Owen Hart wasn't included due it being the direct cause of death. We're just keeping it to injury. The company that was hired to set up the stunt were negligent as fuck though.
good call. Such a traumatic incident 😪
I was going to mention that
Yeah, they used a clip with a max weight limit of I think 70lbs to hold the harness to the zipline
@@DanielDeLeon69 Legally, yes. Martha Hart showed the D-ring they used to hold her 230+ pound husband. Damned thing couldn't have held a puppy to a leash. Owen had done the stunt before seven months earlier, and had every reason to trust the people responsible for him. Idiots changed the gear up on the day to make it "easier" for him to release it on command...
Still can't forget over the edge. Glad we at home didn't see it. RIP Owen
How The Undertaker was able to go through the Elimination Chamber match after suffering second degree burns is beyond me 😬
He's just a badass
I'm with you on that. The fire on The Deadman was insane.
And to my knowledge Taker never blamed anyone, instead everyone else went ballistic on Takers behalf
@@Hitomora no. Taker said it himself on Stone Cold's show that he had warned the pyro guy about the pyro burst being too close weeks prior. When it eventually happened he was angry and wanted to make sure the pyro guy got fired.
The goat
Actually, the thing about the glass at King of the Ring is that they changed the sugar glass to plexiglass because they didn't want the blasts from the pyro to prematurely break the glass. Except nobody told Kurt or Shane. Still, negligent AF
No it wasn’t plexiglass, it was still sugar glass but they put some sort of coating on it that made it a lot harder to break
@@GabbyJFS_02 Depends on who you believe. I believe the guy that wore the glass
Link or cap
@@I-R_kratos do your own homework!
@@pukeymcphistyJC I did and what you said is completely bogus they used the wrong Glass
Triple H is tough as nails. He’s worked so many matches seriously hurt and sometimes people wouldn’t know
A torn quad twice and he finished the match. Albeit the second time they massively improvised the finish.
@@ShiningJudgment666 Wrestled Rock in a LADDER MATCH at Summerslam 98 with a torn ACL. Started a program with Owen late 97 tore his PCL. RVD crushed HHH'S trachea in the first ever Elimination Chamber in 02 with a botched frog splash. Goldberg tore HHH'S groin in 2003. He continued the match at Backlash 00 with Rock after separating his shoulder and breaking a couple of fingers. Fought Undertaker at KOTR 02 with a dislocated elbow. Tore bicep in 2010. Tore a pec in 2018. Also said some of the screws were coming unhinged from his surgically repaired left quad around WM19 time. His doctor asked if it was painful. HHH said, "It's relatively discomforting. But I'll just deal with it." And that's on top of the blood clots he had in his leg after dealing with Steiner.
That would explain between Jan-June 03, there would be periods of time even under his knee brace, he still had leg heavily tape near the quad. Must have bothered him summer of 2004 also.
I could understand him not wanting to take time off. He had to set an example as a leader. Orton and Batista were already getting off to a bad start getting injured themselves in 2002 and 2003 so early on in their careers. And HHH was hell bent on staying loyal to them and making Evolution a success no matter how many times Vince wanted to kill it.
Kurt Angle is so good. Not only can he win a gold medal at the Olympics with a broken neck. He can wrestle while being knocked out.
hahahaha
Not just a broken neck it was a Broken freakin neck
Hhh carried on fighting and finishing the match getting put in the walls of jericho after his horrific leg coming of the bone nd did the same again nd carried on, I rmbr Kurt nd hhh when Kurt got knocked out, bit came bk nd with hunter and stephs help finished that match, both tough as nails, I loved them both, great storylines with them both, serious nd funny stuff 😂

Honorable mention:
Cactus Jack (Mick Foley) in WCW in 1994. During his match against Vader in Munich, Germany when Cactus did his famous hangman, neither he nor Vader knew that the ring ropes were torqued too tight. When Cactus finally freed himself, this resulted in his ear being split and later removed during the match.
I had always heard the story of cactus losing his ear but never the torqued part.
Watch wrestle with Andy cactus Jack documentary it shows it to
How would the torquers know how much to torque It for that?
I thought mick Foley also said they weren't real ropes that's used for wrestling, but actually the wire ropes used in elevator shafts. So they couldn't be moved to free Foley which is why they misjudged the torque, bc those ropes don't work like regular wrestling ropes.
Mick has said wcw used elevator cables or something similiar to them while wwf used regular ropes which is another reason he lost his ear in that match
On Talk is Jericho, Kurt said that after the glass didn’t break the first time, he didn’t want to keep going but Shane insisted he try again.
I think after the first time he went through the glass, Angle said that a ref told him to stop but since he's pretty much deaf in one ear he didn't hear the ref so he kept going.
wrestling was the wild west back then
I get that WWE has a no blood policy but you can't fault AJ for something that was a pure accident
I know right
@Prestin Hurshberry Maybe but accidents happen
@@prestinhurshberry8417 you should be able to walk out as normal and be ready for the crowd he isnt exactly tall so you can imagine at the time you wasnt expecting to be clipped at the side of the head as you walk out
Lol be careful because jobs are pushing for a zero harm policy nowadays.
If we didn't fault people for accidents no one would ever have consequences
The British Bulldog should have been able to sue WCW for his spinal injury. If that happened today he would of gotten compensated.
Seriously. They did him SO dirty especially by firing him while he was laid up like that. I didn't know about that until watching this video. That is deplorable.
The British Bulldog one is really tragic. He already struggled with substance abuse but developed a bad pill habit after that injury. He would be found dead just a few short years later.
Yeah. Scream WCW for such heartless feedback.
It was hard for me not to think of Owen Hart after watching this R.I.P.
Yeah same
I was expecting that to be on here
I don’t think I’ll ever forget the thunk of Shane’s head hitting the concrete floor.
Steamboat’s thunk on the concrete floor from a DDT competes.
the HHH ice thing should have gotten whoever thought of it fired immediately. HHH is lucky he only suffered those injuries. ive seen people have to get fingers and toes amputated due to too much exposure to cold from stuff less lethal. getting anything to a temperature to create ice so quickly like that will cause some serious damage
seriously, no one cares if HHH turns into an ice monster during an entrance, not worth the risk
@@drlax15m L
I’ve never heard this videos version of the story, the story I’ve always heard is triple H came out too early. The dry ice smoke machines were going to bulid up the bulk of the smoke then be turned off so Tripe H could walk through then, but there would still be safe fog machines going to maintain the fog.
The list should have included an honorary mention section for everyone Nia Jax hurt.
that wasnt the fault of WWE though

According to various people in the wrestling business, Jake's "substance problems" started way before the Honky Tonk Man incident.

That Kurt angle Shane McMahon spot is still uncomfortable to this day
The WWE brawl for all needs honorable mention as well. Extremely negligent and underhanded for the company to ultimately have a non-boxer in Bart Gunn to face professional boxer Butterbean. I think that whole fiasco altered several wrestlers careers!

The Undertaker is tough as nails
undertaker had stiches on his forehead prior to wm x7 so triple h reopened an existing cut
Undertaker bleeding after the sledgehammer headshot just made it more realistic
I'm pretty sure that was a blade job.
Taker never went deep with his blading.
W.
@@jamesedmonds7519 Smackdown one was a blade job. The camera cuts away a long time and you can see multiple cuts.
The WM one was instant and a shoot.
Well bulldog has to be the worst..it was wcws fault that he got a spinal infection n they fired him on top of it..🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm with you on that 100%
You are wrong on the first one. Triple H said in an interview (I believe it was on his DVD that came out in the early 2000s maybe 2002 or so) they used a real sledge hammer everytime, except for wrestlemania 17 because the weight of the hammer was throwing off the pickup for the last ride. And he said the first and only time at that point they'd ever used a fake sledgehammer was the first and only time anyone had gotten hurt from it.
Yes, you are right... Taker did not get injured due to being hit by a real Sledgehammer... He was injured because, the fake Sledgehammer basically fell apart causing the wooden handle to split and he was technically stabbed with splintered wood...
EVERYTIME EXCEPT

Man gets a little cut on his face: NUMBER 8!
Wrestlers are there own breed of people. Hhh did his whole match covered in 2nd burns is insane
Also finished a match with a torn quad muscle and finished another with a crushed windpipe. What a legend
WWE announced tables were cursed once I swear. Also real glass has to be used for KOTR because they said that the structure wasn't gonna hold with sugar glass
Not with the concussion blasts of the pyro, and the heat which would have both melted and shattered the panes, being literally feet from them. Considering the opening display, Angle's three entrances and Kane's, they wouldn't have made it to the semi-main...
I remember the Honky Tonk Man in Wrestlemania 3. That was the same night he slammed Andre The Giant and The Rock beat Sylvester Stallone in a boxing match. Awesome event.
i was gonna say the rock beat him at arm wrestling but thatd be over the top
if they got die rocky die chants during that bout, theyd be curious who the crowd was hating
You got dropped on your head just like Shane O’Mac when you were a baby huh?
I figured that Owen Hart would have been number one.
Owen's incident is very well documented already
Me too
@@Hitomora lmao yeah okay
It's focusing on Injuries not Deaths
Yeah what happened to owen was ridiculous… and i don’t even know why they were doing that entrance for a silly run in. It had no contribution to the storyline. They should have done it once and been done with it
Vince on other wrestlers getting extremely hurt: Keep it going. The match must go on.
Vince on Shane getting extremely hurt: We gotta stop the match.
Shane: dont be a hypocrite dad, the match must go on.
I remember when honky hit Jake with real guitar
Undertaker had a rough 2010 with injuries. He suffered a broken orbital bone in a match with Rey Mysterio later in 2010, as well. Yikes.
It all started the year before at wrestlemania25 when he landed on his head doing the signature dive
@@Squeakypickles619 I always wondered how Undertaker was able to keep going after missing that huge dive - that was pure luck that he didn't break his neck on that one!
The thing with Nikki and her neck injury, and being told the MRI "won't show anything" - I was told similar when I was pushing for an MRI last year following severe back-pain. I was told "thre's little point in an MRI, we see lots of things and it's not worth trying to interpret them as a cause of your pains". Eventually, I managed to find a consultant who agreed an MRI was needed, which showed a very obvious (even to me, the layman) herniated disc (L5-S1), giving rise to many of my mobility issues and chronic pain. I praise Nikki here for sticking to her guns, for knowing something was too wrong to be ignored. It i always always worth getting a scan or some other important test, because numbers don't lie (to quote a certain pertinent philosopher!). Additionally, if a test doesnt come back positive, then that's one thing ruled out and it takes away another avenue in the guess-work of it all. I hope her injury has healed and that she lives a life free of discomfort and pain.
She also has a shin injury
I’m kinda surprised that Mick Foley’s HITC match with Undertaker wasn’t mentioned. Yes, he planned the spot about falling off the cage, but when he fell THROUGH the cage, that wasn’t planned. He suffered a concussion, broken ribs and the tooth that got shoved into his nose. Even Vince told him to never do anything like that again
Probably because it has been done to death
he then proceeded to do it again
To be fair, the HITC at that point in time wasn’t designed with the intention of two huge men brawling on top of it. Mick admitted to saying that he lied to Vince when he brought the idea up to him, saying he’d been on top of the structure and felt safe preforming up there.
He has a few interviews where he talks about it.
The way undertaker threw him is all you need to know it was definitely planned.
@@anatourney5175 well it was planned for the slam to be on top, but not for the cage to capsize and burst open.
I'll be honest the botch with the sledgehammer was a good thing for the match. After someone gets hit with a sledgehammer, I expect to see blood. It made the match that much more realistic.
0:26 i just love the editing mistakes by this channel. Back when I binged their old vids they had so many and it brings a tear to my eye to see them again
1:47 that's the El Kabong guitar shot of all guitar shots.
Whoever bought that guitar should've got the DDT
May I ask about how many people work behind the scenes on this channel because it's always quality content
The pyro that burnt Undertaker was obviously on purpose to make him speed up his entrance.
The Undertaker is a different type of animal
I saw this and instantly thought of when Joey Mercury got his nose broken by Jeff Hardy.
Yeah that's why they decided to use the real hammer covering the top part with their hand
Crazy fact about the Shane vs Kurt angle match is that Kurt broke his tail bone earlier on in the match and had a hard time throwing Shane through the glass along with the glass being the wrong type. Both of them got seriously jacked up that match
A ref also told Angle to not throw Shane through the glass but Kurt is deaf in one ear and didn't hear what the ref said.
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327no Shane told him to throw him through the glass

its still amazing to me how poorly Daffney was treated when impact made her do the table spot
She also got her sternum caved-in with a sit-out splash from a Russo Bertha Faye knock-off (in 2010! 🤦♂🤦♂) and that was less than a year later...that's what essentially ended her career, ruined her health physically, and obviously mentally...

It was tempered glass, not plexiglass. Plexiglass probably wouldn't have broken at all.
Plexiglass Definitely wouldn’t have broke

Can't blame the WWE for the Shane McMahon/Angle RR injury. Shane told Kurt to do it, both times, even though Kurt protested.
AEW is guilty of that too.
Definitely. I reckon that AEW wrestlers are going to have a shorter lifespan than everyone else, comparible to ECW.
AEW wrestlers get hurt so often that I swear you can use it as a drunk game while watching their new shows.

I always wondered about that kind of thing: I remember seeing Goldberg's entrance in WCW, where he'd literally stand in the middle of a shower of sparks. How did that never burn him?
@@chrishargreaves8016 from what I remember reading, he would pour water on himself before the entrance and that protected him just enough to do that part, but I may be misremembering
It’s amazing how they can still brush these horrible things off and go about their act. Wrestlers don’t get half the credit theyre entitled too.
Man the Rick Rude ring stage incident should have really been on here--it ended his career
That entire ring set up was a bad idea
The one with the British Bulldog makes a lot of sense no wonder no one talks about him.
damn, that Davey boy smith 1 was a tough listen
Shane told angle to do it again (cus they wanted that breaking glass shot). Shane is certifiably insane.
4:00 became part of the dont do this at home you always see.
I think AJs gash was negligent by AJ not looking where he’s going
Dude his entrance is bending down and walking and humping up
And when he does that , it's not easy to know where it's gonna hit him go bleed
He got something similar in a spot with a chair against Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania. Cut his head on accident and you could see Styles trying to get his hands up to deflect the chair, which has flying towards him.
Like I’m amazed at the fact that make Foley of all people still around even though he’s not in this list they losing his ear during a match against Vader during his WCW run. Being choked slammed by the undertaker threw the hell in the cell, I’m grateful to meet him a year ago.
The Highlight of Wrestlemania 38 for me personally was Edge's Entrance with the other side by alter bridge playing inside AT&T stadium and is triple H 1-2 with musical performances @ Wrestlemania I hope my math is correct.
AEW does the same thing
From what I've been told by someone that I believe was that the guitar was gimmicked, but it was just a high quality guitar so it didn't break the same way as previous guitars, but also Jake didn't start complaining about the guitar shot until 2 years later lol he was hard on the pills before he even mentioned the guitar shot
4:52 As much as we hate non-finishes as fans, we obviously respect when someone is legit hurt.
You forgot mick foley lost an ear and nearly died during a match with vader in 94 while he was using the cactus jack gimmick working in wcw while doing the hangman move but the ropes were too tight
I think Bulldog's lifespan would've been longer had he not been injured.
Yeah, he took so many painkillers in that year to convince the WWF he was ready for a full-time contract. He clearly wasn't...
The Undertaker is THE GOAT of WWE.
Nobody can argue otherwise. He just is.
Honorable mention: everyone who was injured by Nia Jax
To be fair, Shane McMahon was persistent that Kurt through him through the obviously incorrectly used glass after he landed on his head.
Shane sure loved to take beatings during his off and on runs in the WWE. I'll never forget the time he jumped off the titantron. Insane, I don't care how much padding there was.
Shane earned everyone's respect backstage over and over throughout his career. He made sure no one would ever call him 'daddy's son'. He didn't even need to do it, he was already a millionaire and could have just done managerial work at wwe.. but he showed them he was serious about wrestling and making a name for himself.. Mad respect.
The real sledgehammer shot that split Taker open was on SmackDown leading up to WM X-Seven. He had it reopened when H literally bounced the damned thing off his head at Mania itself...
Undertaker bladed on Smackdown.
Wwe has strict no blood policy
Also the wrestlers during match swimming in their own blood
I like how the wrestlers who hurt others are the ones who got it in the next segment. HHH, Engle. Risky business, anyone can get hurt.
Lesson learned, never trust WWE doctors
I remember watching that PPV where Taker got caught in the stage pyro. That was seriously scary. It could have been so much worse.
WCW should of been sued for what happened the British bulldog that trap door was way beyond neglect
Owen better be number one
It’s about injuries not deaths
Shane O should of entered into the early days of CZW tournament of death. Dude always went hardcore
JEEEZZZUUUSSS
The question is this: is that doctor still there in WWE? Or did the WWE do the whole “internal investigation” thing again?
Vince almost stopped the match 🤣
6:24 turned out wcw could be heartless at somepoint
If you watch the Jake the Snake video and keep and eye on the guitar you can see that the internal bracing in the guitar is still there, so it was a legit unaltered guitar
Undertaker is the Kobe of wrestling always had the fans in mind
I'm surprised you didn't mention Joey Mercury's ladder accident
Bring a guitar player, and having smashed more than my fair share, the problem was how Jake was hit. Look at the still again. Honky Tonk hits him with the corner of the bottom at the edge right by the neck.
That is literally the strongest spot in the guitar body. There's no way to gimmick that and have the guitar playable. The string tension would snap the neck right off.
So Jake getting hit right there, the guitar won't give and its going to leave some form of injury. Could've been Honky Tonk stepped too close, could've been Jake stepped too close. Yeah, the company should have bought a gimmicked guitar, but the actual injury falls on one of those two for exactly how the guitar hit him. If they knew it wasn't gimmicked, it should've been a back shot, then while on his knees, a head shot straight on with the center of the bottom.
On the king of the ring entry. The reason why it was actual glass instead of sugar glass was because of the pyro that's used. Sugar glass would have broken just from the proximity. It seems that this change wasn't communicated well, however, which lead to those terrifying bumps
I think with AJ Styles he just turned the corner to soon.
Yeah he misjudged the height of the entrance opening, which is saying something since AJ is about the average height of WWE's wrestlers so it could've happened to almost any of them
I knew Triple H was going to be mentioned in this video and unsurprisingly he’s the first one when it comes to the sledgehammer
What about punk's SO (significant other) AJ Lee/April weren't some of her injuries also due to WWE's negligence?
I heard HHH say in an interview he's ALWAYS had real sledgehammers and never hurt anyone with them. The one time he actually hurt someone (Undertaker) was when the company gave him this fake hammer at WM17.
And Undertaker confirmed this in another interview and said his mother cussed HHH out about it. 😀😀😀
Imagine you could do a whole epsiode with just Goldberg how many people did he kick in the head elbow in the head drop on there head.
When’s the AEW video coming out? You could make one just for Dark alone
Love the fact that a prop sledgehammer is more dangerous than the real one.
I am not a fan of the sledge hammer. The weapon is too OP and breaks the suspension of disbelief too much for me. The only time it works for me is when they ram into someone, swinging it would absolutely obliterate opponent. You can’t fake that.
The first one is wrong. Triple H has said in a documentary that he always used real hammers and the two times he used gimmicked ones that the person got hurt worse.
The British Bulldog incident is so aggrovating. Not only didn't they tell the talent about that door... There was a second Ring right next to the gimmiked one. Why not have the match in that ring?
I know she only had maybe a cup of coffee with WWE, but I would have had Daphne on this list. TNA was beyond negligent in regards to Daphne's injury.
Moral of the story when it comes to WWE doctors, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. Get your own doctor.
7:18 phil brooks and the treatment of his injuries say hello.
I like to believe that Punk had SOME credibility to let hate out at WWE. Forcing the man to perform with both a recovering prior injury AND with a potentially lethal infection like Staph? Surprised there's no news about a lawsuit he should've made against management for that.
Ain't saying that clears him and his own behavior but that DOES put some credit to his dislike on both Vince and Paul.
#1 planning any match vs Nia Jax
