Good video bro! I tried really hard to find info on what to do with my R7 after exhaust/intake upgrades and there's basically nothing out there. You're the go to guy for this stuff and it's needed!
Thanks bro, yea it’s really been frustrating. You would think at least a power commander would have some maps but they don’t, there is just nothing out there for the r7
now its able to bring the yoshimura's good sound..love it!
Nice one Scout... Pity about the HP... But good to know where you stand and where you can go to from there... Will be fun watching this project progress from now and where you take it... :D
yea I expected more out of the FTECU but that was just my lack of understanding of what you actually get from the unrestricted tune. but yea now I have direction at least
I’m getting my R7 redynoed with a new chain/ sprocket setup along with new spark-plugs and coil pack. I’ll send numbers when I hear from my shop! Curious to see how much my bikes making at COS altitude.
Nice dude, look forward to hearing the numbers!
Great video, I hope you are happy with the result. It looks like you enjoyed the ride though. Take care and have a great Sunday mate. Ride on🤙
thanks ck, yea the results are ok just need to get some more fuel added and the bike will be nice. thanks for watching enjoy your week!
@@ScoutsOut Thanks, i wish you the same
Not bad numbers at all , however it sounds like ecu is restricting top end on the dyno. I need to ask Daniel at Dano's performance about this.
it could be, I think a lot of Yamahas do. now I just gotta add some fuel and see if I can get the numbers down.
Love your videos I have a 2022 r7 gp 60th anniversary edition and all the same mods basically. Toce exhaust but I did the exact 💯 same tune
I wish I got better results with the FTECU, it’s all not bad just needs more fuel
@@ScoutsOut agreed I truly felt no difference other than no exhaust popping for 380 dollars
After watching Bombgardeners videos i knew that he would crash. Considering how reckless he is driving it is a miracle he is still alive. That guy needs to change his attitute and behaviour real fast or this will not be the last accident.
Especially as a beginner with that much power. I feel for the guy, but that’s just what happens when you think you’re more experienced versus what you actually are.
Ahh sometimes crashes have nothing to do with how you ride. Sometimes they jump out and hit , I know personally.
it's hard man, not all hobbies and are safe and he is just trying to chase his dream.
@@ScoutsOut Yes, some hobbies are more dangerous than others. But you can minimize the risk on your part by riding responsible. He crashed because he was doing wheelies on a public road and lost control.
I have the 2 bros db pro full system installed but Im waiting to install the dna stage 2 kit until I send my ecu to Moore mafia. Once I do I’ll take it to a local dyno to see my numbers
That would be cool to see what you get!
New world out there with bike tunes, way back, so how did the mods help, well it feels way faster 😂
Haha yea good ole computers lol always make shit harder
Don't be to disappointed on the hp numbers. Dynos should only should be used for tuning and seeing if a combination of mods work well together. Once you use one dyno and make changes, you should go bsck to the same dyno and rerun to see if it increases or decreases power.
Keep them coming sir.
yea I don't know why I was so annoyed, I think what frustrated me was I though the FTECU did a minor fuel map and it does not touch fuel at all. But on a good note its going to be fun tuning it, cheers!!
@@ScoutsOut
Yeah that stinks. Have fun, I feel the same way you do about suspension, I don't want anything to do it with. Haha
Finally going to get the R7 tuned
Nice! How are you liking it?
@@ScoutsOut still on the mat
2wdw custom tune would have this sitting around 72hp at the tire easily.
Yea bro I need to do a tune bad
Are you going to put velocity stacks on it? Im contemplating doing it, but it would be awesome to see a tutorial on how to do it by you!
Yea I’ve been planning on it but just focusing on the tune for now. Thanks nice I understand how to tune better then I’ll through the stacks on and adjust the tune again
@@ScoutsOut cool! Can't wait for that video then! I've installed all the stuff on my bike using your guides.
Please please let me know exactly how you change the tune so I can copycat you
Yea for sure I’ll make vids on everything I do so you can do the same or see how to tune it just in case there is a slight difference with the toce
@@ScoutsOut man thank you so very much I know the bike isn't fast but omg do I love it the looks the sound the torque the weight I think it's the perfect bike for street
Are you able to change the fuel ratios without the ft ecu installed….
Technically no, but you could pull out your ecu and send it to a shop that can put a tune on it for you
I would have thought the guys at the dyno could tune your bike? So was it lean or rich after the pipe?
They could have, I just like to figure stuff out on my own lol. But the bike comes lean from the factory and the pipe makes it run more lean. I’ve been riding it with a scan tool on it for a while and it doesn’t run to lean to hurt the bike imo. I still need to fit out how to tune it though
How do you plan on adding more fuel to get that ideal mixture? The bike is a little lean from factory I noticed. I Also just added sc project’s cr-t exhaust and its really lean now to the point where I feel like I lost power on the top end. I gained it on the low end but its not as linear as stock believe it or not. I almost want to go back to stock but I have yet to tune my bike.
That is exactly how I felt with the exhaust. I also noticed getting top end back with the DNA stage 2. I’m going to use the FTECU to tune the bike a do my own runs until I feel like I succeed then take it to a dyno and see how I did
It almost makes me wish they made slip ons for this bike b/c the hp gains don’t make a full system worth it for street use imo. I got my exhaust for sound mostly but don’t want it at the expense of operational efficiency of the bike.
So im throwing on a high flow intake and getting my bike tuned Ill update you on what air/fuel number I land at and how it runs
Ok cool, yea I’d love to know how it goes for ya
What’s the place called in Irvine California?
I haven’t been to it but it’s called socal superbikes

Awesome short circuit and hill climb bike. If only I could own them all and not have to choose…
Haha I know right I want one of every type of bike lol
Good to know the unrestricted tune actually does nothing really. Time to get it properly tuned not just run up on the dyno haha
yup, I should have known better
@@ScoutsOut But did you feel any difference? I can't remember if you said it felt better or not
Yes I noticed a bump in power with the exhaust. I didn’t notice any difference with the dna air filter. I noticed a gain on the top end of the bike with the dna stage 2. I noticed a difference in roll speed in corners and the bike felt like it ran better (that was caused by the reduction in engine braking as the bike was allowing fuel in decel making it feel like it ran better) but no I didn’t notice any power gain with the unrestricted tune.
Do you think that flashing the ecu helped the bike not run as lean as it is with the new exhaust?
No i actually done, the tune i did was only the unrestricted and that did nothing that i can see to change the mapping. It only changed the fan on and off times and reduced the engine breaking. I’m hoping to get it to a shop and get a real tune on it this summer
What’s the top speed you’ve reached?
I’ve only gone 131 on this bike, it will go a little faster but it’s a slow pull
@@ScoutsOut how quick is it to 130? And is there enough passing power for the highway? (In the USA)
It’s quick to 100/110 then lags a little to 120/130. More than enough passing power for the freeway
@@ScoutsOut do you have any videos of you going high speeds on the freeway or no, im new to the channel and just subscribed because next april this is going to be my first motorcycle
@@ScoutsOut also how does all of these upgrades compare to stock, is it worth the price of all of these parts?
do u need a powercommander to dyno?
No, but you need one or an FTECU to tune it. You can also just take the bike to a dyno shop and pay them to tune it. Most of them just flash your ecu using a bench FTECU
What kind of dino was that though
it looked like a 250i to me but not sure, with a wide ban in the tail pipe
What is the maximum speed you can reach with the dyno?
Not sure
