I am torn between hapstone premium CBN and poltova metalic bonded CBN. I think hapstone might be better because they don't require etching when the stones are used up. Do you have much experience with both?
I have quite a few of diamond matrix stones form several makers. Venev, Columbia George, Hapstone, Naniwa, but the Poltava is a cut above in the bonded CBN Stones. the issue is not having to etch them, it is being able to do so as it gives a brand new stone and will last a life time. Not the case with Resin stones. I am testing the Poltava products currently and am mightily impressed. You can use a conditioning stone just as you do with a resin stone. However etching gives a very fresh aggressive bite not available in another type of stone at a given grit size. But using a dressings stone works just fine. No etching required. ;
