Remember the very beginning of the film, when they tell him when he walks to walk at his own rhythm, now he's running with purpose, what that may be exactly is up for interpretation, but he no longer needs anyone to tell him how he walks.
My interpretation of the situation is that he's running to stop Abigail telling Yaya they were sleeping with each other. The survivors have found out the hotels on the other side from the guy selling stuff and there getting off the island. He wasn't fussed when they both left if anything he was happy he didn't have to break the bad news, he had his feet up waiting for her to come back and get his dick sucked. Seemed like he really didn't give a fuck about Yaya and now he's literally running to save his life. Middle aged toilet cleaner or marry the famous and gorgeous Insta model, getting paid to go on exotic holidays and free 5 star cruise ship vacations all over the world? Tough one. I guess it shows how desperate both men and woman are to have that good life and choosing a partner isn't always about being soul mates and in love but surviving and having the least hardship in life and vice versa the person in power can buy attractive things or people
the ending gave me chills with that shot of him running like this primal energy and the ambiguous nature of it all, both thrilling and melancholic in a way like searching for some sort of meaning in our modern existence amidst all its complexities and faults there is human connection to be found (?) in the context of the film not knowing what happens to Yaya, whether Carl is going towards them or running away. it just leaves you to think about a lot
my interpretation is that he came to his sense, and being the one knowing abigal intimately therefore most likely knew what she's about to do to yaya, he went to both of them
@@way9883 Agree. Remember that donkey scene? Classic foreshadowing. So for me, the open question is not whether Abigail will try to finish her. The question is: Will Carl arrive on time or not?
This song hits hard for me now. I just lost my husband on June 30th, 2023 to Cancer, but when I saw this part of the movie a few months ago, my husband was alive, and the song was playing in the movie. My husband and I instantly liked this song. My husband loved Tiësto, Armin Van Buren and the sound of this song was right up his alley. Now as I listen to this song I will always remember it as one of the last songs that he and I listened to and liked together. 😢
No matter of the time you’ve spent without him this and maybe other things would be like he’s still here. It’s hard and I know it’s not helpful but his memory lives within you and that’s all that really matters. Love for you ❤
What I also liked about this ending song aside from Carl's running was that it started right as Abigail was walking towards Yaya with the rock and crying, so it made it more poignant watching Abigail weighing her choices in a fight between what she knows to be right versus all she'd lose from her time on the island if she didn't kill Yaya. The internal struggle there was so well displayed and brilliantly acted. Everyone in this movie really did a wonderful job, it will sit in my memory for a very long time.
If she killed yaya it wont matter anyway, CARL running vigorously was probably because they finally discovered they're not the only people on that island. But carl realized that Abigail might kill yaya if they discovered something on the other side of the island to hide the truth from them. So he's just stopping that from happening but I think yaya was murdered and abi will go to jail because of that.
@@arg7380 Yeah, that was my understanding of it too. Abigail was maybe hoping to return alone and keep things how they were while hiding the discovery. The others however found out on their own through the salesman and Carl realized what Abigail might do.

I think that when the german lady screamed everyone gathered and the salesman talked to the survivors including Carl and told them that there was a resort over the mountain area which is where Yaya and the lady went, and Carl ran after them in fear of Yaya's safety not knowing what the lady would do upon learning that she is no longer in charge
Yup. Carl knows maybe better than anyone else on the island how unrepentant Abigail is about clinging onto her newfound power and just how willing she is to inflict cruelty on others given the opportunity. He knows it's all over, hence the desperation.
For people who came from the movie and not familiar with the dance music scene, this track is very well known and was considered one of the best dance tracks during pandemic, it brought people back on the dance floor.

Yaya undoubtedly was killed. Her “generous offer” to maybe make Abigail her assistant only cemented her fate. What we don’t know is what happened afterwards.
It's pretty clear that Yaya dies after she tells Abigail she could work for her. She hesitates to kill her, but those words trigger her because the one time she felt like a leader was coming to an end, and she was just going to become another slave to a rich person. Pretty eerie that the actress who played Yaya died in real life after filming the movie, though.

I just let her go, but I should have tried to run after her through the pain, like Carl does, but it's already so late... Let me give you advice - it is better to do and regret than not to do and regret all your life.
I didn't know she passed away after this movie. It is such a tragic loss of film industry. She was very talented and I looked forward to her further career. Rest in peace.
Abigail definitely killed Yaya. Triggered by her saying she could work for her. Because out there she's the cleaning lady. Here she's the captain. The German lady got their attention and everyone found out there's a resort on the island and Carl is running to stop Abigail from telling Yaya about them because he's not going to keep selling himself for fish when he gets back to the outside world
You're not far off what Östlund says, except for the fact that Carl likely believes he knows Abigail was going to harm Yaya. Östlund said, “For that shot, I told Harris (Dickinson), ‘You have been on the beach camp with the others and the beach vendor has arrived there. And maybe the beach vendor has told you that on the other side of the island, in the direction that Yaya and Abigail have gone, there is a resort hotel there.’ And Carl realizes that for Yaya and Abigail, the whole situation maybe will be dangerous. He feels like something bad could happen, so that is why he’s running like that, bloody and frantic.”
@@xClydeHDyes she did. Abigail said it herself in the interview. She said her role "-Abigail" smashed Yaya head just like when they smashed the donkey head. So she dead. And she killed her because of what Yaya said. Yaya last statements was reminded her that she will go back to her normal life the "toilet manager". That's why she killed her. Carl running was too late. Yaya would have been dead by the time he got there. And now they already know it's a resort so Abigail killed Yaya for nothing and she would have either ended up in jail or Carl might cover for her.
I really love this song, been listening to it for days now! I thought the ending to the film was incredible, too. Many people reflect on the fates of Abigail, Yaya and Carl, but the thought that really stuck with me after the film was something like "everyone uses their abillities to their fullest to get power in the systems we've created, and those who have the power are willing to kill to keep those systems in place". In a sense, Abigail and some rich Davos douchebag are the same, they're just in different "places" within the system we've created, i.e. those with money have power. If suddenly being able to catch clams and fish were the new measure of power, other people would likely be at the top in that new system, but in the end it would still be a system where some people hoard all the nice things and are able to command others what to do. I don't know what to think about this... other than brilliant film and fantastic choice of music!

I thought the reason Carl was running was remember how the donkey screamed when they hit it with a rock to the head and it didn't die immediately? I think the same thing happened when Abigail hit yaya and she started screaming and Carl heard and it and started sprinting as quick as he could.. 10/10 film

To me he's escaping the Triangle here. Running away from both parts of it, soon as he was left alone.
Keep doing what you're doing. Masterpiece by masterpiece
Thank you for this!! After seeing the movie I wished for there to be a music video to this song with the marvellous run through the jungle 🔥
RIP Charlbi Dean Kriek 🕊️
rest in peace yaya
Well done and powerful ending. Dolly stole the show here.
People exploit their power most of the time. Poor people dont only because they dont have it
Chills everytime 😊😮
enjoyed the movie...good tune!
My bird favourite song 🥰
Считаю это лучший фильм 2022 года. Концовка до сих пор не отпускает меня💔🔥
Predators against predators , thats the meaning of life on earth, the rest is bull...t! "Life on earth is evil ,we dont need to grieve for that , no one will miss us." Justine - Melancholia - Lars Von Trier.
I loved this song. Song is called Marea (We've lost dancing) and the message of the song is not far from what the story is about actually.
If you can elaborate, in your own view what you get from the song and the flim and what IT actually means??
@@sebastianreyes7917 I don't think she has a clue.
@@cup_and_cone i dont see how you do either
thank you for making this!
Vibes man
I think it's for us to decide if humanity prevailed or not
And i think that's such a beautiful way to end a movie.
great
This and also using Refused during the turbulence at the yacht scene! Great soundtrack :)
Great film! Big applause! ❤
The Triangle Of Sadness 🍿 👍🏻
good
Golden moments of cinema..
I love to see Carl ❤
Finely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks !
RIP Charlbi Dean Kriek (yaya),
gone too too soon, You were so amazing in this
nice
I thought the reason Carl was running was remember how the donkey screamed when they hit it with a rock to the head and it didn't die immediately? I think the same thing happened when Abigail hit yaya and she started screaming and Carl heard and it and started sprinting as quick as he could.. 10/10 film
Carl, being a guy with guilty feelings, runs when he finds out that Yaya is dead. That tells us their expressions in this last click of the film.
I interpret this scene as Carl realising too late the inevitable conclusion of Abigail and Yaya's hike.
Модели не очень умные
I cried for Yaya after this scene.. as my body wanted to dance. And then I´ve googled her (Charlbi Dean Kriek) and found out that she passed away IN REAL LIFE in 2022, before she could see Triangle of Sadness! So I cried again.. fuck!
What was chilling here is that Carl's running seems futile especially if he's going towards where Yaya and Abigail were, like a delay or a shroud from the inevitable
Best video to it so far ❤️🔥
thank you, i was enjoying this part in cinema so much!
