I successfully recreated CAWs with faces available from VPW2 My current stable has Chono, Hashimoto, Muta, Koshinaka, Takada, N. Ogawa, Yamada, M. Funaki, Shinzaki, Ezaki (H), Don Frye, Stan Hansen, Gary Albright, Kobashi, Taue, Onita, Tenryu, Jado, and Omori. There are a few left to recreate like Sakuraba and Mark Kerr but sadly the combo system isn’t in NM so it’s moot. Everyone I made had GameShark codes for their hidden movesets and even use taunts and weapons. They even use different special finishers instead of corner turnbuckle front grapples.

I get what you mean. But I've personally always felt the opposite. I wouldn't usually call it by those names unless if I was referring to Scott Hall or Razor Ramon because it was him that made it famous. So I've always looked at someone else using the move as lesser than so it's the crucifix powerbomb unless used by the master.
Hey I literally just booted up my no mercy on my old 64 and the whole “alt gimmicks “ thing is there but I don’t have where multiple wrestlers share the same slot. I have a slot specifically for ivory , Jackie, funkai and everyone else u mentioned. Fucking weird
I'm assuming you gave them their own slots. You can change it back by editing them and pressing c up on the profile and appearance screens. Taka was overused anyway. 🤣
