2:46 I'm pretty sure possums are an 'introduced species' in NZ which is why they are considered pests there. They compete with their local wildlife. Similar to how Australia considers rabbits as a pest because they were introduced from the UK.

My daughter and grandchildren live there..I love Melbourne! You gotta try the hot jam donuts at the entrance...The best...The library down there is amazing...Melbourne used to have so many amazing historic buildings, like that, until someone thought it was a good idea to "modernise" the city from the mid 50s thru to the 70s.....There were so many just torn down...This is one of the remnants of another time, just of the many beautiful buildings this city had to offer...such a shame....Not sure how many younger inhabitants actually know that about their city....Melburnians just accept you as you are....theyre not too fussed about dress, altho at certain places they like to dress up...That arcade is a bit like the Strand in Sydney, and the Queen Victoria Building, but I dont think you explored a lot of inner Sydney when you were here....We call that the Heritage Council, Mado, and yes Melbourne is a very cool place...My second home....

I'm based in Melbourne and I prefer Sydney because of the beautiful outdoors lifestyle with the beautiful beaches, parks and world leading resortwear fashion (like Zimmerman). Always inspired by the beauty of Sydney. The best of Melbourne is deliberately hidden, whether it”s bars, restaurants or coffee shops. We prefer word of mouth referrals as customers. You get a more select customer. Sydney is in the process of being superseded by Melbourne as the largest city. Sydney is on the precipice of losing its position as Australia's largest city, as Melbourne is growing much faster and the two are currently neck and neck. Also Brisbane and Perth are going to catch up to the big two over the next two or three decades. They're talking about Perth more than doubling in a relatively short period of time, which sounds like it will be fraught with trouble, as it is not culturally acceptable to live in highrise flats in that city at all and they've already run out of land. The problem with Melbourne is that the infrastructure can't keep up. A lot of colleagues I speak to are spending 3-4 hours a day in traffic to get to work, while living in a 20km radius of the CBD in Melbourne. Immigration is out of control though - since I was at school the country has admitted as many people as 66% of the original population at the time and that's barely in a generation. The problem is that these people do not distribute themselves evenly across the country and they ONLY congregate in the major cities. Regardless of what people say, Australia is built upon primary indistries like mining and farming. The CBDs are not always the best representation of life in Australia - most people spend the majority of their time in the local suburbs. The suburbs from East to West in Melbourne span roughly 140km from one side to the other.

Melbourne is Australia's most populous city, with 5.4 million, it overtook Sydney Sept 2023. Due to expansion of Western suburbs out to Melton. Melbourne is way more better in places to see and do, Sydney is great, but traffic is chaotic, and Sydney has the Harbour and Bridge, and Opera House most know, otherwise it's expensive and world reknown for its main sites. The battle is always on between the cities, one thing we all can agree on is Melbourne has the worst state government in history, and Sydney the worst City Council in Australia. Melbourne has the best coffee, cafes and world cuisines in the CBD and best Asian foods.
