Can you offer more information about the addition of “more good microbes” shown in the video, where to get them and how much to use? In addition to using FAA, would other soil amendments still be needed such as NPK, blood and/or bone meal, rock dust (minerals), etc?

EM1 (Effective Microorganisms) and leaf mold are the two sources I heard recommended. Just throw a handful on top of the mixture prior to closing it up for fermentation.

Very well done! I did have a question. The fermentation bacteria thrive in the environment you created with the 1kg fish 1kg of sugar? That seemed almost like preservation levels of sugar. I would think that it would start to retard growth at some point. Just asking because I do this with fish and LABS, and I add just 1 cup of brown sugar to feed the ferment. Mine smells just a bit like day old fish.

2 different processes. FAA is supposed to ferment for 6-12 months to get the full effect. With hydrolysate which is what you’re making can be done in 2 weeks to 2 months. This is because it’s different microbes breaking them down. Both are good but both should be made to maturity for best results. FAA will have more faster available N than hydrolysate. But hydrolysate has a nice blend of both fast available and slower N. Another difference hydrolysate process gonna be stinky. This FAA barely smells. It’s not bad at all. But with the way he did it not letting it ferment for long he won’t get the full profile like you would. For example. Bones are not breaking down in 2 weeks from this process so it’s probably not gonna have much calcium or phosphorus because of that. But the proteins break down relatively fast so it’s going to have N as soon as you have liquid like he has here. I say if you don’t want to wait a year stick to hydrolysate as the LAB that make it are insanely active and they break it down real quick giving you a full nutrient profile fast. Only downside is the smell. If you’ve got time and won’t want the smell then let the FAA do its thing. (Ideal if you’re using indoors)

Also keep in mind he uses the wrong concentration here because the usual recommended is 4ml per gallon. This could be because he doesn’t let it ferment as long so maybe it’s weaker? Not sure.

What is the approximate percent of Amino Acid in this concentrated liquid?
Also clarify, whether this process is Hydrolysate or Emulsion ?

Curious, why not use something like bromelain to break everything down even quicker?

Interesting that your was done in two weeks. Most I see take 9 months. I’m going to give this a shot.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, you can use bromelain to speed up the process. However, I did it on natural way.
