The early releases and this aren’t trying to be the same thing. This release is showcasing what additional age in that rickhouse tastes like. The old release (which came from the top hotter floors) showcased the proof that the major temperature fluctuations produced. Both exceptional but showcasing different things. It would have been impossible for the early releases to achieve the age that this new one did because there would have been nothing but empty barrels up in the buzzards roost after eleven years.
From my experience, fresh crack vs being open a while is night and day with this one. Liked it on fresh crack, absolutely loved it after it opened up a few days later.
I like jack really started drinking last year. But where do they taste flavors . I don't taste anything just the alcohol. I like the smell but I don't smell flavors. Just drink straight and jack and coke once in a while
I would suggest start with some entry level bottles from different distilleries (jack, beam, Heaven Hill, buffalo trace, Old Forester, etc...) and watch reviews of them while you are trying them. You may be able to start picking up flavor notes when someone is pointing them out at the same time you are trying them. Hope this helps!
Picked up 8 of these from 3 different barrels. Prices were great and Christmas is coming 🥃

I got a bottle of the 2024 @135.3 Proof

Im glad that JD has gone from a college coke and JD drink to producing some exceptional bourbon and rye (thats what it is) that i really enjoy now.
Wow. Congratulations on scoring a bottle!
Thanks, not my bottle though unfortunately haha

Can’t feel bad for the people that traded away the 2021s and didn’t appreciate them
