  • This is how I cut and split firewood down to a size appropriate for use in my offset smoker.

    Congratulations on new place! Excited about future episodes. I ended up buying a Grand Champ so happy. Did you end up putting a silicone gasket between fire box and cooking chamber?
    Best Regards,

      @TonyToneBBQ God it turned out super amazing, cut the fish up into big fillets, 10kg blue fin tuna, used ironbark wood, its Australian native hard wood very mild on the smoke flavours good for fish and chicken. Highly recommend trying it, cherry or pecan wood would be good options too

    Haven't seen you in a while. I thought you were in eastern NC. Really nice place you have now.

      Hi! Yeah, the last few months of 2023 were a bit crazy for us with the move and all, but I just finished setting up my new barbeque island and the set up is working super awesome! I just uploaded a new video yesterday and I've got more that I'm working on so you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the near future. I love North Carolina, and we're planning a trip to visit, hopefully before the end of the year but yeah, we're way west of NC. Thank you so much! The place is coming together nicely.

    I was using a miter saw with regular blade.Worked great on oak, maple and cherry. When I hit 4inch hickory it grabbed the wood broke the saws fence the mounts and thru the wood against a wall. Scared hell outta me

    I have some oak that I picked up around last Oct, and damn that stuff is tough. I have not yet been able to split them. I even got a splitting wedge and sharpened it up and the thing just bounces off it. Not really sure what to do. I even have a small hatchet (Fiskars I think) that also just bounces off it. Not really sure what to do. Congrats on the move. Did you move east or west?

    • @TonyToneBBQ
      @TonyToneBBQ  6 місяців тому

      Wow! That's unusual! I've never experienced that. Maybe try picking another batch? Just moved to the east side of the same town so fortunately, it was a short move. Thanks for watching!

    I just discovered you yesterday and I have watched your 1 hour long fire management video 3 TIMES! It really got me pumped to try out your method. I can honestly say, the food you're making looks every bit as good as anybody here in Texas. BTW, I personally enjoy videos where the background is a beautiful backyard like your old one. Your new ones gotta have that pool in the shot! Looking forward to more content!

      Thank you! I really appreciate that! Yeah, I'm struggling with the positioning of my rigs here at the new place. Right now I've got them set up with my back to the pool area, which means the pool area wouldn't be in the shot. Wind does most of the dictating of how I can set things up and so far, this seems to be the best but I'm working on it. I miss open space of the old back yard but the new back yard is actually bigger and has more useful features. It's a struggle! I'm working on it though. Thank again for watching! Your comment means a lot to me!

    Awsome backyard mate. Free weber kettle beautiful, slow n sear 2.0 was the best investment for my weber kettle and a vortex.
    So I work for a building company here in Australia and a automatic open and closing roof would be perfect for that bbq area if it starts to rain while you are mid cook the sensors will close the roof automatically no need to rush around and move things, and on nice days open it up and bath in the beautiful sun.👌

      That's great idea! The wife and I were at a home show recently and we saw something like that but I was wondering if it was rainproof. I'll have to look into this. And automatically closing roof would be awesome! Thanks again!

      I am half way through a cook on the smoking champ now testing out the new mod the grill in the fire box and raised it up above the bolt in the vent and my God I am getting alot more burn time out of my fuel 👌
      So the company I work for is called Spanline Home Additions Australia. It is a franchise business, but surely you could find something like that in America.
      I mean us Australians are always 10 years behind the world 😅🍻
