Boy, did that episode about horse drawn trams stir my memory banks. I've never ridden on trams but rode on trolleys as a kid when they preceded busses as the major source of public transportation in NYC. Gak! That makes me older than dirt. Thanks for another intriguing insight into the story behind the stamp.
My two nephews are just getting interested in stamp collecting and one big reason is they just love history. Every stamp ever made , I told them, has a historical reason for its existence and your wonderful tram story is a very good example. I told them about your vlog and my hope that they will pick it up. As an aside, American trams went out in our big cities during the first decade of the twentieth century with the advent of automobiles and cable cars. Sometime recently I saw this interesting vlog dealing with the subject of transportation which chronicled the entire development of transportation up to the present. I am going to see if I can find it. Your story piqued my interest.
A day with a new Ted Talks Stamps episode is a good day! Every stamps has a story to tell and I want to thank you for telling them in a most informative way. I doubt I would have ever learned about those Isle of Man stamps if not for your research.
We have had the viewers top 10 list, the swap challenge. What about viewers choice episodes? Would really like to know about stamps from Sovereign order of Malta (an UN recognised country without land)
Well done Ted, I learned a lot from your research. Yes, the Promenade refurbishment takes an eternity…. I keep checking the updates from Isle of Man transport and I hope I can take the horse tram someday. Thanks for the new rule of S & R, I enjoyed it a lot.
Hi ted. Hope you are well. Can you suggest a nice hardbound album for my beloved usa stamps. Thanks. Best regards from james in scotland. Great videos.
I believe the best value in a US album is Mystic’s American Heirloom Album. Good quality pages, printed in one side for stamps, while the facing page is printed with information about the stamps mounted on the next page. www.mysticstamp.com/Products/Supplies/HLM002/USA/
Nice to see back to back videos. Highlight of my weekend.
Thank you 🙏🏼, Sayantan.

Thanks, John, and best wishes to your nephews in their new hobby.
FYI, in many cities, Firestone and General Motors bought the streetcar/tram lines and closed them to force people to buy cars.
@@roger0929 Yes, I’ve read that before.
That was fun and interesting
Thanks, Alan.
Thank you TTS for the interesting history lesson
And thank you, sir.
