    Hey guys! Thanks for watching! Correction to the video... day one shows total weight and day 2 shows points. Lowest amount of points gets Gold. (Points = 1st place 1 point. Second place 2 points... for each day per team.)

    I love how the "give a crap" factor on the netting rule went from 100% on day 1 to like 30% on day 2 lol! I cracked up when you started boat flipping them in to the net haha classic.

    I had a couple moments this past year just as Scott did 14:55-14:57 where the fish just over 4lbs just spits the hook right at the boat. Those moments really make react like Mike Iaconelli when he loses a fish

      The fish jumping there is a carp.
      It is the fish of choice for South African anglers.
      They are omnivorous fish and although they are considered indigenous they actually originated from Japan.
      Many carp anglers kill bass as they are misinformed and believe that the bass are a threat to the supposedly indigenous carp species. Carp in fact are an alien species to our waters just like bass are.

      It's FIPS Italian Mafia "Penalty" Scoring. So there are 39 or so boats in the field. Your Boat position at the end of each day determines a "Penalty" 1st = 1 x Penalty, 2nd = 2 Penalties and so on (Kind of like a Reverse AOY Scoring at BASS)...So a perfect boat score would be 3 "Penalties" over 3 Days. Each country has 3 Boats on the water, so the perfect Country Score over 3 days would be 1+2+3 = 6 x 3 Days = 18 "Penalties". In Effect, the Country with the FEWEST BOAT PENALTIES over 3 Tournament Days WINS. Like I said, it's "Italian Mafia Scoring". It's very severe on a Country that "leaves" a Boat Pairing behind, that boat could score 39 "Penalties. If I remember correctly, the best performing "Couple" (what the Italian FIPS Mafia call a Boat Pairing") scored just 7 Penalties over 3 Days.

    • @howabouthetruth2157
      @howabouthetruth2157 6 років тому

      I really appreciate you explaining.......and this is kind of embarrassing, but I have to confess, even after trying to make sense of this weird "penalty system".........I still don't get it. Not at all. Call me stupid I guess, lol. They can have those tiny bass over there anyway. I just got back from the Stick Marsh/Farm 13 ( Florida ) to find your response to my question ( thank you my friend ), and THE BAIT I was using ( live wild golden shiners ) today, was bigger than many of the bass they are catching over there, I'm not even kidding. My 3 biggest bass today were: 4.5, 5.5, and 7 lbs. I caught about a dozen other bass on shiners AND artificial lures, but they were all between 2 and 3 lbs. AND THE BITE SHUT DOWN AFTER ONLY 2 HOURS. The wind shifted to come out of the North, and they were all done.

      We had a weird mild winter, the main Spawning wave passed through about 6 weeks early during August. The usual winning daily bag during the October Spawn (usual time) goes 20 - 25 lb or so. Unfortunately we are a dry country with small artificial lakes which we call "dams"....The Vaal River is the only venue which has the size and facilities to hold an event like this (Still a "Bath Tub" as compared to USA Lakes). SA Record for LM is some 13 lbs, the Africa LM Record (Zimbabwe) +/- 19 lbs. but at some of their venues, you need a 35 lb bag just to hit the top ten at times! The South African / African SM Record is just on 8 lbs. Biggest LM that I've ever seen weighed at this venue went just under 11 lbs at National Championships 4 years ago (Early Spring) & best the 5 fish bag.....some 24 lbs. (one day derby during spawn). Over the last year, most 1 day derbys were won with 16 - 18 lb bags. The dodgy weather experienced during the event didn't help as the late spawning hens dropped back off the beds when the cold front hit overnight between the Pre-Fish Days and the 1st Tournament Day.

    Huge fan of this video, but you really should have edited out the clip where you say "retarded".

    Great video but that opening noise is nauseating. For the love of god, find something new. Reminds me of some crap a kid may be listening to while watching anime.
