I like the tone and the fact that there is almost no difference in transitions between layers. What I don't like is that in the 4 horns multipatch there are strange sounds on some notes, as if the phase leaves at the very beginning of the note, maybe this is also in other instruments, I haven't studied it in detail yet. At the same time on patches with separate articulations there is no such thing. And at the highest velocity values there is a significant jump in volume, no such thing in CSB.
The attacks on a lot of the Afflatus Brass instruments are inexcusably terrible. As a big fan of Strezov Sampling (Afflatus Strings, Jade, all the choirs, Balkan, and some smaller products) I'm actually a bit shocked it was released like this. I will never, ever pre-order from them again.
@@thisislanceDo you get it cheaper when you pre-order? It just seems strange that you would buy this instead of Samplemodeling Brass (plus spatial FX), and other libraries only when it proves to be exceptional.
@@TheUnderscore_ Yes there was a good pre-order deal. I've also historically had really good experience with Strezov, and didn't hear this badness in the walkthrough or in the live Q&A. I don't like Samplemodeling Brass if looking at placing it in a good size room, even with software like Mir Pro 3D. It's simply never the same as a large hall or stage and I've not heard a single convincing example.
I was looking up masterchef episodes and stumbled across your channel instead. Funny enough I've been interested in composition and conducting for higher level bands and this is a great channel to show me what's available. I also wanna play in my own band as well and these programs are great for creating templates to reference to. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
@@talnomix3164 Percisely, but I hope ya don't mind from what I said. By Hans Zimmer, I meant the proper "Mega Brass" for the Low Brass that it might be deeper.
@@talnomix3164 Huh? Hans Zimmer uses plenty of brass, even in a more classical fashion - not just that wall of brass sound. E.g. Lion King, Kong Fu Panda, Gladiator, Pirates, Prince of Egypt, and so on.
As good as this library is, and we all want them all, if I have CSB along with all the brass libraries from Cinesamples, do you feel it worth the investment? I'm thinking not. I compose a fusion of classical and instrumental, more on the romantic side.
CSSeries is known for having very strange recordings, to the point where mostly people using those libraries as their main workhorse series started to switch to products of notable lower quality (SSB for instance) and mixing engineers kinda hate mixing it. The studio tone and performances are good but the spot mics sound funny and the main mics are alright but they sound like the close mics from other libraries, if you use a lot of the main mics it'll always sound like the brass is in front of the strings, the room mics in CSB are quite decent with a very tiny amount of main mics on top but they lack depth and make the lower instruments sound choked, basically the setup used captured the worst aspects of its room, this where a tree mic setup would have helped a lot. Strezov's brass has a lot more depth because of the actual tree mics used and is much easier to mix, it also has a more varied instrument and patch choice, but CSB is just super good and overall I prefer it as a library
I wish they would do alla carte. Prob hard in Kontakt though. That is a big price if one say has so many others. There are some distinct patches though.
Loving this library so far.

Awesome, thank you so much!
That Afflatus Brass is likely a John Williams & Hans Zimmer Inspirational to me.
It is truly sounds awesome as I can compose with that.
Hans zimmer?? bruh he doesnt even write for brass, or at least not much.
More of John williams and howard shores :)

Hi Chrustopher.
They sound very awesome 👏🏻
But i plan to buy the whole CSS.
Would you recommend more the Strezov Afflatus Brass ?
If you already have CSB, Afflatus Brass will add some nice colours! But your workhorse will definitely be covered by CSB already.

À la carte. Speak French properly.
