here's a tip for anyone who shaves
while shaving, especially more sensitive areas such as your bikini area, etc, have your water on lukewarm. when done shaving turn your shower on cold and run it over those areas for a few seconds. this helps prevent ingrown hairs and some irritation. the cold sucks, but it works like a charm!

(EDIT: use lukewarm water, not cold when going back over where you shaved. this helps prevent cold bumps)
(EDIT2: it has come to my attention that some people may not know what 'tend skin' is. its this absolutely amazing liquid solution that you rub over where you shave and the next day you will have literally no irritation. I dry my skin and put a generous amount of it on with my hand directly after getting out of the shower. but beware, dont touch your folds/anything internal with it, it will burn. I did it accidentally once and it is not fun. wash your hands after using it, you dont want this stuff getting in your eyes. and a bottle lasts FOREVER. seriously, I only need like 3 or so bottles a year)

I have that problem on my whole body! I do shave my armpits etc, but I also have a ton of hair on my arms, stomach and back. If I shaved my arms for example, I'd have to shave my whole body because it'd just be a visible part without hair. You'd basically be able to see the line where I stopped shaving! Oh and my legs burn like heeell after shaving. It's literally torture. Idk what to do about it.

To prevent ingrown hairs or itchy shaving regions use shea butters as an aftershave! A relief for ingrown pimples is a little water mixed with tea tree oil! Doesn't work for everyone!

HOWEVER hair is no longer as vital as it was when humans were in their primal years. Shaving is a cosmetic practice. Point blank period. The only con of not shaving is that excessive hair needs to be washed. Obviously you can’t shampoo ur vagina hair and icky things can get caught in it so trimming at LEAST is a hygiene must

for “down there” (this is what i do)
if you’re shaving other parts of your body, do this last since you wanna yk- get to this right away. shave with a men’s five blade razor and use shaving cream/gel (never dry shave, use warm water to open pores first.) shave normally and wash your razor every 2/3 strokes. rinse and then use baby oil, a light coat of unscented gentle rub on deodorant. use baby powder and baby lotion. then you can either use rubbing alcohol or a really cold towel to close the pores, ive never used the rubbing alcohol since i have very sensitive skin, it can cause short stinging or bleeding; don’t panic. i just soak a towel in ice cold water and pat dry. i then use a teensy bit of aloe vera gel; like half of a penny. and gently pat it on (never rub anything aggressively, you’ll only irritate your skin) i use a lil more baby lotion and then- yeah lol. i hope this helped someone. 🥺

I use my body wash and a razor and I’m good I felt scared too you might have to trim it before you do it
Realistically you might it’s happened to me before and it will bleed but it will stop pretty quickly. Might be uncomfortable for a day or two but really isn’t bad. The cut itself hurts of course but nothing unbearable I wouldn’t let it stop you or shaving those areas is something that you want to do.
Or if it grows back the other day and the little hairs itch😭😭

Just shower afterwards and wash up really good. The itch is usually because of loose hair in underwear or on the skin. Works for me.

LIGHT exfoliating after helps reduced chances of ingrown hairs after shaving. Use a scrub not a chemical exfoliate though.

I exfoliate before and after to make sure I get all the dead skin off so it’s a clean shave😊 it makes such a difference
@Salma Valladares you can just mix coconut oil with sugar and you have a really nice scrub! I also recommend the scrubs from lush.

Okay, am I the only one who never shaved in the direction the hair was growing before watching this!? I was never taught to do that, ive always done it opposite! Never again.

I think legs is fine to shave opposite. I have always fone that and never had ingrown hair issue. Now, the kitty is a different story. Always shave in hair growth direction!
I have a lot of thick hair... Like everywhere... EVERYWHERE! So thanks for the tips, girl! Gonna try sugar waxing tho, cause I talked to my gynecologist about shaving bikini zone etc and she told me waxing or sugar waxing would be so much better for that type of skin to avoid irritation and stuff. Hope this helps people who have to deal with terribly irritated skin after shaving like I do ;)

The trick with sugar waxing or halwa as it's called in the Arab culture is to do small areas at a time
I got a lot of ingrown hair and issues while waxing down there for years. I literally have scars so i switched to shaving which was definitely a good choice for me, however, i do get irritated and have some pimples, but definitely better than that ingrown issue.
