League's Lore is so epic. It's so sad, that almost no one in the game actually cares about it. If Riot replaced epic champions with bunnies with same abilities, no one would give a damn as long as they will be able to kill other players.
Shen carries a lot with him - decisions of his father (Jhin and Noxian invaders), his friend-brother's (Zed) betrayal, having to keep balance between the physical and spirt realms, Akali leaving the Order - and even though he is Eye of Twilight these are some things that he wrestles heavily with.. such a great champ though
