I'll tell you, I was a live audio engineer for over 20 years .. met grammy winners, Oscar winners, legends of every genre... best show ever saw was Supertramps last ever show... Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.... the Encore was "Goodbye stranger", It's been nice To meet you it's been nice. ... I hope you find your Paradise. Then it was, "take the long way home, EPIC show and how they retired.
WOW. I never had the pleasure of seeing Supertramp, I wish I had! I was a freshman in college with this album came out, and I listen to it nonstop. What a great stories you must have! I wish you the best. Peace 💜
BJ is correct . If we can give just a little bit to our significant other or someone else. The world would be a bette place. Supertramp is very underrated band and their music/songs are gems. Love you two reactions, simply the the best .
"Give a Little Bit" is the opening song on Supertramp's 1977 album; Even in the Quietest Moments... The song was released as a single that same year and became an international hit for the band, peaking at number 15 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. It was a chart hit in the band's native UK, reaching number 29 on the UK Singles Chart 😁
There was a video floating around d a few years ago with this song as the background music showing people doing random acts of kindness. It made me cry everytime I watched it. The lyrics are simple but beautiful.
Good reaction! Supertramp always has uplifting melodies. And they don't do covers, as far as I know. This is the original, and I heard it on a commercial, too. The title song from this album is my favorite of theirs. It's so spiritual and soothing!
Love your reactions with the candor and humor between y'all! This one is of my favorites of theirs - the lyrics, sax, and percussion - spectacular! Was in high school when this came out, Supertramp is another reason why I feel lucky to have grown up with the soundtrack of 70 🔥
Fantastic song by a grossly underrated band of genuine talent led by Rodger Hodgson. Hard to run into a "bad" song by these guys. One of my favorites,...seeing y'all smile is the epitome of Supertramps music. Take a listen to "Lord is it Mine" (my favorite) & "Take the Long Way Home"...just magnificent. (YES, closet gremlins throw stuff on the closet floor!!😂)
There's not a bad song on any of their albums. Crisis What Crisis, Crime Of The Century, Even In The Quietest Moments, and Breakfast In America are right up there with anything by Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, etc...one of the very greatest bands of Prog Rock
i remember that tape. i bought it upon it's release. breakfast in america had several really good tracs on it. i liked "the long way home" the best. nice song. nice reaction to it, guys. thanks. still watching and diggin it. big shoutout from this longhaired country boy in the mountains of East Tennessee. bless you and yours. go with God. much peace and lots of love. be seeing you on the next. later.
Supertramp is a rare gem of a band and music doesn't get much better. Their catalog is highly underrated. They are worthy of a deep dive down the Supertramp rabbit hole. Yes, this is the original and the Goo Goo Dolls covered it and had a hit with it several years ago. Pretty sure that's where you heard the more rock version... Goo Good Dolls did a job on it too!
I've said this a hellava lot over the years and will continue to do just that. I'm a veteran concert goer attending 1196 concerts from 1973 until today, July 12th 2023. Saw seemingly every band from ABBA to Zappa and most in between. Still, to this day, Supertramps "Breakfast in America" tour is the 3rd best concert I have ever attended. They sounded as perfect in a live setting as any band I have heard in concert. For those wondering who #1 and #2 are... 2. Yes-Going For the One tour- Simply stunning. 1. Pink Floyd-"In the Flesh" tour (promoting the Animals album)- For me, no concert has come close, even after all these decades.
The guitar sound might seem a little different because it's a 12 string. The lower strings have an extra string beside them strung an octave higher, and the higher strings are doubled, so it's a fuller sound from one guitar.
There was a TV commercial where several different people sang several different verses of this song simultaneously and it was a very popular commercial maybe 15 years ago
THIS SONG AND ALBUM ( EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS ) WERE PRETTYYYYY MUCH THE END 😮 OF REALLLLL GREAT SUPERTRAMP YOU GUYS! 😊HUGE FM RADIO HIT THIS WAS ASIA AND BJ
Been married for 35 years and here's some advice I heard back in the 70's (yeah, when I first heard Supertramp). "Learn to love your spouse's little faults... And ignore their big ones." And no matter what... 'Give a little bit!' 😏
Supertramp had a financial backer when they started out. After the first couple of albums failed to hit with the public, he pulled out. On their own, they released Crime of the Century in 1974. That album shot them to the big time.
The Goo Goo Dolls covered this song, but Roger Hodgson of Supertramp wrote it, and they did it first. I wouldn't doubt that it's been used in commercials...it's a natural.
My next favorite Supertramp song is Goodbye Stranger but The Logical Song and Take the Long Way Home are equally amazing. And they are all on the same album, Breakfast in America. They layer so many instruments and seem to have few boundaries musically like the Beatles & Pink Floyd. Each song is its own journey.
It's in the Hershey's chocolate commercial ! This song is off there Even in the quietest of moments album ! Amazing Album ! It's a very happy upbeat song 🎶
Just some old guy trivia for you; this song was on Lois Lane's radio when the nuke initiated earthquake hit California and she drove off into the crevasse in the original Superman the Movie.
This song was in the 1978 film Superman with Christopher Reve, Margot Kidder, and Gene Hackman. Good classic. That's my Patreon Movie Suggestion. Woooo!
The Dixie Chicks did o co er of this song a few years back that became a big hit. I coach a high school team where I had to swear to them that Give a Little Bit was an original Supertramp hit. No one was ever able to play this song the same way
The song give a little bit was one of the feature songs as background music in the movie Superman with Christopher Reeves :-). Check it out look it up and watch the movie and you will hear it in the scene where Lois Lane is in the desert driving somewhere and then Superman is on the way to rescue them
This song is pleasant and catchy. Glad you are discovering this band. Probably my favorite tune from them is "Hide in Your Shell." Give it a little bit of a listen lol.
I like when they had this on the radio when Lois was driving right before she went in that crevice before Superman pulled her car out in the best Superman movie in 1978, thanks Y’all
Advertising copywriters rarely (if ever) commission whole songs. It's much easier to sample (borrow-with-intent-not-to-return) from an existing popular song. One of the very few exceptions was an advert for a bank that was only used for a few bars but, Ruchard Carpenter (of the Carpenters) heard it and asked the author if he had a bridge and chorus - luckily he did and it became the Carpenters second biggest hit of all time.
When I hear this song I picture that shy intorverted guy who's sits in the corner of a party and the beautiful girl who surrounded by guys who want to get with her. If only she would acknowledge the shy guy she'll be surprised that maybe her one true love was within her reach. Hince the line see the guy with the lonely eyes, take his hand you'll be surprised.
Supertramp is an underrated gem of a band.

Saw them in Toronto. One of my favourite groups ever. Super talented!
Definitely a rabbit hole worth diving down into...great band, great music. Thanks for the reaction ❤
Our pleasure!

@@DavidDrouant 👌
Supertramp is such a "good vibe" band! Please react to "Take the Long Way Home". It's so beautiful and you won't be disappointed.
Y'all, this is pure Supertramp original.
Hell Yeah

This is ONE of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS 🎵, and definitely my favorite SUPERTRAMP song.
Supertramp always makes me happy as do most bands from the 60-70's!!!👍👍👌👌✌✌😃😃

Asia & BJ, you'll Love their "Take The Long Way Home" and "Dreamer" !!!!
Such a good song and band. I only really dug into their catalog a couple years ago. I wish I had done it sooner.
I was in junior high when Supertramp started getting played on the radio
The album “breakfast in America” always put me in a good place
Soooooo many good songs from this band. My personal favs are Crime of the Century and Fool's Overture. Thanks for sharing!
There was a video floating around d a few years ago with this song as the background music showing people doing random acts of kindness. It made me cry everytime I watched it. The lyrics are simple but beautiful.
You guys got class and heart. You were kind enough to react to one of my very favorite songs ever! Thank you!
This is such a niceee song🎶❤️🔥🎶 makes ya feel good!! It doesn't take much.. ❤️🎶 just give a lil bit of time and love..🎶❤️ 😍
My brother used to listen Supertramp in the 80's, i was a kid but i remember very well... greetings from Brazil.
Good reaction! Supertramp always has uplifting melodies. And they don't do covers, as far as I know. This is the original, and I heard it on a commercial, too. The title song from this album is my favorite of theirs. It's so spiritual and soothing!

Supertramp carved out their own niche in music. And where hugely popular. Blessings to you guys. 🙏👍
YES !! Love me some Supertramp ! See the man with the lonely eyes ... Oh take his hand he'll be surprised !
Goodness 100% Supertramp. Supertramp is THE ORIGINAL, and this is 47 Years old too.
There's not a bad song on any of their albums. Crisis What Crisis, Crime Of The Century, Even In The Quietest Moments, and Breakfast In America are right up there with anything by Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, etc...one of the very greatest bands of Prog Rock
Classic song. You need to watch these guys perform live. Impeccable musicianship.
I'll always love Supertramp's sax work; it's kind of their signature - much like with Quarterflash.
Supertramp is such a great band.
I'd like to recommend 'Dreamer' next guys, there is so much great music from this band!
One of my favorite bands of great musicians and composers. Soulful and inventive. Yes, Supertramp will make you feel happy and smile!
Glad you guys discovered this underrated band and amazing song.

Keep it coming Asia and BJ. If it makes ya'll be happy. Thats good enough. God bless...
Supertramp only ever did their own music, a unique band very underrated. An excellent live band!
That's a 12 string guitar. It has such an awesome sound to it. I saw Supertramp in the 70s. Fantastic show!
Supertramp is a rare gem of a band and music doesn't get much better. Their catalog is highly underrated. They are worthy of a deep dive down the Supertramp rabbit hole. You guys are always giving a little bit of love. Love ya.😊
Supertramp is by far the best tramp I’ve ever been introduced to.
I've said this a hellava lot over the years and will continue to do just that.

Just a feel good song for me. Always picks me up
I've always felt this is the perfect song for promoting Blood Donation.
Always had a place In my older play list miss them back on a new one !
Give a Lotta love to youall for playin this haven't heard in minute, ✌️🔥
Thanks for both of you giving a little bit of yourselves and time to us. Peace!
Anytime you can get the live version of a Supertramp song choose it over the studio version. Many bands it’s the opposite but they do their best live.
This is a absolutely beautiful song !!!!!!!🎶
Love this band…so talented
This was the song to start the Summer when I graduated high school in 1977.
Supertramp had a financial backer when they started out. After the first couple of albums failed to hit with the public, he pulled out. On their own, they released Crime of the Century in 1974. That album shot them to the big time.

Another song from my middle/high school years in the 80s. Love it THIS much!
This came out in the 70’s. ✌🏼
@@1BobsYourUncle Yes, and I got mileage out of it a couple years later, in the 80s. It came out in 78 when I was 9.
Back in 1979 I heard this song play in the background of part of the Superman movie that had just come out.
Supertramp is a rabbit hole band for sure …
👍🎼 ❤️
It's in the Hershey's chocolate commercial ! This song is off there Even in the quietest of moments album ! Amazing Album ! It's a very happy upbeat song 🎶
Just some old guy trivia for you; this song was on Lois Lane's radio when the nuke initiated earthquake hit California and she drove off into the crevasse in the original Superman the Movie.
this is a Supertramp original written by Hodgson, one of his best
Saw them at the Garden late 70's Elton John and The Cone Heads (SNL) came out and sang backup on Goodby Stranger. Hi Jari, hope you're well.
Hats off to BJ! We all need to watch out for each other!
Yeah man that’s the original , one and only Supertramp ❤
This song was in the 1978 film Superman with Christopher Reve, Margot Kidder, and Gene Hackman. Good classic. That's my Patreon Movie Suggestion. Woooo!
These two are funny, ya gotta love these two! 😄❤
So many great songs from this group!
Asia will enjoy "It's Raining Again".
Wow I'm not sure how I miss this one I'm looking forward to it Thanks for all you do
The Dixie Chicks did o co er of this song a few years back that became a big hit. I coach a high school team where I had to swear to them that Give a Little Bit was an original Supertramp hit. No one was ever able to play this song the same way
You are such beautiful folks ...man , I love your vibe .
Brilliant.
The song give a little bit was one of the feature songs as background music in the movie Superman with Christopher Reeves :-). Check it out look it up and watch the movie and you will hear it in the scene where Lois Lane is in the desert driving somewhere and then Superman is on the way to rescue them
Definitely one of my favorite songs ever ❤
What an awesome song guy's 🥰
This song is pleasant and catchy. Glad you are discovering this band. Probably my favorite tune from them is "Hide in Your Shell." Give it a little bit of a listen lol.
It was fun to watch BJ's heart grow to three times its normal size, just like the Grinch!🤣
Such a unique voice. Great song.
Such a happy, feel good song.
Can't we all make time for each other. ❤😊
I like when they had this on the radio when Lois was driving right before she went in that crevice before Superman pulled her car out in the best Superman movie in 1978, thanks Y’all
Brought me straight back to mid 70s 😊🇧🇻
I don’t know what commercial it was in but it was in the movie The Book Club.
The Goo Goo Dolls did a cover of this a few years back but this is the original.
Person who DROPPED IT PICKS IT UP.
Great song, and that saxophone….yummy❤️🎶❤️ Goo Goo Dolls covered this, down several keys from the original.😊

I wore this vinyl out qhen I was a kid
Great song. AJ made a comment about possibly hearing a different version of the song - it might be the 2005 remake by the Goo Goo Dolls.
GOO GOO DOLLS covered it a few years back
This is their song 😊
BJ is right! The Goo Goo Dolls did a cover in the late 90's!
Great album. Oh and see that on the ground? Well Pick it Up!😄
When I hear this song I picture that shy intorverted guy who's sits in the corner of a party and the beautiful girl who surrounded by guys who want to get with her. If only she would acknowledge the shy guy she'll be surprised that maybe her one true love was within her reach. Hince the line see the guy with the lonely eyes, take his hand you'll be surprised.
It’s a perfect song.
The cover you probably heard was by the Goo Goo Dolls
1977!!! It's the original!
Great great band!
9 of my 10 favorite bands are from the U. K.
