Also the intstruments apply hexes to any enemies in the area; the sky chimes apply the Doomed hex and the Ghost drums apply the Haunted hex, making for good synergy with runesage and hexmage spells.
I love totems best solo set up I found was philosopher using chackram which chakram skills can hit and play your drums and chimes at range for added saftey. Hex mage using torment and rupture with the natural hexs applied. If you want to get really crazy you can enchant steel Saber with rainbow hex for those longer harder fights. (Note if you enchant steel Saber with Rainbow hex and put it in to legacy chest the enchantment will be on the cerulean Saber as well.)
Lol you my friend are ahead of the game. I just created a build using that exact playstyle. All except the saber. I went for more fire damage instead. Did not know that carried over when legacy chested so thanks for the info!
@@SheenShots Enjoy it's a great build and with nurturing echo the most self sustained build as far as skill trees go that I've yet found in the game. My last play through I was trying out your mana knight build and had a blast with it. P.S the elemental chakram from three brothers is pretty fun when you get all torments active with the rainbow hex. Have fun and I appreciate the content it's been great seeing your videos.
Such a unique looking skill tree. Seems like it would really go well with all the crazy looking armor in this game. Like some kind of crazy shaman dude. You got me actually curious about it for the first time. May save this one for the definitive edition.
Btw if you use +2 alert potion or the skill that gives alertness, you can sacrifice 2 alertness for 3 instant refresh for skills, so you can actually repeat the totem placement 3x back to back almost
One small tip if you are playing as rogue best light source in the game is runic wisp enemies dont see it as light source and it is the best lantern in the game :)
Hearing that Nurturing Echo and Reverberation are both good in their respective trails and actually hard to choose between is something I wish was more common for the other trees...like cold sigil, rupture, infuse wind, I haven't heard of anyone actually pick those over the fire buff, blood sigil, and wind sigil. The only other choice I can think of as hard as this is infuse fire vs infuse cold, but I'd you're a philosopher, probably pick fire :T
I love cold sigil though! Great for melee characters! If you want to do a hybrid. Kick uses no mana, does a lot of impact in the sigil, mana ward does damage and protects you from an attack, mana push again impact damage. If you want to use a build that is a hybrid with little mana, it's a very nice one to get. Meanwhile more fire is just boring.
@@cadeyrndragheim22 The fire sigil is really good at the start, but I must admit I have never used the ice sigil much. It being a top tier skill I almost always skip it for more fire defense. I will have to shake it up now that you have mentioned how good it is!
I know that you can play the totems with chakrams, which is pretty fun. In my experience, damage scales with elemental bonus for lightning and ethereal, but I don't know whether the instruments take into account the bonus of the "performer" or of the person who placed the instrument. Anyone have any insights?
Idk if it was a bug or if it's intended but I placed my totems, died before I could pick them back up and they vanished. I was so annoyed by this that I didn't even check if the npc can re-craft them for you and abandoned the build. Maybe they fixed/changed this in the difinitve edition and I'll give it another go but the thought of possibly losing one entire skill tree until you travel all the way back to get new totems really turns me off.
Luckily you can now craft the totems in each region as Definitive Edition added totem crafting station in each regions. I am not sure why your totems would have disappeared without the 7 day region timer changing, but I know totems were very buggy before DE. I actually came to a point where they were unusable because they would not place the totem in my inventory and would instead spawn an additional totem. So every tome I used it I had to leave it behind due to weight and it lagged the crap out of my world. I have not had this issue anymore so looks like they are working a lot better.
@@SheenShots Imma have to look that up tbh 'cus I haven't seen any totem crafting stations however I've only started playing DE like a week ago so thanks for the hint!
I would probably replace cabal hermit. You need the warrior monk for stamina and the rune mage is a staple of the build. Cabal hermit isn't really used that much other than for more damage. Primal ritualist will be a fantastic replacement.
So I really wanna use these in a new build starting next week. What skill trees would pair best with it? Id like to know how best to spend my skill points.
Hex mage works great since the totems apply a hex on the enemy and you can blow them up with rupture when you need to. I like warrior monk since you get a lot more stamina to work with and placing the totems costs stamina. I am not a fan of the speedster tree, but it does give you your totems back faster. Lastly, we have the Philosopher. Chakrams can hit the totems letting you fight the enemy and hit your totems all at the same time.
@@SheenShots thanks man. I just think it would be fun but also kind of funny to use drums, chimes and the guitar to become a One Man Band like that Mary Poppins scene and wreck fools.
Bow and arrow does not work unfortunately. However, chakrams will work on them which gives you an alternate method to hit the totem rather than just spam melee.
You will need to craft the totem in order to use the skill. You can buy the skill ahead of time but will be unable to use it. One needs the other basically.
The damage will increase each time a wave hits an enemy. So you can't charge it up without and enemy present in the circle. Once the charges are build up however, they don't go away. So you can keep them down and bring enemies over to you while they are maxed out. The waves deal amazing damage after only three hits so you don't need it to be built up for it to work well.
someone posted a link in your comments without saying what it is even if they said I would not click on it lol. I did some testing in debug 2 nights ago was up till 6am was just making build was messing around with prismatic flurry and was trying a different build for it then what others have posted and its good a lot of normal enemies you can one shot but it's not as good as those videos make it out to be the videos I saw with it said you could 2 shot things with 2500hp and they never fought anything with that much hp in the videos they only fought normal enemies so I fought the golem in the garden in abrassar and where i did beat him with no traps just Meteoric Knuckles because I did a build that focused on fire and physical damage but it was not a 2 shot and he was dead in fact if you don't time it right I notice prismatic flurry is a little hard to hit with. I was always sceptical that prismatic flurry could 1 to 2 shot things with 2500 hp like some videos says without them ever showing it in the video. Also streaming today if you got time if not no worries i know you have videos to edit so much easier to just stream lol
I have noticed this as well. It is a very good skill but sometimes impossible to hit. I think it might be possible to two shot certain enemies if they are very immune to a specific element and you max that one out. Otherwise, it just isn't quite that insane. Thanks for the heads up on the link.
I do not think probe procs alertness on the totems. They are not treated the same way as enemies which is why I think this although I have never tried. Both skill trees can be used pretty well together though.
This skill tree is from the Three Brothers DLC. You will be able to access this with Definitive Edition automatically if you have that. This is not a mod or anything and is was introduced into Outward with their second DLC.

That master kazite armor though 👀👀

Both totems can be picked back up whenever you want. You won't be able to put them down again until the skills come back though.

Bow and arrow does not work unfortunately. However, chakrams will work on them which gives you an alternate method to hit the totem rather than just spam melee.
does using reverberation shorten the cooldown for the drum/chime skills?
No reverberation will simply pick the chime up without reducing cooldown. I have found it to be a really poor skill considering how the totems work.
Do you need to craft it to use it or can you just get the spell? (Use without crafting it through the spell)
You will need to craft the totem in order to use the skill. You can buy the skill ahead of time but will be unable to use it. One needs the other basically.
