Today I type this out to become more and aware of my own suffering and release the thoughts and programming that I must suffer to obtain growth. They say pain is inevitable and suffering is optional. Many of us have become attached to our own suffering after going through such long periods of it. Thank you to the Dragons and Jack. I appreciate your work and find it very comforting.
I love this analogy of grain of sand in the eye. So good. This is true. I just cried away this grain of sand last night. More sand will come but I am getting more adept at blinking it away.

The grain of sand analogy is so powerful. I have been so much less able to tolerate suffering and have to stay above everyday conflicts on a different level. While everyone is frantically still clawing at each other and being cruel, I feel almost a little cold just staying out of it and processing in a “higher” level. It’s like if I allowed myself to change back to that misery I just couldn’t take it. I just have to watch people experience all this cyclical pain over and over and wait for them to also be sick of it.
Spiritually detaching and being dispassionate in the face of the emotional dysregulation of others is a useful tool that is necessary for us at times. I don't actually feel that is what the sand in the eye analogy is pointing to. Rather, the sand in the eye is above moving TOWARD suffering. It is about meeting it, rather than detaching from it. That doesn't mean you need to engage with anyone who is throwing all their negative energy everywhere. More that alongside your ability to detach from suffering you can nurture the skill of meeting it as it arises within yourself.

I Knew He Was Inspired By The Mythical Realms. Same With Christopher Paolini's Eragon Series, Whether They Were Even Aware of This Inspiration When They Created Those Stories Or Not. =-D
Oh Tolkien was absolutely aware of being inspired by mythology. He drew a great deal from nordic mythology and also other world myths. If I remember rightly he was a professor of history and a linguist. He was also a Christian and inspired by the Christian mystics. Yet, despite all this, I still feel he was inspired by creative forces that he wasn't aware of, and, indeed, these world myths were also inspired by such other worldly creative forces and brought into the world by various types of channel.
