I just wanted to say thank you Renee when you use the large beads to demonstrate and show us it imprinted in my mind it is so hard in these videos people do trying to see specially when they don't do a close up of those little bitty tiny 11/0s I enjoy your videos hope you do more
i am starting a project and the it says to start with three dummy rows. do you know what they mean by dummy rows? it seems like it means just three basic rows because in the end you take them out, but is that what they are?
Great video. You are correct. Other beaders rarely continue to show the next move. Is that by design to keep a beginner at a stalemate? Or are they so arrogant to think they are perfect instructors? I don't know.
Part I and II of this tutorial were so helpful! I couldn't remember how to do the peyote stitch and your tutorial has helped me remember! I love how you teach with the pony beads - all beading should be taught that way, it makes it visually easier to follow and understand :) Thank you.
I've beaded for years ! And ATTEMPTED peyote stitch several times to no avail...thanks to your videos I'm going to give it another shot. Thank you for doing this enlarged version.
If the beads are tight the string shouldn't move, but if you are beading over rope or something soft then you can bury it. I draw the need through, pull tight and then cut it. It gets buried.
I don't know if I agree. I am a member of the church and also a very reputable beadworker and I think this is indeed gourd stitch but its my understanding that peyote stitch is a same concept as gourd stitch but with the beads lying horizontal rather then vertical where the beadholes are on the top and bottom rather then the side. But keep in mind all tribes are different and I my opinion isn't written in stone but it is what I gather from my tribe which is the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma.
Thank you so much! Your tutorial has really helped me learn the peyote in a tubular from. My only regret is not finding your video sooner. It would have saved me a lot of trouble and frustration. I'm a visual learner and unfortunately my vision declines the older I get, Lol! such is life. I appreciate you using the large bugle beads as your means for demonstrating your technique. Being able to see better with the large beads has prevented my eyes from straining so much as I watch you work. GOD bless and Thank you again.
This video is great. I was wondering if you could go right to left because another video went left to right and it was a bit awkard. Keep making these tutorials. I love how you used the pony beads so we could see what you were doing.
I love the way you use the big tub and the big beads to teach, it so thoughtful. Thank you so very much....! Oh! I forgot to ask you . Do you know how to do spiral peyote or Cellini stitch? I saw on the you-tube they doing that style, but the way they teach I don't get it.I think I will learn more if you teach. Many thanks to you for share this video.
Thanks so much for making a video that was easy to understand. I have tried to do peyote stitch in the past, but it never came out right because I could not understand how to do the step up stitch or I would lose count. I feel more confident in trying it again now.
That was great, do you have any ideas on when to add the other colors into a design this is waht mix's me up with peyote. I guess what I mean is I can get my design figured out on graph paper then I get mixed up on what row to add colors for pattern because of the up down, I'm more of a visual learner. Thnaks again! Hope I made sense.
Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us how to do that in a large version! that's help me a lot because what you said, others did not show very clearly how to do the Peyote Stitch, please do more videos!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!
Thank u so much for taking the time to teach this stitch! I have noticed most tutorials they used tiny seed beads, and I was having problems picking up! But finally I got it, thank u again! I will keep practicing!
Thank you Renee for these 2 tutorial videos on learning peyote stitch! It makes so much more sense to me now after watching you doing it with big beads!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this tutorial. I am so excited that I finally understand and can start heading my feather!! I would love to know if you could give a very basic explanation of how to do a pattern. Thanks again!

hi - where do i purchase the key chain with the tassels and without...!? they are great!
Oh yay, I couldn’t find this earlier lol
Lov this way if teaching.. easiest to see. Thanks
that isnt a peyote stitch that is a multi stitch
At some point do you tack it down to the backing/object? Or is it meant to just be ‘floating’ around the object?
If the beads are tight the string shouldn't move, but if you are beading over rope or something soft then you can bury it. I draw the need through, pull tight and then cut it. It gets buried.
How do you finish it? just tie it off?
What about closing and adding to it?
YOU WERE AMAZING, finally someone who can teach peyote from scratch.. THANKS so much
