I've never thought of using it like this. I always had an issue trying fuji x weekly recipes but now I can test them at home to see what I like. I have thousands of raw files.

Subtle recipes work best, if you're not going to go spec to purpose like old film being rated D for daylight, T for tungsten etc. What I find is best is generally letting the kelvin value create the most of the mood of the image. Certain simulations respond very differently in cold balances compared to warm ones. For example: Chrome at 4500k or 4800k neutralises it's muddiness and turns the greenish sky blues into a strong royal blue.

Class Chrome for ever! Like you recipe, may need to play with my xs10 and set up some looks especially for family photos when they visit and dont have time to edit RAW photos to give them.
I have noticed that the most pleasing result for Fujifilm cameras is to use Classic Chrome with Auto WB and +2, -4 color shift. That's all. Gives very nice results day and night, sunny or overcast.

I didn’t know about this app… I was planning to load a group of RAW files onto an SD card, put it into the camera (same X100V that took the shots) and then tweak internal settings, do RAW conversions, and continue with trial and error until I got what I’m looking for. This app is going to speed up the process considerably.
For anyone wondering why the app sends the image to the camera and has the camera do the processing, I suspect it's because that makes it accurate to how the images will appear on the camera if you use those recipes. Instead of having to replicate the camera's image processing in the app's code (uniquely for every camera and firmware combination), they simply let the camera do the work. There's also the possibility that if they were to replicate the processing in the app, they would potentially make it easier for other companies to reverse-engineer the processing code. It's my understanding that the designers of modern ROM chips for devices like this go to great lengths to make it difficult to read the code out of the chip after it's written. As a programmer, DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) is a very important principle. It makes code much easier to maintain and significantly reduces bugs by not including the same code in multiple places. Since the code they're using for in-camera processing would be designed for the embedded processor of the camera, I expect they wouldn't easily be able to reuse that same code in the raw app, so they'd be re-implementing the code by hand for every camera and every firmware version. That's a big no-no. I'm only guessing, of course, and I have no real experience with high-end embedded programming like this, but it's interesting to speculate.
I do wonder if it’s a combination of like you say not needing to duplicate work, but also the fact that they can keep their colour processing under wraps, if they made desktop app with the formula in, the competition would mine it very easily. Whereas on their own locked down camera chips it’s a lot harder. Funnily the only reason the website gives is so that you don’t need a good laptop or anything as the camera does the heavy lifting

I only own an X-S20 but am limited to 4 custom slots and I want to experiment a bit and love to store the ones I like. This way I could always sync the top 4 of the moment via this software. Which would be AMAZING.
im pretty sure you can! you can definitely save more than the camera can hold on the software! no idea what the limit is but I must have about 10 at the moment

What luts you use or your process for color grading?! Your video quality is insane, I have fuji xt4 but not yet getting results like your video quality? I appreciate if you do a video explaining your video settings and color grading process. Thanks in advance.
This might be really disappointing! I think it’s all in the lighting etc rather than my camera set up. This is what I do: - 4k / 24p - All-intra 400MBs (this video is actually long gop 200MBs as I knew it would be long and I might run out of space - Provia simulation - everything else on default so no recipe applied - edited in final cut; all I do is raise the shadows slightly, and drop the highlights

can i ask what's the difference between doing this and applying presets on another software like Lightroom for example.? Because you can get similar or better results.
It’s mainly connivence of completely skipping the editing stage. For me it’s more about speed, and sometimes I just don’t want to edit my photos. Hope that helps

Another interesting option is setting clarity to 0 for the shooting and change it later at home to avoid camera delay.

With NR at -4 it is still applying some NR to the image.
