I listened to this at the church without my parents' supervision. Even looking at the controversial images of Gorgoroth's concerts. This made my day much better.
What the hell? What were you doing in a church in the first place? If you had a pair, you'd tell your parents to stick their sanctimonious christian bullshit up where god's light don't shine and stay out of that place, and actually live like an independent human being.
I used to skip the fifth track when I first got this album cuz the wall of noise but one day I waited through it and was like, "OH SHIT!!!!" That bass line is so pumpin'.
This album has some serious power behind it. Frost is absolutely crushing the drums. A gem of an album I am just discovering after reading a book about black metal this album was mentioned. Glad I checked it out.
This album is top-notch, brutal, raw, perfect Norwegian black metal. I fucking love it. I love the riffs, the melodies, the sound, the atmosphere, the vocals, the drumming - everything.
Agreed. I don't know why others out there like to bash it. Ad Majorem...along with Tsjuder's "Desert Northern Hell" are two of my all-time favorite Black Metal albums to listen to.
Its better without him. Hat and Pest are way better than him. The only worthwhile gaahl era album is incipit satan, this and twilight are both boring norsecore, this one has some good moments tho(like sign of an open eye)

I first obtained the " Wound Upon Wound" single from Terrorizer mag's Fear Candy compilation cd (UK) the one with Tom G warrior on the cover of the mag. It sounded so superior and menacing. Frost's drumming is so visceral here and glorifying.
He's the worst. The others have great shrieks. But Gaahl only groans without any aggression or natural breakup and they put some distortion on it and call it a day.
The good songs: 1. Wound Upon Wound 0:00 3. God Seed (Twilight of the Idols) 7:40 5. White Seed 16:00 6. Exit 20:37 7. Untamed Forces 24:08 8. Prosperity and Beauty 26:45

The thing I love about black metal is that a whole album sounds like 1 huge song. 1 huge message.
Infernus is a genius writer. Word not used sparingly, the guy just writes endless great deep songs.
@Mithrin Galad I stand corrected. But it slays.
Like a rhapsody
How is that good?

mad lad. such wow
Burn in Hell
Wound Upon Wound.... one of the best black metal tracks ever conceived. It's VERY hard to top that level of merciless destruction.
Haha you are definitely an Aura Noir fan ;)
It's an amazing song. To me personally, Carving a Giant is the highlight of the album, but Wound Upon Wound is a very close second!
Sign of an Open Eye is my favorite Gorgoroth song.
Rebirth >>
Mine as well, and the first song I ever heard by them
+Kanus Gamer Rebirth made me love this band.
+Kanus Gamer makes me wish Gaahl was on the album that song was on. Gotta say Pest did a wonderful job tho
Carving a Giant is the reason why i love Black Metal
Prosperity & Beauty is a pure black jewel which makes me pass through the mirror...

Dante and Virgil in Hell, Bouguereau, 1850.
I'd prefer the fall of the dawned though
Just pulled this up 12 years to the day of its release. Still kicks ass.
It happens to me a lot as well, I don't know why
Bought this back in 06 when I was 15, ears still ringing. Gaahl fuck yeah
One of my favorite albums 🔥🤘💜
This may just be my favourite black metal album of all time.
The depth to this album...embraced the Thurisaz rune.
Just the best! This was the first time hearing "white seed", almost burnt my house down man

Big respect to Hat and Pest but Gaahl is definitely my favourite Gorgoroth frontman.

Seriously, he has absolutely nothing on Pest. Zero.
Can some1 have an opinion without some kids shitting all over it?!?
gaahl has rotten hellish voice.....
he have soul, thing that you "brutal" guys can't understand

Great album, especially the last track.
the best of gorgoroth
It has been recorded 15 years ago from today!
Those riffs are incredibly good! 🤘🏻
Gods Exit is such a crushing song
I am so glad Gaahl did this album in English 🔪🩸🩸🩸
My second favorite Gorgoroth album.
whats your favorite?
Twilight of the Idols (In conspiracy with Satan)
Neanderthal
thats a great one
came to this one after being hooking on carving a giant
Fucking killer licks and riffs. I’m not a huge black metal fan but these guys are amazing they kill it live. love the presence they bring
I would love to watch this life...bestially awesome!! \m/
I always find it weird that Gorgoroth tends to put its best guitar melodies as a fading out ending to the song.
Totally agree.
Exit is a nice example.
finally someone said it lmao
One of the best black metal albums i've heard
This album is fantastic. Woof.
Frost did a master job with the drums. In the song Exit, he is a demon speed
My FAV album by Gorgoroth 🤘🏻🤘🏻
This album is a masterpiece. Its very special.
The good songs:
1. Wound Upon Wound 0:00
3. God Seed (Twilight of the Idols) 7:40

Damn Gaahl and King really do make magic together.
My favourite two bands are Gorgoroth and Simply Red.
That s shitloads of contrast . But it's good for you man
Gorgoroth and Spice Girls.

I don't always listen to Black metal but when I do it's gorgoroth! 🇧🇻

Frost is a fucking beast on the skins \m/
***** yes he played the drums as a session musician
lol
It's frost, ghaal and infernus? How mad is that
He isn’t bad at being a solid foundation. I think Nick Barker does better justice to these songs.
call him!
The Black Flame
The Bringer of Light
the morning star
Powerful, beutiful!
This is my favorite gorgoroth album but it's not on Spotify so that's kind of disappointing
I believe Infernus has the rights so he wont put up anything will Gaahl.
spotify sucks. I just buy cds, they sound better than any spotify or youtube mp3.
That's correct. After King and Gaahl tried to boot him out of his own band, he won't even play anything written by those two. Lol.
I had no idea King and Gaahl tried to kick Infernus out. For what purpose?
Their purpose was to appropriate the rights over the name gorgoroth.
I fucking love this.
Killer album, KVLT, the last of Gorgoroth. My fav' album with Pentagram.
This is a truly masterpiece from hell
MASTERPIECE \m/
