My vote is for the pinky red. I think the tone of that red is much closer to the purple shade that you showed. I think the burgundy red would be a little overpowering with all of the other colors.
Peppermint & Holly is going to be sooo beautiful in those French General fabrics! I can't wait to see it come together! It's amazing what a close match that French General fabric is to the Wild Orchid one. My vote is for the darker red, but I think both would be beautiful. Way to go on the walking!!

It may come down to how the pattern shows up in the appliqué piece with all that multi colored floral in it. I suspect I may have three different houses cut out to audition. ☺️
Sampler. Wonderful projects you are working on. Here in ski country, Breckenridge, we have not been getting the snow we need and have had some milder days than we should. Our property has about 3 feet piled up, which sounds like a lot, but with warmer temps it makes skiing not as good. Thanks Lori, for you video. Way to go on your walking!!

It’s really worked out. Today is my rest day (trying not to overtax a knee), and I really want to get back on the treadmill. Need recovery time though!
@@texstylust I don't have a treadmill or a place to put one so that makes it a challenge. Once the weather warms up I'll be walking outside morning and evening!
@@AsberysEchoesStitches I ended up getting a walking pad. It has a very small profile and folds up and fits under the sofa. Works just as good as the big treadmill I used to have, it just doesn’t have an incline feature or all the bells and whistles like connecting through blue tooth. Inexpensive as well, as far as they go. You can find them on Amazon. If you’re interested, I could msg you the info.

I can piece it or cove the area with some applique but the fear is real working with older kits and unavailable fabric. I get it! I would vote for your darker burgundy fabric but they are both gorgeous and will both be perfect! Isnt the planning of the quilt the most fun? Finding the just perfect fabrics!! Joy! I have been addicted to the tiny nine patch challenge and cutting all the little scraps I have accumulated for years. However that has “cut” pardon the pun into my cross stitching. Wanted to get to so many heart projects. this year I am trying to not jump around on so many and focus on a few each month..see how long that lasts..and here comes market releases! Patty Lyons book- The knitting Bag of Tricks is a great resource, although that doesn’t help you right now… The Vogue Knitting Book is a great one as well as a future reference. Roxane Richardson on UA-cam has a great knitting podcast as well as Pink Knits. I had quite the journey learning to knit as I’m left handed so had many re- do’s and trips to my local knitting store.

I suggest L. Genders 1875 by Brenda Gervais With Thy Needle and Thread. I’m thinking about starting that one myself. It calls for Ruby Slipper, which is gorgeous, but DMC 22 or 3777 are always good. I like reds that are more true (sometimes called blue reds). Any red that sparks your attention is going to work just fine!
It actually turned out I had turned around my knitting and started back the other direction. Finding how to fix things is the easier part. Knowing what I did wrong it harder!! 😂

I would keep both of them as possibilities to use them both, or decide on one of them as you work along and find that you prefer one over the other. Patty Lyons book- The knitting Bag of Tricks is a great resource, although that doesn’t help you right now… The Vogue Knitting Book is a great one as well as a future reference. Roxane Richardson on UA-cam has a great knitting podcast as well as Pink Knits. I had quite the journey learning to knit as I’m left handed so had many re- do’s and trips to my local knitting store.

I love those rabbit pincushions. Both reds look good for the blackbird quilt. I happen to love the purple. But purple is my favorite color. I have noticed in the floss tubers and quilters are not fond of the color. Sampler.
I like a good eggplant or dusty purple. I may even make the block just to see, if I have enough fabric, but in general, it isn’t my first choice.
Love the cowl, I should get my daughter to teach me to crochet. She taught herself but she’s left handed. Oh everything is so pretty! Another great video ! I am thinking of joining in on the one red thread a day. I stitch mostly smalls and like muted prim colors. Any suggestions for a red fancy floss and small chart would be appreciated. Thanks 🙂
I suggest L. Genders 1875 by Brenda Gervais With Thy Needle and Thread. I’m thinking about starting that one myself. It calls for Ruby Slipper, which is gorgeous, but DMC 22 or 3777 are always good. I like reds that are more true (sometimes called blue reds). Any red that sparks your attention is going to work just fine!
