There are lots of artists that should be mentioned way before the beatles, mj and ac/dc for the role they played in music history. Rachmaninoff for instance, but also more modern ones like run-d.m.c. Just because you’re a fan of the beatles and such, and they were popular in their time, don’t make them important to specifically music history. Maybe history in general, yes, but music-wise not so much. Most of their inovations were in rhythm and instrumentation more so than chord structure and melody. And don’t forget, he left out jazz completely ;)

Baroque is a thing, neoclassicism from the 18th century is another thing, romanticism is different and then all the different "genres" between the end of the 19th century and the 2 world wars are indipendent as well. Most of the time people dismiss someone that says "i listen to classical music" with "only that?". It's just utter nonsense. It's like saying "I listen to pretty much every musical genres that came after the 50s" and respond with "mm, only that?"

Ahora hablando en serio, no es si tenga razón o no, lo que se plantea en su comentario es 100% desde la subjetividad. Quiero decir que ninguna opinión se puede catalogar como algo correcto o algo malo.
Por otro lado, "Despacito", al igual que que las canciones de los últimos años sí han formado una evolución. La música como la conocemos actualmente se aleja muchísimo de sus orígenes tanto rítmica como temáticamente, y, finalmente, como todos deberíamos saber la evolución tiene como significado el cambio gradual de algo en un determinado ámbito. La evolución no necesariamente sucede para mejorar algo, lo explicó por su última frase: "...Eso no es evolución", que se puede inferir que tiene una actitud de desprecio hacia el estado final de la música, desconociendo el verdadero significado de evolución.

Well, I think Chopin was the best of all. But that's just my opinion. But it is a fact that modern music is absolute garbage.
