hook from down in the belly of the beast. It was a #4 straight shank baitholder. I had it turning and on turn 3 it popped loose and disappeared into the depths. Is this little tool hard to open and close without a lot of stuff falling out?
I've no had that problem (Yet). I'm not sure on the the disassembly of the hook device, and I don't know where you could find a schematic for it either. But it sounds like you will know before me. P.S. Please let me know how you go retrieving that hook..
Thanks. There are quite a few methods of attaching hooks to line. These knot tyers work well with spade hooks and eyed alike. Unfortunately my hands prevent me from tying many knots, due to an injury to one of my fingers. (Nerves severered and cut through to bone)
How do I tie a knotless knot directly to my fishing line without having a break in the line? The part that goes through the hole to finish the knot will be connected to my rod still. Is there a trick?
hello good evening thank you for being beautiful thank you for being wonderful I hope you have a great day. Goodnight the greatness in you is beautiful
Hi Ben I'm not sure what the largest hook size it will take. However, I'm fairly certain it would not be much larger than the one I used for the demo. The Next Hook Tier I have on order, should be able to go larger. I'll make a note to test the largest hooks I have and pop them beside the appropriate tools.🙂
This looks fancy but unfortunately it's useless. This device does NOT tie the line over the length of the hook shaft (as it should be), it just ties loops over the line itself, stacking it. This is not a proper knot.
@@GarryPurcell I agree but I believe this device is meant for that kind of knots. It just didn't work for me and I'm just faster with my hands (however this may sound lol).
Unfortunately not everyone has the finger dexterity to tie knots. I personally had my index finger cut through to the bone, in a freak accident A plastic handle on a pull rope of a petrol generator shattered, and sliced my finger in half", and I have now lost all the nerve endings to one side of that finger.😟
Nice review Garry... I dont think that a device like that is for me. Mostly because I do not want to carry it around! That being said, I am looking for the perfect line cutter. Subscribed... hopefully you will enjoy the content on my channel enough to do the same.
Hi Christian There was a time when I could also tie a knot by hand.🙂 But due to an injury (Deep cut severing nerves) I have lost that ability. So a device like this one, allows me to continue fishing.🎣
Some oeople cant because of an injury or authoritis or something.. that was realky rude dude.. just because your so quick to tie knots your making fun of people...shame on you
He's not knocking it, it's just a lack of understanding, I thought the same thing until I read comments. Same as like the as seen on TV egg crackers, there stupid to regular people, unless your disabled, you wouldn't understand generally
Dude I can tell by your comments that you have no idea of what it's like to live with a disability, I pray you never have a disability, but for those of us who do, please refrain from making such comments.

I have arthritis in-both hands , so this little gadget is a god send. Please, don’t knock it
I pesonally think tis is the best knot tyer I've tested so far.🙂
I really appreciated the video it was definitely informative as i have been looking for a decent electric hook tying device
Glad it was helpful!
Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Its all a matter of how much dexterity you have with your hands.
Probably good for someone who has shaky hands or has a hard time seeing the line.
Its a handy tool, as you get Older, you''ll begin to appreciate it a bit more.

I also have another Knot tying tool.
I'ts still in the original packing. (Hook-Eze) and I will get around to making a video on it shortly.
Does anyone know the knot strength of this type of knot? Many knots you will see listed as a percentage what the line is rated for.
That's a very good question, I would like to know myself.
1 ton or 99%
