Swades was the first Indian film to be shot inside the NASA headquarters and inside the NASA research center at the Launch Pad 39A of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The rainfall monitoring satellite known as the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) in the film is an actual NASA mission and was launched in 2014.
I thought it was filmed at Goddard Space Flight Center here in Maryland, or at least parts of it (I live about 20 minutes from Goddard)?

Mohan didn't drink the water but later in the Train 🚂 he bought and drink water from that poor little boy 😢 for 25 paise per glass. That scene literally broke me when I was young 😭😭😭

100% better than LAGAAN
Lagaan has a great story, amazing supporting casts, and honestly, anyone can play Aamir’s role, but Swades… where to begin, SRK is phenomenal here, no one can play Mohan like he does, of course Swades has amazing casts too and so beautiful story! So yes, 100% much better than any movies 😊
Lagaan and Swades both are fantastic movies. Both belong to different genres. Lagaan was an extremely well made sports based movie at the same time touching upon British imperialism, their tyranny, their arrogance and also multiple social issues which Indians had and how they got together and fought back British in their own game. Swades on the other hand is all about self realisation, remembering ones roots, giving back to society. Ashutosh Govarikar treated both these movies as he should have and did a wonderful job. He is a very brave person to have picked up such subjects and handled so well, without getting trapped into typical bollywood patterns.
