- First Hike of 2024. Off to a great start with a classic loop trail located in Anacortes Washington. It was a shocking 17 degrees out with wind chill which didn't stop me. I started at the Whistle lake trail head and made my way to the lake with great views of the local cliffs many enjoy jumping from in summer time. Once here i looped back to the main trail going to SugarLoaf Mountain wich is a great spot for a snack. Here you decend down the west side and work your way to Mt. Erie which is the golden ticket for the best views.

Super chilly morning! We really enjoy hiking in that area. I always refer to my GAIA App too, otherwise you can get turned around sometimes. We haven’t hiked up to Sugarloaf before, I was under the impression that there were no views- but I was totally wrong… very nice view of the Olympics. Huge payoff with the views at the top of Mount Erie! 👌💙🙌🙌
Beautiful area!! Great video!!
Much agree. Big rewards for little hiking
Beautiful hike brother!! Thanks for the amazing views!!! Currently hunkered down inside sheltering from the snow lol.
I don't blame you. This hike was 17 degrees and I still went for the 6 miles with blistering face 😳
