    Great painting, just taken up painting at 74, lockdown got me into it , something's good out of this misery! Just attempted doing a portrait of my wife off a photo when I met her thirty years ago , after multiple mistakes, it's got a passing likeness lol!

      That's great! A passing likeness is all you need most of the time :). Glad you picked up painting, it's a great thing to do.

    how do you get your oils so slick, are you diluting them with a paint thinner, i find it hard to get a good ratio between thinner and paint, any tips?

    Do you intentionally bend out your liner brush?

    • @gagnonstudio
      @gagnonstudio  3 роки тому +2

      No, it works for me, but sometimes I forget to take them out of my cleaning bucket and they get bent, so it's just because of forgetfulness. I kind of like keeping a few of the bent ones around though because it gives a unique stroke. Thanks for commenting!

    nice painting bro...what is the pro and cons with oil colour, can i acrylic paint like oil colour? and how to prevent the toxic of the oil paint bro? thanks

    • @gagnonstudio
      @gagnonstudio  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you. The pros to oils are that they dry slower so you have more time to blend colors together. This allows you to get more natural edges to things. Acrylics dry fast so when you paint details you end up with a lot of sharp edges making a painting look too defined. You can achieve the same look as oils with acrylics with a few techniques. Check out my last video for more tips. It's hard to not use any chemicals when using oils. Water based oils is one alternative, or you can try to find the least toxic mediums to use when using oils.
