    Your explanation was very thorough and will be helpful to replicate these designs, for those wanting to make a lapel and reverse collar. Amazing how you positioned the rule, measuring and drawing lines to achieve the perfect pattern.

    What is the measurement of the collar

  • @christinaastreha

    It's my first time trying this, I'm a beginner and I have two question.
    First of all how do we sew the overlap line so that we have a clean finish, don't we need to have more fabric to turn behind and sew to have a double fabric and also be able to sew a botton, like in chemises ?
    Also you talk about the overlap but in the photos I don't see it. I'm confused am I supposed to see it?
    Lastly I get that the lapel is cut along with the bodice. Though the collar is cut and sewn on seperately right?
    I would appreciate to get and answer from you or anyone that would be eager to help.
    Thanks for reading my comment
    Byee,
    Christina :))

      I really wish I can explain how to sew it but unfortunately words fails me to really put the words together and I don’t have a sewing video to help . If you have a blazer you can go ahead and study how it’s sewn. this is actually how I learnt how to sew a jacket neatly and yes you need to add lining to the whole jacket
      There is an overlap it starts about 2 Inches upwards from the first pin on the dress form down to the bottom check the photo at the beginning of the video.
      The lapel is attached to the bodice the collar cut separately

    Pls what is the dimension of the neck in width and height both for the front and back panel

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  2 роки тому

      I don’t quite get the question . Do you mean the neckline width of the basic bodice itself or you mean the width of the lapel and height of the collar at the back ????

    • @onadekomorayo5803
      @onadekomorayo5803 2 роки тому

      @@CillaSi the neckline

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  2 роки тому

      @@onadekomorayo5803 generally a lot of tutorial will say for the back neckline, neck width from center back 3” and the come down with 1” while for the front 3” by 3” though this might work for some people, but for the sake of accuracy, I don’t usually go with this because Everyone’s neck size ain’t the same you know . Personally for this bodice the neckline dimension here is …..
      Back neckline = width 2⁵/₈ depth ¾”
      Front neckline = width 2½ depth 3”
      Ps : the front and back across shoulder measurements are not the same The back across shoulder is wider by ¹/₄” than the front hence, this has an effect on the neck width of both the front and back neckline.
