Sorry to hear that! I remember the first c4 I picked up, the input shaft came out in my hand. That gave me an Erie feeling about them. The ugly wagon is still hauling the mail!
this is why i switched to a c6 in my 81 cougar XR 7 because it will soon be getting a 408 you were taking that guy so keep at it also i have a 275 first in my c6 thanks for the video

@@danielbrealey2924 His youtube channel is awesome! But the information there, is more or less in bits and pieces, the books are still better for educating yourself on specific subjects. But the channel is a must see, there's some stuff in there that isn't in any of the books I've read to date.
Andy thats a shame. Now! I did comment on your 2-3 shift only a week or so back saying to address that flare,, now you must fix the breakage aswell as the flare!
@@UnityMotorSportsGarage that 2-3 shift combo of band release and clutch apply got to be spot on, no flare, no bind. At your power level and vehicle weight you will be fighting to fix this properly. Make sure you high clutch piston has not had an excessive size centrifugal bleed hole drilled in it. This delays high clutch movement and apply time. .006" per clutch plate clearance. Grooved plates(many wont agree but it works). You can put all the best parts in but if you still have a flare you will then just burn clutches. Personally I'd be taking this opportunity to move to a TH400 but i get some guys dont like mixing brands. **i see another post saying you're going to an E40d/4r100 👍👍

Andy, what happened to your Progression Ignition distributor for the Boss? It had a fully adjustable vacuum advance built in, didn’t it? Sorry about the trans, just lower Casper’s tailgate and have at it! 😎
Ah, I saw that from Progression. Launch Control and data logging! Those should help you on race days. I bought a Pro Ign. distributor (after watching your dyno day episode where you installed one on the Boss) for my 71 Nova that I swap engines between a street 400 SBC, a 377 SBC 7500 RPM drag motor, and the 496 BBC it came with. The ease in which you can change timing, or upload saved timing maps for each, on the fly if need be, is so nice! I love it. Good luck with Casper and the Boss; great channel too!

I second the c6. You can put the late model gear set in for a lower 1st and 2nd, and c6s can be lightened up a lot. Lots of NHRA stockers run light weight c6s that are just as quick as c4s.

Oh, that sucks. You were winding him in pretty good, too. No doubt the motor's making some steam. Time for a TH-400. You don't need to tell anyone it's got a Chevy trans in it.
Why not step up to a C6, how much power will that cost, it can't be that much what maybe 15 HP vs the C4? A C6 with a gear venders unit would be the ticket. You can up your rear gear and still be able to drive it on the highway. The extra gearing would make up for the 15 HP loss from switching to a more durable transmission. Dealers choice though, just hate seeing people struggle trying to find the weak link. Built a forged internals solid roller cam, Dart heads, single plane high rise intake sbc 383 for a friend that broke 4 powerglide transmissions, 3 th350 transmissions until he went with a th400 burnt that one up and went to a performance build th400 that's staying alive. A side note, he broke two 9 inch Ford 31 spline axles and 2 center sections as well until he upgraded to 40 spline axles. Now he doesn't have to play, find the weak link anymore. He can take it out, beat the snot out of it and when he's done park it to wait to take it out next time. Good luck.
That c-4 carried the mail for a while, definitely not a waste, Andy knew he was on borrowed time with it. Time to figure out what broke, upgrade and drag some more 💪

DV did a video about that gas everywhere problem recently, the one about velocity stacks. Air from the scoop is disrupting your carbs.

I love the C4 Ford transmission but its just not enough for your truck. You got to much HP and the truck is heavy. Give it up. I now love my 4r70w.
