This time, the authentic appearance and movement will be presented by Christophe Dumaux, whose voice was hailed as “bright, clear and strong” in a review in The New York Times, while he was described as “tall, trim and athletic: a natural on stage”. He has sung in Handel’s operas on the world’s greatest stages from the Vienna Staatsoper and La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In addition to the opera arias, a beautiful cantata and a moving Marian hymn and concertos by Vivaldi will also be performed, conducted by Jonathan Cohen, a British master of Baroque music and a return conductor of the Festival Orchestra.

This is just beautiful! Always loved Christophe, he is getting better and better and is one of the very, veeeery few countertenors worth listening to. The conductor and the orchestra were really wonderful as well, great chemistry. I wish I could have been there!

There's so much rubbish out there these days. People calling themselves 'Countertenors'. I was privileged to see Christophe in Rinaldo about 10 years ago and he blew me away! How he managed to make light work of Venti Turbini whilst riding around on a bicycle that finally disappeared up into the heavens I will never know. That night I witnessed what could only be described as a miracle! The whole structure and placing of his voice is simply huge leaving no parts of the required range lacking. I never want my money back when I see him perform. He is simply world class. There are so many 'countertenors' on the market these days but not many in the top spots. You are a master of your trade Christophe and I look forwards to hearing your sublime voice for many years to come - God bless you!!!
Please give us names of the countertenors that you don't like.
Christophe Dumaux, Iestyn Davies, Tim Mead, Andreas Scholl, Philippe Jeroussky occupy the top spots in my opinion. I simply wouldn't bother with the rest!
